Jurassic Park 4 delayed indefinitely

It was announced back in January that Jurassic Park 4 would be released next year on June 13, officially bringing back the aging franchise. However, it turns out that the movie has been put on hold. Universal Studios has confirmed that the movie is delayed indefinitely, which has us wondering if the Jurassic Part reboot will come back at all.

The news was first speculated after several members of the production crew tweeted about the delay of Jurassic Park 4. Those tweets have since been deleted, but Universal Studios says that the movie, indeed, has been delayed and will be released “at a later date.” However, it seems that the movie will still see the light of day eventually.

Then again, we can’t be too surprised by the delay. A June 2014 release date seemed pretty quick, and while the script is reportedly finished, the production team most likely didn’t feel confident that they would be able to deliver a quality movie by the summer of next year, so it may be another year before we see the next installment come to the big screen.

Of course, while the anticipation of a new Jurassic Park film has us slightly excited, we’re still bitter over the second and third installments in the series, and now that little Timothy is all grown up, we can’t imagine there being a better cast than what we saw in the first Jurassic Park. Nonetheless, we’re keeping our optimism. What about you?

Jurassic Park 4 to hit theaters on June 13, 2014

Fans have been waiting for the fourth installment of Jurassic Park for quite a while now, with many accepting that it might never happen. Back in October, we reported on the alleged concept artwork that had emerged from the scrapped script, which was about as crazy as any script ever could be. Now Universal has just given fans a reason to rejoice – the studio has announced that Jurassic Park 4 will be hitting theaters on June 13, 2014.

Universal Pictures made the announcement on Twitter earlier today with a simple tweet that read: “Breaking News! Jurassic Park 4 is coming June 13, 2014! What do you hope to see in the new sequel?” According to Variety, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver are writing the script. Per the tweet, and not surprisingly, the movie will be in 3D.

Steven Spielberg, who directed Jurassic Park 1 and 2, will produce the movie, but no director has been appointed as of now. It is possible, however, that he could direct the movie, as he has postponed the production of Robopocalypse, and is not locked into any other obligations at the moment. Spielberg hinted back in 2011 that a fourth installment of the series was to be made.

What will the movie be about? No one knows, besides the obvious. Hopefully it won’t be as crazy as the script that surfaced back in 2007, however, which had dog/human/dinosaur hybrids, genetic engineering, strange looking creatures, adrenaline-spiking brain implants, and secret dinosaur-altering facilities in the mountains. In the meantime, fans can see Jurassic Park in IMAX 3D when it is re-released in April.

Oblivion 1080p Movie Trailer revealed with Joseph Kosinski attached

Because you’ve more than likely never heard of the story behind “Oblivion”, you’re going to have to start with a viewing of the trailer and an understanding that this movie was first a graphic novel – aka a comic book. This story is about the future, it’s got a lot of rather confusing elements made to excite your pants off, and you’re going to freak out over the massive amounts of action in the trailer alone. You’ll not know more until the third paragraph of this post after the trailer is viewed.

This movie has Tom Cruise as its head, Morgan Freeman and Olga Kurylenko as well as Andrea Riseborough working to support the lead, and a massive amount of effects. This movie is directed by the same fellow who directed TRON: Legacy, that being Joseph Kosinski, and it’s coming to you via Universal Pictures. Have a peek at the trailer here right this minute!

The original story from Joseph Kosinski (yes, director and original writer) follows the drone repairman here played by Cruise through a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Drones exists throughout this future Earth where the wasteland effect has been made a reality due to a massive war that, as Cruise mentions, we’ve “won”.

This movie will be released in the most massive theaters on the planet sometime in April in the year 2013. You can expect IMAX action from your local massive screens as well as a global release similar to what we saw back when TRON: Legacy was first sent out unto the world. While the film version of this story was originally purchased by Disney back in 2010, a failure to create a product that’d be able to be released with a PG rating resulted in the sale of the movie rights to Universal Pictures.

This movie has a $100 million dollar budget and started filming all the way back in October of 2011. Kosinski was also responsible for the short film “TR2N” which you’ll get to take a peek at below (this being the film that caught the comic book lover’s universe in 2008, two years before the eventual release of TRON: Legacy), and he’ll be directing Tron 3 (whatever it’ll end up being called) as well as The Black Hole (a remake of the 1979 sci-fi classic). Just you wait and see!

Bourne Legacy behind the scenes unleash genetically modified action

This week the folks at Universal Pictures are offering up a closer look behind the scenes at The Bourne Legacy, the next chapter in the super-agent film series. A larger conspiracy has been uncovered in the newest installment of the Bourne timeline, a genetically enhanced agent by the name of Aaron Cross – played by Jeremy Renner – explains his excitement in joining the series as the cameras roll on this action-packed extravaganza. With a storyline that plays out alongside the third film and the Treadstone program, this movie keeps with the fast-paced explosion-loving idiom of the first three films while expanding upon the universe with a whole new chapter in the world of secret agent warfare.

The science of this film – inside the storyline, anyway – is in the modification of the body of the lead character, Aaron Cross. He is subject to both changes in muscle efficiency and pain suppression in the government’s quest to create a perfect force of one-man armies to take out their enemies under heavy cover. Edward Norton plays a vital role in making sure these human experiments do not get out of control, his character Eric Byer subscribing to a “higher morality” as any classic “license to kill” official very well should.

You’ll find de-railed train cars, grinding motorcycles, and lots and lots of gunshots in this film that’ll certainly rely on your believing in the unbelievable in and out of quick-action shots for the entirety of the feature. Pay close attention to the clip near the end of the first video in the embedded player above to see Cross jump straight down quite a few stories off a building to snap the neck of a police officer to see what’s meant by “you must simply believe.”

This film will be in theaters on 8/10/2012 – pick up some early release tickets now or get in line, this is gonna be a big one!
