A Projector Camera That Adds Wacky Animations Can't Just Be for Kids

Photography is a lovely hobby for adults who’ve developed the requisite patience to wait for the perfect shot. But for kids? Not so much. They demand more instant gratification, so Hasbro has created the Showcam, a digital camera targeted at kids that lets them add effects and hilarious animations to photos, and even project them on a wall for all to see.

E.T. LEGO Set Brings Back the 80s

I think one of the coolest things LEGO has ever done was to launch the LEGO Cuusoo website. This is the place where you can go to vote on DIY LEGO builds that could eventually become kits you can actually go to the store and purchase. Last time we talked about this was when the Goonies LEGO set turned up on the website.

This time out it’s another 80s childhood favorite of mine with an E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial LEGO kit complete with flying bicycle and little brown alien.

The guy behind the LEGO kit says it would have about 575 pieces, including the medical van, Elliott’s house, hooded scientists, Gertie, Michael, and a pack of Reese’s Pieces. There’s even E.T.’s Speak and Spell and Elliott’s bicycle, complete with a basket for E.T. to take flight in.

The kit is up on the Cuusso site right now if you’d like to vote for it. If it happens to make it through to the next round, we might be able to buy one down at the local Walmart someday.

Tauntaun 12″ Talking Plush looks cute

tauntaun-plushAre you a huge fan of Star Wars? It is a space opera that has full of intrigue, action, and some romance thrown into the mix as well. Most of the themes tend to be rather grown up in nature, but once in a while, it is nice to make things smaller – so that it looks cuter. Tauntauns tend to be cute in the first place if you like real life animals like camels and the yak, except that this is part of a science fiction setting. This $29.99 Tauntaun 12″ Talking Plush loves to be hugged, as when that happens, it will be able to make little bleats and gurgles.

Not only is it cute, it is also highly collectible, since it is made in limited quantities being a Star Wars Celebration Europe II (2013) exclusive. This makes it the ideal addition to for any serious Star Wars collector, where it boasts a tridactyl rear foot which sports a “Star Wars Celebration Europe” that is embroidered at the bottom. Once the pair of LR44 batteries die off, he will no longer bellow whenever you hug his neck. Well, what are you waiting for? Once they’re gone, they’re literally extinct unless you scour online auction and sales sites.

Barbie’s always been on the cutting edge of fashion, but now she’s on the bleeding edge of technology too with a new light-up dress that lets kids completely customize its design. It’s almost like she’s wearing a Lite-Brite, but instead of impaling her with colored plastic pegs, kids simply tap on the LEDs to turn them on and change their color.

BeeWi KickBee Bluetooth Mini Robot can play soccer or sumo

I’m a sucker for robotic remote control toys and a company called BeeWi has a new toy that like-minded geeks might find interesting called the BBZ150 Bluetooth Mini Robot. This little robot is very small measuring in at 6.5 cm x 6.2 cm x 7.7 cm. The bot is controlled via a smartphone application rather […]

Star Wars Battling Fighters Set settles the score once and for all

star-wars-battling-racerThe space opera known as Star Wars has six major films shot about it in total, and we do know that there will be a third trilogy coming our way thanks to the folks over at Disney. However, debates continue to rage on by fanboys, and depending on whose side of the fence you are on, the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire ought to rule the galaxy for good. One of the epic moments in the movies would be the space fighter battles, where various X-Wings, Y-Wings and A-Wings go up against a variety of TIE Fighters, and the X-Wing is the definitive starship fighter (“S Foils in attack position!”) for the Rebel Alliance, while the TIE Advanced fighter that was piloted by Darth Vader with a hyperspace engine saved the Dark Lord of the Sith’s rear end when he was blasted out of the Death Star’s trench, is one worth adversary.

Who is better? Why not settle the score once and for all with the $99.95 Star Wars Battling Fighters Set, where the respective ships happen to be a wee bit wider compared to the track. Should Darth Vader in his TIE Advanced manages to catch up to Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing and the latter nudged off the track, all hope is lost for the galaxy. Integrated LEDs in the ships will light up whenever they racing, and the 12-foot figure-eight track bears glow-in the-dark striping for nighttime runs.

Zombie Cribbage lets you set your own zombie apocalypse scenario

zombie-cribbageHave you ever considered the scenario of a zombie apocalypse? If you have answered in the affirmative, then you might want to consider the £14.99 Zombie Cribbage. This is the classic parlor game that, pun not intended, just will not die, as you have your very own zombified deck of playing cards. I guess when the real undead actually come a-knockin’ on your doors, trying to get some fresh supply of brains, having something to do in order to while away your time would be useful, making the Zombie Cribbage an essential survival bunker accessory.

The Zombie Cribbage happens to deliver an undead twist to the 17th Century card game, where it will arrive with a zombified deck of playing cards, which means there is no need for a standard and boring cribbage board and pins. Instead, you will end up with an open cobbled street and a rabble of gormless staggering zombies, and thankfully, these zombies do not look as though they are as fast as the ones in World War Z.

I Would Totally Freak Out If I Saw This Man Flying on a Broom

For a second, I was stunned that a flying broom can lift a human into the air. Then I realized how silly I am. And then I secretly wished it were true that people could fly on brooms. Then I swore that some angles of the video looked real. And then I realized that it’s just a super slick RC plane created to look like a man flying on a broom. Still. I want to believe that people can fly.
