Toyota Reveals CarPlay Plans Earlier That ExpectedEarlier this month, Apple announced CarPlay which was basically a rebranding of iOS in the Car. Apple also announced several new partners that would be including the CarPlay feature in their vehicle models, and Toyota was one of them.

However according to Apple’s website, Toyota has been listed as being a partner for future models, versus brands like Ferrari, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo who are expected to debut vehicles with CarPlay later this year.     Audi A3 Is First Car With Integrated 4G LTE Connectivity In The USGerman automaker Audi is all set to score yet another first in the US, being the first company in that part of the world to roll out a vehicle with a built-in 4G LTE wireless data connection, when the 2015 Audi A3 will arrive in the U.S. later this April. If you would like to have the luxury of 4G connectivity in your ride, it will cost you $100 in all for 5GB of bandwidth that is allocated across all half a dozen months (this means you are not getting 5GB monthly), or if you feel that 5GB is not enough, how about settling for the 30GB package for $500 across 30 months?

    Pioneer Reportedly Working On Bringing CarPlay To More VehiclesEarlier this month, Apple unveiled their new vehicle initiative called CarPlay. This was basically a rebranding of iOS in the Car that was shown off last year. CarPlay is a good idea but unfortunately it requires vehicle manufacturers to participate in the program and install the system into vehicles.

    Apple has done a good job of getting a variety of manufacturers to come on board CarPlay, but unfortunately not all vehicle models will get it, so even if there are many manufacturers, there aren’t that many supported vehicles, which is something that Pioneer is hoping to rectify. (more…)

    Gogos New App Lets Passengers Text And Call In Flight

    Gogo has been showing off a new app at the SXSW 2014 festival. The app aims to make in-flight communications a lot easier. Major airlines already offer in-flight Wi-Fi and other connectivity options, Gogo seems heavily invested in the idea of letting passengers make calls and texts while they’re 35,000 feet up in the air. It showed off the app in action to several journalists who were taken up in the company’s private jet.
