Tokyoflash Kisai Quasar Is Rather Difficult To Read

Tokyoflash Kisai Quasar Is Rather Difficult To ReadTokyoflash is a company that is well known for its range of interesting looking watches in the past, where we have seen the likes of a Kisai Maru Wooden, a Kisai Neutron, as well as a Kisai Blade that tells the time using LEDs. This time around, there is another “masterpiece” from Tokyoflash that will be known as the Kisai Quasar. The Kisai Quasar is special because it arrives in the form of a hexagonal-themed timepiece which was originally submitted by a certain László Scheffer, who happens to be a huge fan of what Tokyoflash has done.

The kind of geometry which has been echoed in the watch face of the Kisai Quasar will definitely be extremely appealing to those who are more geekily inclined. Of course, just in case you do not have the kind of smarts or simply are not too bothered about how you will read the timepiece, there is a simplified mode which will show the numbers to represent the correct time. The Kisai Quasar will arrive in silver or black shades, where it will retail for $109 temporarily, after that the promotional price will end with a $149 price point. Thank the heavens for a simplified mode, don’t you think so?

Garmin D2 Pilot Watch: Aviation + GPS on Your Wrist

While commercial pilots might not use this kind of watch to replace the computers they work with in Jumbo Jets, frequent travelers and private pilots might enjoy the goodies features on this latest Garmin watch.

The Garmin D2 Pilot Watch has everything you’d expect from an aviator watch, with the added bonus of Garmin GPS tech. It has the ability to load a flight plan and view it in real time on the watch face. Its dedicated NRST button can also guide you to the nearest airport. ‘Average Days’ Watch Lets You Know What the Rest of the World is Usually Doing

Do you ever wonder how you spend your time, relative to the rest of world? While you’re bumming around, the vast majority might be working. While you’re eating, some might be getting ready to work out.

Giving you some perspective on how you spend – and maybe waste – your time is the Average Days watch by Mr. Jones.

Mr. Jones is one of my favorite watchmakers because they constantly come up with unusual designs that make you look twice. In this case, they’re making you think twice as well.

The face of the Average Days watch follows a 24-hour format. As the disc turns, a small slot reveals the most common activity that people usually do at that particular time. This information was obtained from data compiled by the Centre For Time Use Research, so they’re not just tasks lifted from some random person’s daily routine.

Only 100 pieces of the watch have been made. Average Days is currently available online from Mr. Jones Watches for £145 (~ $231 USD)

Tikker watch tells you how much time left you have on your clock

tikkerNow this is an interesting question to consider – would you prefer to know just how many days you have left to spend on earth, or you prefer to be not in the know, so that you are able to make the most out of each day instead? I would fall under the latter category, but if you are a meticulous planner who also wants to plan for your eventual demise, then you might want to check out this particularly interesting Kickstarter project that is known as the Tikker watch. This Tikker watch is supposed to be the first self-contained atomic clock watch in the world.

The Tikker watch does not have any kind of fancy designs in the first place, but before you are able to wear it, you will need to answer a simple questionnaire, before subtracting your current age from the results. After doing so, you will have to set the clock to count down the rest of your life. Apart from that, it will also be able to keep track of local time, although it goes without saying that the death countdown would be the “main attraction” here. Right now, the Tikker watch is going for a $39 pledge, where it will arrive in a shade of black that is also what the grim reaper wears. If you prefer a custom color, then be prepared to pony up a $1,000 pledge.

FiLIP GPS Watch Keeps Kids Safe and Parents in the Know

Every parent on the planet wants their kid to be happy and well-adjusted. That means at some point early in the kid’s life you have to give them the freedom to roam and play. The problem for parents is that giving children the freedom to go places and visit friends by themselves can be very nerve-wracking. This is especially true if you’re the sort that imagines all the horrible things that could possibly happen to a child in the world alone.

To help allay some of these fears, AT&T has announced an exclusive partnership to distribute a new product that will help parents give their kids more freedom called the FiLIP.

The device is a large and colorful smart watch that has a built-in phone and GPS functionality. The watch allows parents to set zones where the kids can roam and if the child goes outside that zone, the watch will remind them that they can’t go. All of this information is available to parents via a remote smartphone app as well. The watch also has a built-in mobile phone that connects to standard cellular networks and holds five personal contacts.

The watch can dial any of those five contacts and those numbers can also call in to talk to the child. One of the best features is the emergency button that a child can press for three seconds to automatically send out a distress message to all five contacts with their GPS location. When the emergency button is pressed, the first contact is automatically called and the watch records all sounds around it. If the first contact doesn’t answer, the other contacts will be dialed.

There’s no word on exactly when you can buy the FiLIP, but you can sign up to be notified about its launch over on their website.
