Verizon Nokia Lumia 1520 Pictured
Posted in: Today's ChiliNokia’s first Windows Phone 8 powered phablet is expected to be released in the coming months. There have already been a lot of rumors about the Nokia Lumia 1520, we get to see leaked pictures of this device almost on a daily basis. Its no different today, a picture of Verizon branded Lumia 1520 has surfaced online through Sina Weibo, which is China’s equivalent of the popular microblogging network, Twitter.
At first it was said that Nokia will unveil this device at an event on September 26th. The Lumia 1520 was rumored to be an AT&T exclusive in the U.S., but this Verizon branded photo makes us believe on the contrary. There’s obviously no confirmation as yet from both Verizon and Nokia, so its best to take this picture with a grain of salt for now. Rumors suggest that this phablet might tout a 6 inch full HD display, a 20 megapixel PureView rear camera, quadcore processor and a 3,400mAh battery. Even if Nokia unveils the device this month, it is believed that the actual launch might not take place until November, because Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update isn’t ready for public consumption as yet. A recent rumor suggests that Nokia might have pushed back the Lumia 1520 announcement to October 22nd.

Motorola Droid Maxx review
Posted in: Today's ChiliMotorola’s Droid phones tend to arrive in packs. The original Droid RAZR was released just a couple months before the Droid RAZR Maxx — essentially, the RAZR with a larger battery. The next year, the company followed up with the Droid RAZR HD, the RAZR M and the RAZR Maxx HD, the latter of which promised longer battery life. Then, after a long silence, the OEM finally broke its silence this past July. At a press event co-headlined by Verizon, Motorola announced its first products since being acquired by Google, once again choosing to launch three devices. We’ve already taken a look at the Droid Ultra, and in this review we’ll focus on the largest of the trio, appropriately called the Droid Maxx.
Despite the fact that all three offer roughly the same mid-range specs, the Maxx stands out from the rest of its siblings thanks to its build, wireless-charging capability and — surprise! — its larger battery. But are these three factors important enough to justify paying $300 on-contract, when the Moto X, Droid Ultra and other flagships all cost $100 less? Let’s find out.%Gallery-slideshow83998%

As it struggles to expand its 4G LTE, AT&T is spending $1.9 billion in cash for unused spectrum from its biggest rival, Verizon. This upgrade will improve service for some 42 million people in 18 states thanks to an additional 39 700MHz licenses. This bodes well for AT&T’s ambition to offer 4G LTE to 270 million people by the end of the year.
