Remote Control Eagle

Ever wished that you had one of those falcons or hawks under your care, where they would be able to look out on your behalf at the same time increase your coolness factor by +1? deviantART member/LEGO enthusiast/alien host Carlos Valero made this life-size LEGO replica of the facehugger from the Alien series. It’s not the scariest replica of the facehugger that I’ve seen, but it is the only LEGO creation that I find repulsive. I never thought I’d be creeped out by LEGO.
Rest in peace Carlos.
I guess we’ll see a LEGO chestburster a few days from now. We need a bigger version of the LEGO Power Loader stat.

When Lego introduced the Mindstorms EV3 earlier this year, it bundled building instructions for five “hero” models, several of which can be seen in our CES hands-on. But that complex kit of sensors, modules and bricks lends itself to endless possibilities, and Lego community members have come up with 12 more designs, three of which were unveiled today. These include a dinosaur, a guitar and a whack-a-mole-style arcade game.
From our brief hands-on, all three models seem worthy additions to the original lineup. We enjoyed the sauntering steps of the mini triceratops and the way it snaps and backs off from obstacles, the fun bloops and bleeps of the guitar, and delighted in the sheer satisfaction of bopping a popped “mole.” The latter two, particularly, are decidedly whimsical implementations compared to the usual ambling robot — and we can’t wait for Lego reveal the rest of the bonus models later this year.

Star Trek TNG Enterprise D Ship
Posted in: Today's ChiliTrekkies, here is something for you! The $59.99 Star Trek TNG Enterprise D Ship would certainly make any Star Trek fan drool at the mouth, or if you are a seasoned fan who has seen and done it all, how about just licking your lips in anticipation? The Star Trek TNG Enterprise D Ship comes across as a detailed 17″ model of the USS Enterprise-D, and as you use your imagination to “fly” it through new frontiers, coming across imaginary aliens and being involved in epic space battles with the narrowest of escapes, it will also be made all the more realistic with the inclusion of sound effects and sayings by good ol’ Captain Picard.
The engines will be able to light up, and to further tickle your imagination, there is a separating saucer section to remain true to itself. It is best to “play” with the Star Trek TNG Enterprise D Ship when all the lights in your room are turned off in the middle of the night, as space is always dark. The separating saucer section is held together by a magnet, and it is powered by a trio of LR44 batteries while a trio of AAA batteries would keep the main segment of the ship going.

Dr. Who Building Block Set
Posted in: Today's ChiliAre you a huge fan of all things Dr. Who? If you have answered in the affirmative, then you might be interested in the $25.99 Dr. Who Building Block Set, where it allows you to use your imagination and recreate your own time lord adventures. This is a chance for you to play with big boys’ toys, without breaking the bank, of course. With the Dr. Who Building Block Set, you can replicate your very own miniature TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimensions in Space) travel vehicle, where it comes in the classic form of the blue police box.
Apart from that, the Doctor and Miss Amy will also tag along for the ride. The Eleventh Doctor and Miss Amy Pond will be to accompany you on your journey via 53 constructive pieces, where the pieces are completely compatible with LEGO blocks, so the entire end result depends on your imagination, really. It is virtually limitless, somewhat akin to real time travel, although you might find yourself forking out more money eventually because you want to top it up with additional LEGO blocks.

Residents and tourists in Hong Kong this week were greeted with a very strange sight floating in Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbor. A gigantic rubber duck is currently floating in the harbor. Yes, you read that right a gigantic six-story tall rubber duck is currently invading Hong Kong harbor.
Had the dock surfaced off the coast of Japan, I think we would be on the lookout for Godzilla. The massive 650-inch tall rubber duck was created by a Dutch artist named Florentijn Hofman. It’s unclear exactly why the artist created this gigantic duck.
What is clear is that it’s strange and incredibly popular with kids. Hong Kong is the latest destination for the gigantic duck, it had previously been displayed in Osaka, Sydney, São Paulo, Auckland, and Amsterdam. Rather than actually being made from rubber, as you would expect of a rubber duck, it’s actually a gigantic inflatable.
According to the artist the massive duck had to be deflated due to high winds and big waves in the bay. The massive duck will be anchored in Victoria Harbor for display through June. This is the perfect opportunity for some pranksters to fill the bay with bubble soap.
