Images of the NVIDIA Tegra Tab leaked a short while back and it looks like another leak has surfaced. This latest comes by way of the NCC, which is the National Communications Commission coming out of Taiwan. Anyway, this filing has the tablet listed as the P1640 and coming by way of NVIDIA. It would appear that the promotional team at ASUS have decided it’s time to begin promoting their next-generation tablet, one that’ll transform as the last several generations have and will be revealed in full on the 4th of September. This device is appearing in a black case in ASUS first teaser image, complete with essentially […]
Though PC streaming from NVIDIA SHIELD is still considered “Beta” by the company itself, an over-the-air software update coming this week has increased the number of games supported by the device officially up to 31. This OTA update suggests that NVIDIA is edging in ever-closer to a final bump for the machine into Go Time […]
This week the folks at NVIDIA appear to either have had a leak in press photos or have a big enough fan out there that they’ve made their own Tegra-themed tablet. What we’re seeing here is an NVIDIA Tegra Tab, a 7-inch tablet that very well may be the tablet version of what we’ve been […]
NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang has confirmed to CNET that a followup to the Surface RT is in development, and that it will apparently continue to use NVIDIA hardware inside. Recently news concerning the ARM-powered version of Microsoft’s tablet hasn’t been good, with a $900 million inventory charge and price cuts for both the RT and Pro. According to Jen-Hsun Huang, the addition of an Outlook mail app in Windows 8.1 can be the killer app the platform has been missing, and the company hopes it will be a big success. Rumors for the next gen of Surface have hinted at Microsoft offering Qualcomm chips in some models as well a smaller 7-inch version. NVIDIA may have some Tegra 4-specific features to contribute on the latter, we’ll see if its can take a bigger bite out of the tablet market on their second attempt.

With NVIDIA SHIELD we’ve begun diving in to a collection of use-cases for the system that spin beyond its original two: Android gaming and PC game streaming. While we’ve given NVIDIA SHIELD a full review already, we’ve only just begun to explore the many use-cases for this device, considering especially its physical controls connected directly […]
Back in January NVIDIA described a unique plan, the chip maker said that it would design and develop Tegra devices itself which would then be sold through regional companies under their respective brands. Meaning that NVIDIA would not sell those tablets and smartphones under its own name, but it would be involved in all aspects of design and manufacturing. Since then we haven’t heard anything about such a device, but now a new NVIDIA device has been spotted in benchmarks, hinting that the chip maker might currently be testing its very own Android tablet.
The device is called NVIDIA TegraNote Premium, it is apparently powered by a 1.8GHz Tegra 3 processor, has a 1,280×800 touchscreen display and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The display resolution hints that this device may possibly be a tablet. Now we must consider two scenarios. Either the company has deviated from its original plans and will now not only design and make devices, it will also sell them under its own name. Or it is sticking to the original plans and is now internally testing one such device before regional companies slap their branding on it. Nothing can be said for sure, hopefully we’ll get to see more of this TegraNote Premium tablet in the near future. [Image via GSMInsider]

We did have pretty high hopes for the XiaoMi Mi3 smartphone, where even as recent as this morning, the folks over at XiaoMi did show us a glimpse of what could be in due time, where a red cloth covered a new, unreleased device. Most folks would have placed their money on this yet to be unveiled device as the XiaoMi Mi3, where in the past, it was spotted on an AnTuTu benchmark bearing the NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor. However, the latest bit of rumors making their way from China pointed out that the XiaoMi Mi3 will in all probability, drop Tegra 4 due to issues with the chipset, not to mention the smartphone will also be delayed to September.
Apparently, talks between XiaoMi and NVIDIA have broken down because both parties could not arrive at an agreement, and this has led XiaoMi to turn to Qualcomm to provide a processor solution, so who knows, we might end up seeing the XiaoMi Mi3 run on the Snapdragon 800 chipset instead down the road. Are you disappointed to hear of the XiaoMi Mi3′s delay?
