Verizon HTC One Max Android 4.4.2 Release Possible Tomorrow

Verizon HTC One Max Android 4.4.2 Release Possible Tomorrow

HTC has worked very hard to ensure that the KitKat update reaches its prominent devices promptly. Last year flagship, the HTC One, received KitKat back in February. HTC One Max owners haven’t been that lucky though, they’ve had to wait for quite a while even though Android 4.4 was released by Google late last year. Though it appears that the wait might soon be over for One Max owners on Big Red.

The company’s executive director of product management has announced on Twitter that they have received technical approval for Sense 5.5 and Android 4.4.2 KitKat update from the carrier in question, Verizon. He further adds that users should expect the over-the-air update to start rolling out tomorrow afternoon.

Apart from the visual tweaks in Sense 5.5 itself, the core OS update also brings quite a few visual enhancements. Certain new features will also be added, apart from improved security and system performance.

Given the fact that major updates like this are often rolled out in stages, it may take quite a while for Verizon HTC One Max Android 4.4.2 update to go live in your particular region. Even if the update notification doesn’t immediately pop up on your device, rest assured, it will do so in a couple of days after Monday at the very least.

Google Wireless Carrier Service Reportedly Being Explored

    Verizons’ Epic 12-Tuner DVR Isn’t a Joke

I’ll admit when I first saw this I looked around to see if it was some sort of prank for April Fools’ Day. However, it seems to be legit according to the reports out there. Why exactly does this seem to goo to be true? Well, it’s a DVR with 12 tuners. Anyone constantly fighting with other people in your home to decide who gets to record what programs, this is the DVR for you.

    verizon0boxmagnify

The device is called the VMS1100 media server and it has six integrated tuners of its own and can be combined with extender boxes to allow up to 12 shows to record at once. This makes my Dish Hopper whole home DVR with five tuners seem tiny by comparison.

The DVR has 1TB of storage space and it can be connected to up to ten TVs. You can get one if you are on the new Verizon Fios Quantum TV service. Unfortunately, a DVR with this many tuners isn’t cheap. The single box is $22 monthly; the dual setup is $32 a month, and each of the connection boxes for additional TVs costs $10 monthly. Of course, those fees are before you pay a dime for content.

Verizon Service Plan Price Cut To Match AT&T

Recently AT&T announced its new Mobile Share price plans which offer a family of four unlimited voice, text and 10GB of shared data for $160 per month. The carrier has been actively promoting its new plan and it appears that Verizon Wireless has had enough of it. Big Red today made some changes of its own, it has slashed its own pricing and matched AT&T’s. There’s no denying that a price war is underway between major U.S. carriers.
