Blackberry introduced its new Z30 smartphone back in September, and starting next month enthusiasts will be able to grab it exclusively from Verizon. With the handset comes a 5-inch HD display, as well as options for those who want to go with monthly device payments over a typical two-year contract. Verizon doesn’t specify what day […]
When I think about same-day delivery, the first thing that pop in mind is groceries of course, although none of the available options have worked so well. However, Verizon just announced a same-day delivery for San-Franciscans who want to buy a phone online and get it the same day. The same deal was previously available in Philadelphia. (more…)

Samsung confirmed earlier today that the much awaited Android 4.3 update for U.S. variants of the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 will be rolled out starting today. Just yesterday we saw a leaked document hint at Verizon Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 release on October 28th, which is today. It appears that Verizon may indeed roll out the update later today, Samsung has already gone live with the changelog so its only a matter of time before the update is pushed out over-the-air, barring any last minute issues.
The Verizon Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update build VRUEMJ7 is going to bump up the core OS to Android 4.3 and enable Band 4 LTE. It is also finally going to bring support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch to the Galaxy S4. Support for Samsung KNOX is also going to be added through this update. It appears that Verizon is leading the charge this time around with regards to OS update. Sprint is expected to roll out Android 4.3 on October 30th, followed by AT&T and T-Mobile on 13th and 18th of November respectively. Though as yet, Verizon hasn’t released a confirmation that the update is indeed coming today. So just sit back and keep your fingers crossed, hopefully an OTA update notification will drop shortly.

Just one day after the full press render of the device was leaked, Verizon today confirmed that it is going to launch the BlackBerry Z30 next month for $199 on contract. Big Red tweeted that the device will be available this November, though it didn’t reveal an exact date, so one can only guess when BlackBerry’s new phablet is going to be launched within the 30 days of November. Apparently the BlackBerry Z30 is a Verizon exclusive in the U.S., there has been no indication as yet of any other U.S. carrier launching it as well.
The BlackBerry Z30 was announced back in September, it is the company’s first phablet that has a 5 inch HD display. Customers will be able to purchase it from Verizon next month for $199 along with a two year service contract. Verizon Edge plan is also available for eligible customers who’ll only have to pay $22.91 per month for 24 months. As previously rumored, Verizon’s variant of the BlackBerry Z30 also comes with support for wireless charging. The phablet has a 2,880mAh battery which is said to be good for 25 hours of mixed usage. Hopefully within the next few days Verizon will officially announce the exact release date, so prospective customers can mark their calendars.

Nokia Lumia 929 Leaked On Video
Posted in: Today's ChiliPrior to Nokia World 2013, rumors about a number of unannounced devices were going around. One of those devices was the Nokia Lumia 929. Almost all of the rumored devices were officially announced at the event, but the company didn’t even mention the Lumia 929. That’s probably because this device is said to be an exclusive offering to just one carrier in the U.S., but still, people are wondering exactly when this smartphone is going to come out. Well that is not known up till now, but a new video has surfaced online which shows off the Nokia Lumia 929 in all its glory.
We’ve already heard a lot about the Lumia 929 in the past. It is said to have a 5 inch 1,920×1,080 pixel resolution display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor, 20 megapixel rear camera and Update 3 of Windows Phone 8. The video shows the About and settings screen of the device, and also provides a look at its design. It has the familiar square design upfront, but has a rounded back. As per the video source, Verizon will launch this device around Thanksgiving, so we’ve got more or less a month to go before the Nokia Lumia 929 becomes official. Until then, make do with the leaked material, there’s bound to be more over the next few weeks.

Soon after BlackBerry officially announced the Z30 in September, Verizon confirmed that it will be carrying the device. The carrier is yet to provide a concrete release date, but it is believed that the BlackBerry Z30 will be launched on Verizon come October 31st. We’ve already seen a couple of renders of the Verizon Z30, the phablet has also been spotted in the wild. A new render has been leaked which shows off both the front and back, showing exactly where Verizon has plastered its branding.
Though the carrier hasn’t said anything about this as yet, it has been previously rumored that Verizon may offer an exclusive white version of the BlackBerry Z30, along with one that has wireless charging capability. We’ve yet to receive word from the Big Red on this. Previously leaked document suggests that the Z30 will cost $299.99 along with a two year contract on Verizon. On the device itself, a Verizon logo can be found upfront next to the speaker. Another logo and 4G LTE branding can be found on the rear, towards the bottom of the device. So while we wait on Big Red to announce when this device is going to be available, lets see how many of you are willing to pick up the first BlackBerry phablet. Show of hands? [Image via @evleaks]

There’s a device in development here at the tail end of 2013 by the name of Ellipsis, and its early appearance in patent applications suggest that it’ll aim to change the way users work with data. With the description as a “wireless telecommunications device featuring transmission of voice, data, image and video”, Verizon’s Ellipsis device […]
Back in September after months of being rumored and having its photos leaked, the BlackBerry Z30 was finally launched. There was no mention as to which carrier the handset will be making its way to in the states, although a leaked image did suggest that Verizon, at the very least, would be offering it. Well it turns out that is very true and not only will Verizon carry the device, it looks like they will be getting an exclusive on the handset, meaning that other carriers in the US will not be selling the BlackBerry Z30, at least not anytime in the immediate future.
This is according to a leaked screenshot which reveals that the handset will be priced at $299.99 along with a new 2-year contract, with the handset’s availability pegged for the 31st of October. The BlackBerry Z30, for those unfamiliar, will feature a 5” Super AMOLED HD display and will be powered by a quad-core chipset under the hood, along with a feature BlackBerry is calling “Natural Sound” which supposedly helps to boost audio quality coming from the device. It will also come with a decently sized 2,880mAh battery and will presumably be running on the latest version of BlackBerry 10. So, any Verizon subscribers out there planning on picking up the handset themselves?

We reported last week that the Moto X camera update might come to Verizon branded units soon. The camera update was first rolled out to T-Mobile subscribers, the update basically improved Moto X’s camera performance. Other carriers were scheduled to get this update as well, and they did, Sprint, AT&T and U.S. Cellular all got it. Verizon subscribers can now rejoice, as the Moto X camera update has now been rolled out for them as well.
Keep in mind that this update is primarily focused around camera improvements, it doesn’t bump up the core Android OS version from 4.2 to 4.3. Camera related improvements include enhanced low light performance, swift switching between gallery and camera as well as improved focus times. Viewfinder has been improved for consistent exposure and HDR or High Dynamic Range has been fine tuned as well. A number of bug fixes and system performance improvements make their way into the update as well. Call quality has been improved, and so is touchless control accuracy. The usual slew of bug fixes can also be found onboard. Data stability and stall has been improved for both 3G and 4G connections. The update is rolling out over-the-air, so if you haven’t already received the notification by now, perhaps its time to try checking manually for an update through the settings application.
