Grand Theft Auto IV Mod Brings Toy Story’s Woody, Buzz To Liberty City

Grand Theft Auto V’s release date getting pushed back to September 2013 when it was originally expected to be released in Q1 2013 was quite the bummer. Sure – there are some amazing games to already look forward to in this month alone, but all of them would probably pale in comparison to GTA V. Until the game finally gets released this September, we guess all we could do is sit around and play GTA IV as Toy Story characters.

A new mod that’s available for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV removes that pesky Niko Bellic with a giant Woody doll that’s capable of performing iconic moves from the Street Fighter series as well as Skyrim. Oh, and did we mention he can also shoot gun and can be assisted by a posse of Buzz Lightyears? Yea – that, too. (more…)

YouTube Music Streaming Service Coming This Year [Rumor]

YouTube Music Streaming Service Coming This Year [Rumor]

It was previously rumored Google could possibly introduce a music streaming service for its Android platform, and today, it looks as though a portion of that rumor is true as in addition to its Google Play for Android, it will be launching a music streaming service on YouTube.

According to a number of Fortune’s sources, the upcoming service planned to launch on YouTube will allow anyone to listen to music tracks for free with additional features available for a subscription fee. When reached for a comment regarding YouTube’s possible addition of a music-streaming service, the company shared the following statement:

While we don’t comment on rumor or speculation, there are some content creators that think they would benefit from a subscription revenue stream in addition to ads, so we’re looking at that.

If Gangnam Style has taught us anything it should be that K-POP is extremely addictive and people have been turning to YouTube for their music-listening needs for several years now. Maturing the brand to become a music-streaming service is one we’re sure many people would adopt as soon as it’s announced, which now that the cat may be out of the bag, would be soon.

Second Oreo Separator Machine Allows Cookie, Cream Lovers To Coexist

If you enjoyed Nabisco’s first video where David Neevel took his disgust of the cream part of the Oreo to a new level by building a machine that specifically removed the cream filling, then you’ll probably be happy to hear another video has been published.

The latest Oreo-related video highlights a machine built by Barry Kudrowitz and Bill Fienup who work as toy scientists in Minnesota. Unlike Neevel’s machine which completely eradicated the Oreo’s cream filling, their machine allows for both cookie and cream lovers to coexist, and in a way, help one another.

The way the Kudrowitz and Fienup machine works is by loading an Oreo cookie into its tray, where a small plastic piece is used to push the top cookie into the subject’s mouth. The cream is left exposed, which the machine proceeds to heat up the cookie and blast the liquified cream into the cream-lover’s mouth. The final step ejects the cookie, to which the cookie-lover proceeds to eat it.

The Oreo cookie separator machine isn’t as hardcore as Neevel’s contraption, but if it means both cream and cookie lovers can coexist, then we guess it actually might be a better machine in that sense.

YouTube Gets In On The Harlem Shake Craze

If you fancy yourself an Internet-savvy person, you’ll know that the Harlem Shake is absolutely everywhere nowadays. It’s been played on the radio and is even sitting at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 songs for the second week in a row. We’re not sure what it is about the song, but we can’t help but act like complete idiots whenever we hear it being played.

Searching for Harlem Shake videos on YouTube has resulted in over 200,000 results acting completely nuts while the song is playing. But inputting the term “do the harlem shake” into YouTube will result in a completely different thing.

Google is no stranger to hiding easter eggs in a number of their services, and the “do the harlem shake” search is the latest such easter egg. The search results in the entire YouTube page doing the Harlem Shake, which moves around as crazily as most people do when they move to the popular song. It may not be as cool as Google’s “Let it snow” easter egg, or “do a barrel roll,” but it’s still a fun little easter egg nonetheless.

Conan O’Brien Tells Us What Everyone Uses Their iPads For

On one side of the spectrum, you have people who are using their iPads to better themselves by downloading applications that will help them learn a thing or two. On the other side of the spectrum, you have people who use their iPads for one specific thing, which Conan decides to highlight in a new spoof commercial.

Apple’s recent iPad commercials highlighting experiences only available on the iOS platform hasn’t been one of their best, but Conan thinks they’re not being honest with the public as he knows what we all use our iPads for.

If you have yet to watch the video and still don’t want the surprise to be ruined, let’s just say Conan believes the reason why people use their iPads is to take care of some urges they have that would normally be done in front of a computer. No, it isn’t playing video games or watching an unhealthy amount of cat videos, although those would probably be as embarrassing depending on the kind of people living with you.

CG Audrey Hepburn Commercial Looks Like The Real Deal

Audrey Hepburn is probably one of the most iconic women in the film and fashion industry, with many attempting to recreate her beauty and sense of style. In fact it seems that task proved to be quite difficult as production company Framestore found out when attempting to create an advertisement for chocolate company, Galaxy. The original idea was to use an Audrey Hepburn double and that’s what the production company set out to do. They scanned the double’s face and did a live shooting before return back to their studio for further refinement. Unfortunately the facial scan did not prove to be as accurate as they thought and failed to capture certain iconic nuances, such as Hepburn’s eyes and smile.

They ultimately decided that CG was the way to go and the results can be seen in the video above, which we have to admit looks stunning and almost as if Hepburn was still alive and acted in the commercial. If you’d like to find out more about the process in which Framestore went through, you can find a detail description at Galaxy’s website. In the meantime if you have a minute to spare, do check out the video above and let us know what you think!

BallCam Football Captures Rotating Video To Create Steady Images

We know when it comes to photographers and videographers, getting the perfect angle at the perfect time is what drives them when they’re trying to capture their subject. But if someone wanted to capture video from something throwable, let’s say a football, the only way that may work is if you strap a camera to the football. Now, you could just buy the BallCam.

BallCam is exactly what it sounds like as it’s a football that’s been equipped with a camera inside of it, which means you’ll always get that spinning shot of being thrown from one person to another that you’ve always been looking for. But researchers have made it possible for the footage to be not as nauseating as you think it would be. (more…)

PS4 Live Stream Drew 8 Million Viewers On Ustream

PS4 Live Stream Drew 8 Million Viewers On Ustream

Only a few hundred people were allowed inside of the Hammerstein last week during Sony’s PlayStation 4 unveiling, which means if you wanted to hear first-hand news, you probably watched the livestream provided by Ustream. The stream didn’t go without a few hitches as we experienced the audio going in and out from time to time, but overall, it was an acceptable experience. But just how many people tuned into Sony’s big PlayStation 4 reveal?

According to Ustream’s CEO Brad Hunstable who spoke to Engadget, the live-streaming video service counted around eight million people tuning into Sony’s PlayStation 4 event, with one million concurrent views at its peak. During the two hour event, the average viewer stuck around for one hour, which is three times as long as the normal Ustream viewer only sticks around a live stream for 20 minutes. (more…)

Conan Expects Google Glass To Evolve Into A Camera For Your Rump

Google’s recently published Google Glass video has been getting the attention of a lot of people, both in and outside of the tech industry. One such person is late-night talk-show host Conan O’Brien, who decided to talk about the upcoming wearable device on his show last night.

In talking about Google Glass, Conan decided to show a follow-up video highlighting a “new product” from Google that takes the device to another part of a person’s body: their backside.

The follow-up video, which is obviously a spoof and in no way reflects a real product, shows just what kind of views you can expect from Google Ass as gawking strangers, sniffing dogs and trips to the bathroom will become much more interesting now that you’ll know what exactly is going on while your head is turned. We just hope Google Ass users decide against sharing their view with others, especially in Google Hangouts.

PlayStation 4′s Killzone: Shadow Fall Featured On Jimmy Fallon

Sony unveiled the PlayStation 4 this past Wednesday, which we’re sure you were already aware of. But if you’re not the kind of person to check tech websites on an hourly basis, you might not have been aware such a big announcement occurred. So what better way to educate the gaming public than by showcasing the PlayStation 4 on a late-night talk show like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon?

Jimmy Fallon had Guerrilla Games’ Hermen Hulst to show off Killzone: Shadow Fall on a prototype PlayStation 4 unit. The demo Fallon plays through is the exact demo that was played during the PlayStation 4 event, although he’s probably one of the first people outside of Sony to get his hands on the new DualShock 4 controller.

Fallon and guest Anthony Anderson play Killzone: Shadow Fall for a bit and discuss the PlayStation 4. Judging by both Fallon and Anderson’s performance, we’d guess neither of them actually played either a first-person shooter or Killzone before as they both spent a lot of time missing their targets and yelling in fear for their lives.
