Verizon’s Moto G Receives Android 4.4 KitKat

Verizons Moto G Receives Android 4.4 KitKatThe Moto G is Motorola’s latest handset, although in this case it is not one of the company’s highest end products. In fact one might consider the device to hover somewhere between low to mid-ranged. That being said it does come with an affordable price tag, making it a pretty value for money buy for those who want an almost-stock version of Android that gets the job done. Now the downside to the Moto G is that it was launched with an older version of Android, Jelly Bean, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but having the latest version is a good thing, right? Well the good news is that for Verizon owners of the Moto G, there have been reports that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is being pushed out to you as we speak.

The update will bring your version of the Moto G up to 173.44.20.en.US. For those who have yet to receive the notification informing them that an update is ready to be download, you can attempt to manually pull the update by going to your phone’s Settings, About Phone, System Updates, to see if the update can be downloaded. If it is not there, fret not because updates are typically rolled out in phases and we’re sure it will be your turn eventually.

Nokia Lumia Icon Case LeakedThe Nokia Lumia Icon, also known in other circles as the Nokia Lumia 929, happens to be the most recent version of a Windows Phone 8 device from Nokia to hit Verizon, and a slew of new photos that touch on the kind of accessories available for the smartphone has surfaced, with a case being one of them. Samsung Galaxy NotePro 12.2 For Verizon Leaked

Samsung Galaxy NotePro 12.2 For Verizon LeakedDuring CES 2014, Samsung took the wraps off a couple of new tablets, one of them being the Galaxy NotePro 12.2. The tablet has since gone up for pre-order via Office Depot where it will be priced at a whopping $850, but be prepared to fork out more money if you were hoping to get the tablet with Verizon’s LTE connectivity. Thanks to a recently leaked photo from @evleaks, it has been revealed that Verizon will be carrying the Samsung Galaxy NotePro 12.2 as well, and based on the branding, it looks like the tablet will allow for 4G LTE connectivity on Verizon’s network.

Apart from the new radios from Verizon and the carrier’s branding stamped on the back of the tablet, we expect the device to remain the same as it was. This means that would-be customers can look forward to a 12.2-inch Super Clear LCD display with a resolution of 2560×1600. It will also be powered by Samsung’s very own Exynos 5 Octa 5420 processor clocked at 1.9GHz, 3GB of RAM, an S Pen stylus, an 8MP rear-facing camera, and will run on Android 4.4 KitKat. The tablet is expected to be released on Verizon come 13th February and while pricing remains unknown, with the WiFi-only model retailing for $850, we’d hate to think how much the LTE version will cost.

Samsung SM-W750V Windows Phone Gets Pictured

Samsung SM W750V Windows Phone Gets PicturedAccording to our earlier report, Samsung is apparently getting ready to launch a new Windows Phone handset with the model number SM-W750V. The handset is also said to be making its way onto Verizon’s network. If there’s one con of Samsung’s Windows Phone devices is that they tend not to look particularly exciting, at least compared to Nokia’s offerings where they are offered in bright and bold colors and feature interesting designs, which is why the description of the SM-W750V was interesting as it was claimed that it would resemble one of Samsung’s Galaxy S Android devices.

Well thanks to a recent post by @evleaks (who was also the original poster of the initial rumor), a photo of the SM-W750V has made its way online. Upon first glance the handset really looks like one of Samsung’s Galaxy S handsets, sort of an in-between the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S4. If it wasn’t for the Windows logo on the home button, we would have mistaken it for an unannounced Samsung Android device. Of course there’s no telling if this rendering is the real deal, but @evleaks has been pretty consistent so we wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be true. Not much is known about the Samsung Windows Phone handset at the moment, apart from its design, but hopefully we will learn more about the handset in the near future.

New Samsung Windows Phone On The Horizon [Rumor]

New Samsung Windows Phone On The Horizon [Rumor]

If someone asks you about Samsung smartphones, you would probably start listing the very popular Android devices that the company has released over the past few years. They’re definitely something for the company to be proud of, but its not an exclusive manufacturer of Android devices. Samsung also makes Windows Phone smartphones, even though it has been quite a while since the Korean juggernaut released such a device. Rumor has it that Samsung and Verizon are teaming up to launch a new Windows Phone in the U.S.

Verizon Accidentally Rolls Out BlackBerry 10.2.1 Ahead Of Time

UpdateAccording to our report from earlier, BlackBerry 10.2.1 is expected to be officially announced on the 28th of January 2014. When exactly it will roll out remains to be seen and will also depend on your carrier as some carriers require that they approve the update before pushing it out to the masses. Android updates are a perfect example of this. Well it seems that someone at Verizon might have gotten ahead of themselves because according to reports, Verizon has started to push out the BlackBerry 10.2.1 update, with some subscribers receiving the notification as pictured in the screenshot above. For those who are quick on the trigger, they might have already clicked and downloaded the update, but for those who might have been a bit slow or were not part of the initial rollout, Verizon has since put a halt to it.

Presumably this is because the update is not ready to be pushed out yet, at least not until BlackBerry makes it official. According to a statement BlackBerry released regarding the rollout, “A limited number of VZW customers today received the BlackBerry 10.2.1 update however it is not generally available yet. We’ll keep you posted on general availability.” In any case this should serve as an indication that the update is already available on Verizon’s servers and are good to go, meaning that once the update has been made official, it shouldn’t take Verizon too long to begin pushing it out to BlackBerry 10 users.
