The Assassin’s Creed franchise has seen a variety of different play settings, covering different parts of history throughout its games. With Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag being the latest title and taking place during the era of pirates, we’re sure many are wondering where the next Assassin’s Creed title could take place next. According to the rumors, it was suggested that feudal Japan could be the next setting for Assassin’s Creed V, but unfortunately those rumors have since been quashed by Ubisoft Toronto executive, Jade Raymond, during an interview with Adweek. We had first caught wind of Obsidian Games’ South Park: The Stick of Truth back in 2012. The game was originally intended for a release in 2013, but due to a series of delays, the game was delayed until March 2014. The good news for gamers who are still patiently (and impatiently) waiting for the game is that the game is finally done and is good to go. This is according to the game’s publisher, Ubisoft, who has revealed that South Park: The Stick of Truth will be released on the 4th of March for a variety of platforms, including the PC, the Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3. Interestingly there was no mention of next-gen consoles but perhaps those will be added at a later date.
For those unfamiliar, South Park: The Stick of Truth is an upcoming RPG game based on the South Park universe and was developed by Obsidian Games when the creators of the cartoon approached them. The game will feature characters familiar to those who are regular followers of the cartoon and will also feature the same voice actors as well, along with a 2D look that has been unique to the television series. If the game is anything like the cartoon, gamers can look forward to a lot of swearing and inappropriate jokes, but then again we’re guessing gamers won’t mind as chance are the people who play this are probably fans of the cartoons themselves. So, who’s looking forward to getting their hands on the game?

Watch Dogs is an upcoming intended for multiple platforms, such as the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Wii U. The game is scheduled to be released later this year, sometime between the 1st of April to the 30th of June, but unfortunately for Wii U gamers, it looks like you guys will be out of luck as Ubisoft has recently confirmed that they will not be releasing the game for the Wii U the same time it is released for the other platforms. Instead the game will be released at a later date although no specifics were mentioned.
According to Ubisoft, “We made the difficult decision to further delay the release of Watch Dogs on Wii U to focus the team’s resources where they could have the broadest possible benefit for both our customers and Ubisoft.” Oddly enough this statement comes after the company expressed their confidence for the Wii U platform just last year, so one would think that maybe prioritizing the console would be on their agenda. We suppose the good news is that the game isn’t cancelled entirely and merely delayed, but at the same time we can only imagine that Wii U gamers can’t be too pleased by this piece of news, and neither can Nintendo who probably needs as many games as they can get on the platform at the moment.

The folks over at Ubisoft have a real treat for you – they are about to deliver what is known as one of the most famous games in the world to next generation consoles, namely the Sony PS4 as well as the Xbox One. Say what? I know, after spending $500 or so on such a console, one might not be expected to actually play a primitive game such as Tetris, especially when you take into consideration just how far the graphics in such a game can go. I did get hooked on Tetris again on Facebook for a while, but after being pwned by so many youngsters who have seemingly insane reflexes, I decided to call it a day. Ubisoft, however, has worked with The Tetris Company in order to develop the Tetris franchise for digital release on the Xbox One and PS4.

Ubisoft States They Will Hesitate To Delay An Assassin’s Creed Game If They Feel It’s Not Ready
Posted in: Today's ChiliWe know that Ubisoft has plans to release Assassin’s Creed on an annual basis, which some aren’t exactly too thrilled about since it does feel like they could be rushing out a game for the sake of it. However Ubisoft has recently stated that they will not be releasing any Assassin’s Creed game if they feel that it is not good enough, and will have no qualms in delaying it until it is fixed. This is a response to some who felt that last year’s Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed 3, was a bit rushed due to the numerous bugs and glitches that were found within the game.
According to a statement released by Ubisoft, “If we think we’ve ended up with a 70 percent Assassin’s Creed game, we’re not going to ship it. That damages the brand. I’m not going to give you the names of products, because you know them as well as I do, but if you start to make games at 70 percent, even with a big brand, eventually people are going to change their mind about that brand. They won’t want it anymore.”
While Ubisoft was not explicit in naming names, chances are they could be talking about EA’s Battlefield 4, where the publisher is currently looking at a lawsuit over the game’s bugginess, which was a stark contrast from the confidence EA exuded when making statements about the game prior to its release. In any case hopefully Ubisoft and other developers will learn from EA’s predicament.

Prior to the start of December, Microsoft announced it would be making two games in its catalog available for free through the company’s Games with Gold program for Xbox 360 owners who are also Xbox Live Gold members. The first half of the month would be dedicated to giving Xbox 360 players Gears of War, a third-person shooter that was released seven years ago which we’re sure you probably played some point in time if you own the console. The second half of the month would feature Ubisoft’s Shoot Many Robots, and as you can probably see from today’s date, the game will be free starting today up until the end of the year. (more…)
