Ted R Rated Talking Plush

Did you watch the movie Ted last year? If you have (and even if you have not, but find this animated teddy bear to be extremely cute although it can be rather obnoxious), then you might want to get the $14.99 Ted R Rated Talking Plush to be part of your comfort toys collection. Sure, this is one dirty bear – in the verbal sense, of course, and is far from cute compared to the Snuggle bear, but it will definitely be a friend for your entire life (as long as its stitches hold up, of course).

The Ted R Rated Talking Plush certainly lives up to its reputation, and will feature 5 phrases from the Ted movie, such as “Yeah, I mean, y-you know when you sewed me up you put some of the stuffing in the wrong places so I’m – I’m a little f—ed up, but will you take care of me for ever and ever?… Aha! I’m just kidding you! I thought it’d be funny if you thought I was f—ing retarded.” to “You ever hear a Boston girl have an orgasm? ‘Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Harder! Harder! Oh, God, that was so good! Now I’m gonna stuff my f—in’ face with Pepperidge Farm.’”, “Well you never should’ve trusted me. I’m on drugs!”, “Alright c’mon, let’s sing the Thunder Song. When you hear the sound of thunder, don’t you get too scared. Just grab your Thunder Buddy and say these magic words: F— you, Thunder! You can suck my d— You can’t get me, Thunder, ’cause you’re just God’s farts.” and “Oh f— that. It’s been 4 years, Johnny! You and me have been together for 27 years. Where’s my ring, huh? Where’s my ring, a——? Where’s my ring, mother f—er? Put it on my fuzzy finger, you f— C’mon!” Ted can talk as long as his trio of AA batteries have juice, of course.

Bubble Copter R/C

A remote controlled toy is something that most boys or little kids would want to own as a present, even back in my younger days when the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was the hottest property that small children could own to while their time away during the summer holidays. Well, now that I am all grown up and have my own money to spend, I just realized that remote controlled toys are not exactly cheap, but the $44.99 Bubble Copter R/C is definitely something worth checking out.

The Bubble Copter R/C is a 3.5 channel co-axial R/C helicopter that will not only respond to your every command whenever you control it around, but it is also capable of shooting bubbles out as you fly, making it a fun toy to tease your dog or your cat with. Of course, woe to you if you fly the shebang too low to the ground, and your extremely agile pooch makes that leap of faith and brings the Bubble Copter R/C crashing down to earth with its jaws. A charge time of 40 to 50 minutes results in flying time of just 5 to 7 minutes, which is extremely poor returns, not to mention you need half a dozen AA batteries to get the entire package working. I guess you are paying more for the novelty factor than anything else.

Michael Bay Is Why Transformers Got So Complicated

Have you tried to put together a Transformer lately? Without an instruction booklet, you stand a better chance of dismantling a nuclear warhead than making Optimus look like Prime, instead of a 16-wheeler with a robot head for a butt. That wasn’t always the case. More »

Lego Mindstorms EV3 set to invade classrooms

Lego isn’t all just about fun and games. While most kids love to play around with Star Wars Lego sets and craft their own creations out of the plastic connectors, the company wants to bring Legos into the classroom. Lego has announced that their new Mindstorms EV3 robotic sets will be set for classroom use on August 1.

The Lego Mindstorms sets are built to actively engage students and teach them about various fundamentals in the fields of science, technology, and engineering. The Lego sets come with digital workbooks, so teachers shouldn’t have a hard time learning about the new platform before handing them over the students.

We briefly got a look at the third-generation Mindstorms EV3 sets at CES 2013 back in January, and they essentially allow you to build different kinds of robots that you can control with an app on your iOS or Android device. The educational kits will come with software that will easily guide students through the process of building a Mindstorms robot.

Kits start at $340, and they’re available to pre-order right now. That may a bit on the expensive side, and to equip an entire classroom with these sets would be quite costly, but as with most other educational tools, they should be able to hold up for a few years and be able to go through hundreds of students hands.

Here’s a Skinless, Laughing Elmo to Terrify You Forever

We took a trip to Hasbro’s toy factory, which you can read about here, but there the most indelible image we came away with was this animatronic Elmo, without his plush skin, laughing us into a shallow grave. More »

Where the Toys Come From: Inside Hasbro’s Model Workshop

Designing toys takes sketching and planning and imagining, sure. But what’s even more impressive is the actual making—still a much more industrial and craftsmanlike process than you’d imagine. It requires, essentially, a whole factory condensed into a few rooms of Hasbro’s headquarters outside of Providence, Rhode Island. More »

The First He-Man Toy Commercial: Master of the Universe, Master of Marketing

Fresh off of Star Wars, which taught the corporate world how to over-market any property to kids, the 1980s was one of the greatest decades ever when it came to toys—and toy commercials. Originally shown at the Mattel Booth at Comic Con last year, this is believed to be the very first He-Man and The Masters of the Universe toy commercial that originally aired back in 1981 or 1982. Color Capture Car R/C

Are you on the lookout for a new remote control toy in order to live out your childhood fantasies? After all, back when you were a wee lad, you were unable to own one of those remote controlled toys simply because your parents decided that getting one of those for you would spoil you, not to mention the money could have been better spent elsewhere. Well, now that you are working and are your own man, Thinkgeek tempts you with the $29.99 Color Capture Car R/C.

This is one unique remote controlled toy car, where it not only responds to your command from the remote in your hand, it also has a chameleon-like capability, as it captures color from a particular surface to change its lights to be as close as possible to the captured color. To make sure that it does not just go around in circles or figure of 8s on the floor, the Color Capture Car R/C will feature a rotating front axle that allows you to perform fun stunts and tricks. Of course, since it relies on LEDs, bright colors are reproduced best, while dark shades like dark browns and black cannot be reproduced. The remote control is powered by a couple of AA batteries, while the car itself can be charged via a power adapter.

Can You Really Call This Life-Size Iron Man MARK 42 Suit a Figure?

You can balk at the $8,500 price tag that Sideshow collectibles has slapped on this stunning life-size replica of the latest Iron Man armor, but like it or not, this is as close as you’re ever going to get to owning your own. Besides, the real version probably cost Tony Stark half a billion dollars to build, so this is a downright bargain. More »
