Tesla Model S Crashed Into Utility Pole, Causes Blackout

Tesla Model S Crashed Into Utility Pole, Causes BlackoutAh, the irony of a situation – an electric sports car actually ran and kissed a utility pole, and this particular accident resulted in a blackout in that area. The car in question? A Tesla Model S, whose driver has been charged with DUI, rammed his ride into a utility pole in Murfreesboro, TN, and that particular action of his ended up with the local power station experiencing a blackout for a few hours. The driver was subsequently sent to a nearby hospital, and thankfully, no one else was injured (other than a damaged car and a bruised ego on the driver’s part).

While cars hitting utility poles are nothing new, an electric car doing so is still relatively rare – like one of those rare Pokemons that you have been meaning to catch all this while, but never really got the chance to do so. After all, not many people know the inner workings of an electric car, and in the event of an accident, is it safe to approach the vehicle? Will one get electrocuted by accident? A local radio station claimed that utility workers knew how to fix the downed wires, but the emergency personnel had their task slowed down a wee but since first responders had to run a check on the Tesla website before contacting the company directly, so that they know how to turn off the ride to prevent any other untoward incidents.

Tesla Model S deliveries begin outside of North America, starting with Norway

Tesla’s four-door Model S has been trickling into North American garages for a couple of years now, and it seems that production has ramped up enough to finally begin deliveries internationally. Starting today, Model S buyers across various ponds will begin to see stock appear. As seen above, the action is starting in Oslo, Norway, where that guy in the driver seat looks particularly charged up about the parade that awaits. Sorry. It seemed funnier in the moment.
