Robotic toys aren’t that uncommon on the market today. Some of them are more like engineering projects than toy kits, but others are designed for people that just want to play. Toy manufacturer WowWee has announced a new robot aimed at kids looking for a simple robot to play with. The robot is called RoboMe […]
If you’re a fan of the mythical Thor or the Marvel superhero Thor, we’ve got something new and interesting that you will really appreciate. A new Thor-themed battery charger has debuted that takes the form of Thor’s hammer Mjölnir. The battery designed to recharge electronic devices is hidden in the head of the hammer.
The hammer looks very much like the one that Thor wields in the new movie in theaters right now. The battery charger measures 5.1″ x 3.1″ x 2″ and weighs up to one pound depending on capacity. It has a full-size USB port and a micro-USB port that can provide 2.1A of power. The hammer also has integrated LED lights and a speaker offering sound effects when you swing it.
You can purchase the battery charger with three different battery capacities stuffed inside the hammerhead. The smallest is a 2600 mAh battery with a middleweight version packing 5200 mAh of power. The biggest battery has 10,400 mAh of juice. The biggest battery needs 10 full hours to recharge. Sadly, it’s currently only available in Asia at this point.
This would look great along with your Thor bookends

Check out these awesome kids blocks from Invisible Creature. These colorful blocks are called Stack and Scare for obvious reasons. You stack ‘em up and have a good scare with the monsters that you create. There are four different sets of stackable wooden blocks that look like monster parts.
The pieces contain eyeballs, teeth, horns, heads, arms, legs, hands, feet, everything you need to create your monsters. The Stack and Scare blocks are available to purchase online at Uncle Goose for $48(USD) a set.
LEGO is great, but these blocks are really colorful and fun in their own way. I think many adults would have just as much fun as the kids when playing with these sets.

If you ever watched a professional automotive racing event, whether it was NASCAR or something else, you undoubtedly noticed that the cars tend to bump into each other a lot. The more the vehicles bump into each other, the more their performance is degraded. Griffin has unveiled a new iOS controlled racing car called the Moto TC Rally that brings the “rubbin’ is racing” mentality to the toy world.
The Moto TC Rally is a remote control car that uses an iOS application for control. The coolest part about the car is its Bump n’ Run feature. That feature uses impact sensors around the car to know when your competitors run into you. You can score points for causing damage to competitors and the more virtual damage your vehicle sustains, the worse your car handles and drives.
You can also just race the cars and the app has a built-in lap counter. The app also offers a number of power ups allowing you to repair your vehicle and add virtual armor. You can also deploy attacks on your opponents including the ability to mix up their controls and make them go slower. The Moto TC Rally is available now for $99.99(USD).
The smartphone these days come with a fair amount of apps, so much so that the phrase “There’s an app for that” has become a standard clarion call in the industry, especially among developers who hope to strike it big with the next smartphone app. Well, apart from games, there is also another potential market that might be worth exploring, and that would be using the smartphone as a remote control to get some unique hardware “gaming” time in. I am referring to the $59.99 Smartphone Helicopter in this particular case.
For those who have had the experience in the past, flying a toy helicopter might not be the easiest thing to do, and the “returns” in terms of flying time are more or less diminishing. After all, you charge the toy’s battery for a few hours only to be granted a few minutes’ worth of flying time. The Smartphone Helicopter will not be any different here, but instead of a dedicated physical controller, you will instead use your smartphone with the free app to get it going. The Smartphone Helicopter will pair up with your smartphone via Bluetooth, and you’re good to go. It will play nice with all iPhone and iPad models, Android smartphones and tablets and Bluetooth-enabled iPod models.

Titanfall is an upcoming online multiplayer FPS for the Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. It seems to be one of the better launch titles for the Xbox One, putting an emphasis on agility and speed while rockin’ some sweet-looking mecha. A Japanese custom toy maker appears to have the same strengths. He managed to make a replica of the game’s giant robot, even though the game isn’t out yet.
I could very well be mistaken, but I’m guessing the toy maker uses the moniker nammkkyys. What I gleaned from his blog is that he based his replica on the publicly available trailers and images of Titanfall, as well as the large Titan bust that was shown at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. What makes his feat even more impressive is that he made it from scratch; it’s not a mod of an existing action figure. I think he took a few liberties here and there, but overall he did a great job. The action figure is about 9.5″ tall, which by the toy maker’s estimate makes it a 1/30 scale replica.
Check out nammkkyys’ blog for more images of the impressive Titan action figure. Be sure to check his previous posts to see his work in progress images; those will give you a better idea of his skill and dedication. Seeing as Respawn Entertainment i.e. Titanfall’s developer itself was the one who spread the word about nammkkyys’ work, I wouldn’t be surprised if he scores a free copy of the game for his work.

Hot Wheels’ toy cars let kids pretend they’re hotshot racers. The company’s new Car Maker model kit on the other hand, lets them be factory workers. The kit has a machine that turns a stick of wax into a car body by pressing it into a heated mold. The resulting car body can then be customized with a chassis and stickers.
The molding machine has voice prompts that walk you through the steps for making a car. The machine has a compartment that heats the molds and a chute on top for the wax sticks. It takes about 8 minutes to turn a stick into a car body. There’s a demo video of the kit on Hot Wheels’ website, but in the meantime you can check out the ad below:
The Hot Wheels Car Maker is available on Amazon for $40 (USD). Each kit comes with 10 wax sticks, two molds, three chassis and three sheets of stickers. You can also buy more wax sticks and other kinds of car molds. And if you have a kid, you will buy more wax sticks and car molds.

Walking Dead Animated Teddy Bear Girl makes it just in time for the Season 4
Posted in: Today's ChiliSince we are about to approach the end of October, that can only mean one thing – Halloween is well on its way, which means one ought to start making the relevant preparations in place, such as party favors, candy, and of course, presents for those whom you think deserve one. To set aside $199.99 for the Walking Dead Animated Teddy Bear Girl is a sign that you are an avid fan of the rather graphic comic series which has since seen a TV series (the fourth season is about to premier!) and a computer game to boot. This is an officially licensed Walking Dead memorabilia, and would definitely be an unforgettable addition to your Halloween collection as it comes in a life-size reproduction of a zombie girl.
To make things creepier, “she” is voice activated, pretty much in the same way that noise more or less attracts zombies in both the comic and TV series. Something about zombies do bug me, however, why can’t we wait until all of their teeth have rotted out, that they are unable to sink into our juicy flesh? Well, that is just one aspect of my doubt for this genre of undead, but then again, millions of Walking Dead fans cannot be wrong, and the awesome first time we saw Rick Grimes in the TV series get confronted by a girl wearing teddy bear slippers, and yet is deadly, is one that remains seared in my memory. Since she’s sound activated, it would be the ideal tool to have to scare trick or treaters who walk up your home. Powered by a quartet of AA batteries, she won’t rot – ever, and does not need to survive on human brains.

I have very strong memory of the first video game I ever played. I don’t remember exactly what year it was, but I remember being very young and going to a pizza place with my dad for lunch and they had a arcade table game of Pac-Man. I can remember seeing several other table style arcade games in restaurants in the 80s, but I never remember seeing one that was Space Invaders.
In fact, the only Space Invaders I remember from the 80s was on the Atari. At any rate, an awesome retro gaming piggy bank has turned up that is based on Space Invaders. Rather than looking like on the vertical arcade machines were used to from the 80s, and that we’ve seen turned into banks before, this one it’s like one of those console tables.
The bank is made by Takara Tomy and you can actually play Space Invaders on the tiny little LCD screen on top of the bank. The device can hold up to 80 coins and the LCD will show you how much money you’ve saved. Power comes from three AA batteries. You can order one of these for yourself in the UK for £34.95.
