XBMC For Android Released

XBMC for Android has just rolled out, which took several months of hard work to complete. This version of XBMC for Android ought to be fully functional on just about any Android-powered device out there without running into any issues, where it is jam packed with plenty of cool features which make XBMC far more than just a regular media center, but instead, will be positioned as a media platform that delivers the complete online streaming experience to an easy to navigate system on your Android mobile phone, tablet or set top box.

Needless to say, the XBMC for Android will come with its fair share of improvements, and although there is still no support for hardware accelerated video decoding on a majority of devices, this version has been customized to use an external video player so that it can deliver the full hardware accelerated video decoding that is required to enjoy XBMC fully, and who knows, the end user might actually consider it to be the primary entertainment tool at home? Well, are you going to give XBMC for Android a go or not?

Blackberry 10 Device Could Go On Sale On 28th February Via Best Buy Canada

bb10 launch date Blackberry 10 Device Could Go On Sale On 28th February Via Best Buy CanadaWhile the Blackberry 10 Z10 is expected to see a launch on T-Mobile’s network come 27th of March (keeping in mind that this has yet to be confirmed), those of you in Canada might be pleased to learn that according to a leaked photo, a certain Blackberry 10 device is supposedly set to go up for sale in Best Buy Canada come February 28th and will be priced at $799.99. Unfortunately it was not revealed as to which particular Blackberry 10 model this is, but considering that word on the street has it that RIM could unveil both the Z10 and the X10 (QWERTY Blackberry 10 device), chances are that this could be in reference to either model, although we have a feeling that it could be the former. This coincidences with RIM’s COO promising that Blackberry 10 devices will be made available within 30 days of launch, which makes the 28th of February date seem a bit more plausible. That and the fact that this is Best Buy Canada which is in RIM’s hometown, we wouldn’t be surprised if the company were to play favorites. We’ll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled so stay tuned for more updates, but in the meantime do take this with a grain of salt.

[CES 2013] When it comes to point-and-shoot cameras, the name already implies that these are probably the most basic cameras and will be good enough to get the job done, just don’t expect to be able to have full control over the camera that you would with a DSLR, or maybe a more prosumer camera.

That being said, Olympus could be looking to destroy that notion by announcing the Stylus SH-50, a point-and-shoot camera that not only offers a long zoom (24x 25-600mm equivalent), but at the same time offering up 5-axis video stabilization, a feature which the company is boasting makes it the first point-and-shoot camera to offer that. On top of the 5-axis video stabilization, and it should be worth noting that these features were only previously offered on the Olympus OM-D E-M5 flagship interchangeable lens camera.

buffalo wli u2 866d dongle Buffalo WZR 1750DHP and WZR 1166DHP routers have new User Interface

[CES 2013] Buffalo is coming up with a couple of new WiFi 11ac routers named Buffalo WZR-1750DHP ($179) and Buffalo WZR-1166DHP ($149). From what we understand, they look very much like the current Buffalo WZR-D1800H in terms of features and performance. However, they will come with Buffalo’s new user interface which makes the most used features (password, guest network… etc) easy to access and setup. Obviously there is still an “advanced” mode for users who want total control over their router setup. Buffalo has mentioned the possibility of adding a parental control feature, but isn’t sure if this particular revision of the product will have it a final decision on the matter should come soon.
