This sweet kart is due out later this year. It looks pretty awesome. Plus it also makes several power-up/weapon sound effects. Cool. Bring plenty of bananas and turtle shells. It’s gonna be a wild ride.

Hopefully you can fit your big butt on this, because it is targeted primarily at kids after all. Leaner adults should have no problem taking it for a spin though.

These guys really should get together with the guys at Razor though:

Gas-powered Snowboarding: Not an Winter Olympic Event

Many parts of the country are covered in a ton of snow right now. How do you get around when everything looks like the North Pole? Behold the Powerboard Gas-powered Snowboard! This strange looking vehicle combines the power of a snowmobile with the freedom of a snowboard.

It is a powerful way to navigate through winter wonderlands. It has a rugged frame and is powered by a 6-1/2 horsepower engine that effortlessly glides over snowy terrain. Its tank-like rubber track uses 1 3/4″ snow lugs and flexes as you lean in the direction you wish to go for wide, smooth turns. It will transport riders up to 250 lbs. and has a top speed of 18 mph.

It will only give you up to two hours on only 3/4-gallon of gasoline though. Too bad they can’t combine this idea with the solar-panel snowboard for some extra power. Check it out in action in the video below:

It looks like an awesome way to get around during winter, and sells for $2,500(USD) over at Hammacher Schlemmer.

Pontiac Trans Am Turned into a Swing

The Pontiac Trans-Am Firebird is an American classic. How do you make it even more classic? Turn it into a swing and park it in your yard. It beats a swinging tire right? Heck yeah!

YouTube user John D. Lorean took “Blackie,” his old Pontiac Trans Am, and converted it into an actual working swing. His name would imply that he should have used a DeLorean, but hey, those things are expensive and he already had the Trans Am.

It makes an amazing swing since it has comfortable seats, lights and a even built-in stereo. In the video, he presented the swing to Lisa Dalisa as a Christmas present. What a nice guy. That’s one way to get a girl into the back seat.

A Hovercraft That Isn't Afraid of Giant Waves

A Hovercraft That Isn't Afraid of Giant Waves

In order to float across land and water, the giant air-trapping skirt around the base of a hovercraft needs to keep a tight seal at all times. Were it to tackle giant waves, it would get tossed about just like a boat, but unlike a boat it would tend to sink—because that cushion of air would be gone. But an improved design means this hovercraft isn’t afraid of rough seas.

A Fish Drives a Car

A while back we featured a robot vehicle that was made to be driven by a parrot. This one’s meant for fishes. Image recognition specialist Studio diip made Fish on Wheels to showcase its prowess in its field. The vehicle moves by following the movement of the fish inside the tank.

A webcam positioned above the tank feeds video to a Beagleboard, which analyzes the position of the fish by contrasting the animal’s body with the bottom of the tank. The instructions are then sent to the vehicle itself, which is powered by an Arduino.

AeYo is a Rollerblade-Scooter-Bicycle Hybrid

So this is AeYo, and it’s a rollerblade-scooter-bicycle hybrid that offers you an alternative mode of transportation, aside from the usual bike, trike, or scooter.

If you look at how it works, then you’ll see it’s more like a tethered pair of roller skates than anything else. The added handles provided additional balance so you can push forward and go faster with ease. There’s also an optional basket attachment so you can carry groceries and other items.

Aside from letting you go places faster, it also gives you a bit of a workout in the process. According to its makers “The AeYO exercises your fitness, coordination and strength. It is recommended by leading orthopaedists and athletes for its efficiency in therapy and workout.”

It’s pricey though, as the AeYo comes with a €449 (~$610 USD) price tag. It’s available in six colors (red, blue, green, white, gray, black) and two sizes.

Ford Mustang Gets a Pinball Machine: Ponyball!

I’m probably dating myself by saying that two of my passions are Ford Mustangs and pinball machines, but I don’t care. Clearly, there’s a market for old fogies like me, or else Ford and Stern Pinball wouldn’t be teaming up to create a series of Mustang-themed pinball machines.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Mustang, Stern is releasing special pinball machines to honor America’s classic pony car.

There will be three variants of the machine, one which celebrates Mustang heritage, a premium game featuring the Boss 302, Boss 351 and Boss 429, and a limited edition machine which pays homage to both the 1964-1/2 original ‘stang and the shiny new 2015 model.

If you happen to be fortunate enough to be headed to the Chicago Auto Show this month, you might even get a chance to play the machines in person.

The Mustang Pro pinball machine is in production now, and can be ordered from Stern Pinball.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time there was a Mustang pinball machine. That honor goes Chicago Coin Company, who created a Mustang game all the way back in 1964, the year the Mustang was first revealed.

Street-legal Cozy Coupe Doesn’t Look too Cozy

When my son was really small I probably pushed him 1000 miles in his red and yellow Little Tykes Cozy Coupe. I also flopped over the top of that little car a few times when the front wheels randomly stopped working at speed. If you have fond memories of these little toy cars, you might want to check out the street-legal version you can ride in now that you are grown up.

cozycoupemagnify

The car was made by a guy named John Bitmead. The builder says that he spent 1000 hours and about £4,000 (~$6m500 USD) on the project. The car started out as a Daewoo Matiz, has an 800cc engine inside of it and is street legal. It has a top speed of 70mph.

I don’t see how this thing can actually be street legal. I wouldn’t want to be in an accident in this thing, even though it has airbags. Check out the videos to see the car in action.
