Panasonic Toughbook CF-C2 Battery Life Increases To 14 Hours

Panasonic Toughbook CF C2 Battery Life Increases To 14 HoursWhen it comes to having a notebook, there is one particularly important aspect that many people look at – and that would be the battery life. Of course, sacrifices must be made – not only in terms of battery life but design and portability as well, so it is always a careful balancing act that one has to perform whenever one is on the go. Well, the latest iteration of the Panasonic Toughbook CF-C2 is said to carry a battery life of 14 hours, which can be attributed to the processor upgrade within that will now feature an Intel Haswell-based Core i5-4300U vPro 2.9GHz processor alongside Intel HD 4400 graphics.

The 14 hour battery life is an increase of approximately 3 hours from the original, while those who do not find any joy in using Windows 8.1 will be able to have the option of downgrading to Windows 7 Pro. As for the front webcam, it has received an upgrade to touch 1.2-megapixels alongside seeing the inclusion of a microphone, not to mention having multi-carrier LTE modem support thrown into the mix as well. The Toughbook CF-C2 will arrive in 128GB and 256GB SSD options, with prices starting from $1,999 depending on the configuration. Any takers for the updated Panasonic Toughbook CF-C2?

SlashGear also recently had some hands-on time with the back-breaking Panasonic Toughbook CF-AX2 if you’d like to take a look. This machine was revealed well within the bounds of this same future-ready range of Windows 8 machines so doesn’t fall under this reboot schedule – it’s already prepped!

The same goes for the Panasonic Toughbook CF-C2, a display-turning transformable notebook ready to bring on both tablet and notebook abilities in a hardcore form. And for those of you that want to say small and don’t necessarily feel the need to move forward with Windows 8, there’s always the Panasonic Toughbook SX2 from back in 2012 – always room for a strange trackpad or two!

Panasonic refreshes Toughbook H2 with faster processor, bigger storage and stronger shell

    Image

We’ve never understood why Panasonic chose to brand its top-line tablet as the Toughbook H2, but given the hairy-chested types who build and use the gear, we’re not gonna challenge ’em. The company hasn’t messed too much with the Windows 7 slate, except pushing the top chip to a 2.8GHz Intel Core i5-3427U and to swap out the 320GB 7,200RPM shock-mounted HDD for a 500GB model. Panasonic has also tweaked the hardware’s polycarbonate-encased magnesium alloy chassis, with MIL-STD-810G1 ensuring that the gear will survive drops from six-feet, as well as IP651 weather-proofing. The 3.5-pound unit also sees its battery life pushed to seven hours and also gains boosted WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1+EDR connectivity. Once you’ve selected a unit, there’s a hefty list of possible add-ons, including barcode scanners, smart card readers, Gobi-running 3G, LTE and GPS options. There’s even a model that meets MIL-STD-461F standards for electromagnetic protection — useful if your day job involves battling superheroes. The standard unit will set you back $3,349 and comes with a three-year international warranty, so you’d better get buttering-up your procurement manager now.

Panasonic outs its new TOUGHPAD Windows 8 Tablet and its TOUGHBOOKs in Japan

No surprises here since Panasonic already unveiled most its TOUGHBOOKs and its TOUGHPAD last week at CES, but the news here is that these devices will be available in Japan starting from the end of this month for the CF-19, CF-31 and CF-H2 series, middle of February for the CF-C2 and middle of March for the FZ-G1 or TOUGHPAD.
But let’s start with the FZ-G1 or TOUGHPAD. Available in two flavors with a WWAN model and a Wireless-LAN one only the FZ-G1 will come by default with Windows 8, an …

Panasonic announces the Toughbook SX2 business PC

Panasonic‘s Toughbook line of durable laptops has come a long way, with the first models looking akin to something you would use to transport nuclear launch codes. Over time, the laptop line has transformed into something sleeker and smaller, but no less durable. Today Panasonic announced the arrival of the Toughbook SX2, a business PC.

The Toughbook SX2 runs on an Intel Core i5 3.3GHz processor with Turbo Boost Technology. The machine weighs in at 3.13lbs, and is approximately 40% smaller than previous models, with a magnesium alloy chassis. The LED-backlit display measures in at 12.1 inches with an HD+ (1600×900) resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The webcam can record in 720p high-definition, and has a built-in microphone. Ports include three USB 3.0 slots, VGA, HDMI, and an SD card slot. The battery life clocks in at 14.5 hours.

What about its durability? The SX2 has a drop height of 12 inches when turned off, with the exception of a drop to its base, which the device can handle while on or off up to 30 inches. The lid and base are rated for over 220lbs of pressure. For security, the SX2 is equipped with a hard drive/user/supervisor lock, a cable lock, Computrace, TPM security chip v1.2, Intel’s Anti-Theft Technology, and optional biometrics security.

The Toughbook SX2 is designed for mobility, which it seems to achieves with its thin and lightweight design. The wide array of features, high battery life, and durability combine the SX2 into a machine that seems as like it will function well as both an workstation and an everyday system. This laptop will be available later in October from authorized Panasonic resellers. The price starts at $2,649.

Panasonic releases the Toughbook SX2, a laptop that’ll take no prisoners at the quarterly conference

    Image

If you’re in the market for a laptop that won’t buckle if you start flinging it across the room, Ballmer-style, then Panasonic’s “business ruggedized” Toughbook SX2 might be for you. Resembling one of the company’s Let’s Note units, the 12.1-inch unit boasts of a difficult-to-believe 14.5 hours of battery life, a slim yet sturdy magnesium alloy body and a 3.3 GHz Intel Core i5-3320M Turbo-boosted CPU. It’ll arrive later this month, with the base model making a $2,649 sized hole in your company’s procurement budget — and if you’d like to know more, there’s the obligatory hairy-chested press release after the break.

Panasonic Toughbook SX2 brings tough to business notebooks

When it comes to churning out rugged devices, no other name seem to do it better than Panasonic of Japan. In fact, they do provide updates to previous Toughbooks in the past, and their latest effort involves the Panasonic Toughbook SX2, touted to be one of the more rugged notebooks around. Panasonic claims an unprecedented 14.5 hours of battery life on the road – although we do wonder just how it will perform when placed in our hands.

An Intel Core i5-3320M vPro processor runs underneath the hood (3MB cache, up to 3.3GHz), sporting Intel Turbo Boost Technology, where it is accompanied by a 12” LED display, a 720p webcam, USB 3.0 ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in optical drive that is cleverly integrated in an unusual manner as seen above, all crammed into a lightweight, drop-resistant magnesium alloy design that is said to be able to shrug off a 30-inch drop to base while on/off, as well as a 12-inch drop on all other surfaces when turned off. The Panasonic Toughbook SX2 will be available later in the month from $2,649 upwards, depending on the configuration of your choice, but that will come with a standard three-year limited warranty.

I am quite the klutz, where toys that have been working just fine all these years, when handed down to me, would apparently arrive at the end of their lives without me having to make an effort. I am not quite sure just what this is the case, perhaps it is some sort of subconscious thing, or has my family been secretly plotting to have me believe that I am a true blue klutz? Having said that, I have yet to drop a mobile phone into the toilet bowl all these years, and I do not intend to start. I did crack a screen on my smartphone before, but that was a one-off experience that I shall not venture into. Having said that when it comes to computers, one too, might want to be more careful, especially since notebooks are not the cheapest things in town that you can purchase a replacement when you break yours. Panasonic has racked up quite a reputation for itself in terms of rugged notebooks, and today, we hear of them upgrading the Panasonic Toughbook 53.

The semi-rugged Toughbook 53 notebook has proven itself to be a reliable and versatile servant over the years to many people in demanding industries such as the insurance market, those who deal with construction sites, as well as battle hardened folks in the military. The updated Toughbook 53 will be the latest model that will be made available with an Intel Core i5-3320M vPro processor (3MB cache, up to 3.3 GHz) with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, where some of the other enhancements will include expanded storage and improved connectivity options.

Other hardware features of the Toughbook 53 include a spill-resistant keyboard, and this particular puppy has been certified by an independent third party to pass nine MIL-STD-810G tests, ranging from surviving 3 foot drops on 26 faces. Having said that, the high-definition, 14” LED display still went strong without a crack, and you can also opt to splash more cash to enjoy viewing the optional 2-850 nit sunlight-viewable Panasonic CircuLumin touchscreen display coupled with an adjustable backlit emissive keyboard so that you can work even if there is no light or the environment is just way too bright for normal notebooks.

The Toughbook 53 will also come with a range of embedded wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and optional 4G LTE or 3G Gobi mobile broadband so that you need not worry about being disconnected no matter which part of the world you are in.

Depending on the hardware configuration of the Panasonic Toughbook 53, prices start from $1,399 upwards and it comes with a standard three-year limited warranty.

Panasonic Toughbook 19 gets Ivy Bridge upgrade, small price bump

Panasonic Toughbook 19 gets Ivy Bridge upgrade, small price bump

There’s no doubt Panasonic keeps its Toughbook 19 line updated with the recent times, and today’s no exception. This time out a processor upgrade is the main change, with the company announcing the rugged convertible will now ship sporting one of Intel’s latest CPU creations — a Core i5-3320M vPro, to be precise. That’s not all, however, since there are also improvements in battery life, the addition of USB 3.0 ports and the option to load it with a beefier 500GB hard drive. Naturally, these nice enhancements had a mild effect on the price tag, making the jump from the previous starting price of $3,349 to a slightly heftier $3,549. But, hey, if you’re already spending that much, 200 extra bucks shouldn’t cause you any sweats.
