Interactive TV Bus Is World’s First

Interactive TV Bus Is World’s FirstJust when you thought that the world of advertising could not get any more interesting, along comes this unique interactive TV bus that has been touted to be the first of its kind in the world. Basically, experts and those with adequate technical know-how spent over 1,000 man hours in order to transform a standard issue double decker bus to create the world’s first interactive TV bus, where one side of it comes covered with over 230,400 LEDs.

This particular bus happens to be owned by Curb, and it has been hailed to tour London already so that it is able to promote the launch of London Live, which happens to be the first dedicated 24/7 TV entertainment channel in the capital.

The size of the screen itself measures a whopping 36 square meters, making it the largest vehicular screen that has been built to date, and it is also the largest outdoor TV screen in London (if you do not take the one in Wembley Stadium into consideration), delivering over 24 billion colors at one hundred frames a second. You know something? I would like to see which would be the first couple that will actually use this unique interactive TV bus to agree to a marriage proposal. Looks like some concepts are realized sooner rather than later.

Verizons’ Epic 12-Tuner DVR Isn’t a Joke

I’ll admit when I first saw this I looked around to see if it was some sort of prank for April Fools’ Day. However, it seems to be legit according to the reports out there. Why exactly does this seem to goo to be true? Well, it’s a DVR with 12 tuners. Anyone constantly fighting with other people in your home to decide who gets to record what programs, this is the DVR for you.

verizon0boxmagnify

The device is called the VMS1100 media server and it has six integrated tuners of its own and can be combined with extender boxes to allow up to 12 shows to record at once. This makes my Dish Hopper whole home DVR with five tuners seem tiny by comparison.

The DVR has 1TB of storage space and it can be connected to up to ten TVs. You can get one if you are on the new Verizon Fios Quantum TV service. Unfortunately, a DVR with this many tuners isn’t cheap. The single box is $22 monthly; the dual setup is $32 a month, and each of the connection boxes for additional TVs costs $10 monthly. Of course, those fees are before you pay a dime for content.

Silicon Valley Deserves Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley Deserves Silicon Valley

Until now, no one adequately embarrassed Silicon Valley on TV. All prior attempts either embarrassed themselves, or fell just short. But Silicon Valley, Mike Judge’s HBO foray into the sociopathic pit of Northern California’s tech scene is beyond adequate: It gives the fuckers the graceful slap across the face they need.
