Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag PlayStation Exclusives Will Remain Exclusives Indefintely

Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag PlayStation Exclusives Will Remain Exclusives IndefintelyAs gamers are well aware of, certain video game DLCs are exclusive to a particular platform for a while before being made available to other console gamers, such as Skyrim’s DLCs which were exclusive to the Xbox 360 for a while before being released to PlayStation 3 and PC gamers. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag where the game’s PlayStation DLCs will remain PlayStation DLCs exclusively indefinitely. This means that gamers looking forward to the extra levels that star Aveline, who made her debut in Assassin’s Creed: Liberation for the PS Vita, will be out of luck.

This was confirmed by Ubisoft to Eurogamer, stating that the PlayStation exclusive DLC is not being planned for the Xbox 360 or the Xbox One for the moment, and that it will be exclusive to PS3 and PS4 gamers. The game was recently released for current-gen consoles and is expected to see a release for the PC, the Wii U, and next-gen consoles n November. Ubisoft has also recently confirmed that Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag for the Wii U will also not be getting access to DLCs as well although it was not stated why. Any PC/Xbox 360/Xbox One gamers bummed out by this piece of news?

Will Watch Dogs Delay Jeopardize PS4/XB1 Bundle Pre-Orders?

Will Watch Dogs Delay Jeopardize PS4/XB1 Bundle Pre Orders? As you may recall from our E3 2013 coverage, Watchdogs was one of the best on-stage demo and game trailer of the show. The concept of using computer hacking in addition of traditional weapons and fights was interesting and got people excited. The anticipation was high enough to get Sony and Microsoft working on their launch bundles (special editions) that included the game.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has since confirmed that the game will come out in “Spring 2014”, which means that it will be a good 6-months late (the fact that trailer was not rendered in real-time should have been a warning sign). Now the question is whether or not those who have pre-ordered their console as part of a Watch Dogs Bundle will receive their next-gen PS4/Xbox One in time for the holidays. There is clearly enough reasons to get anxious. (more…)

This morning’s announcement came with word that the company would also be adjusting financial targets for the coming season, […]

Watch Dogs calls out GTA V: 2 months is enough

Suggesting that both games are tied inextricably to their city-based environments, Ubisoft has called out Rockstar Games with an advertisement for Watch Dogs at the expense of Grand Theft Auto 5 this afternoon. The game GTA V is an “open sandbox” game which allows the user to run freely through the fictional island-based city of […]

Ubisoft’s Uplay social gaming platform coming to PS4 and Xbox One

    Watch Dogs

Ubisoft’s Uplay has a mixed reputation; while it brings rewards and social elements to games, it’s also known for its internet-based copy protection and occasional security risks. However much you like the service, it’s sticking around — Ubisoft has confirmed that Uplay is coming to both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The “full scope” of the service’s features will be available in the company’s games for both platforms, including launch titles like Assassin’s Creed 4 and Watch Dogs. Whether or not that includes copy protection isn’t clear, however; there’s no word of any DRM beyond what’s built into the consoles. We’ve reached out to Ubisoft for clarification, and we’ll let you know if it sheds more light on the subject.
