Satellite photo shows giant, monster-like biological shape at Loch Ness

Is that the Loch Ness monster in this satellite photo used by Apple Maps? Or at least something that looks like a giant biological form underwater? It’s similar to the shape spotted in Google’s satellite imagery.

Pringles Can Pipe Organ: Once You Pop, You Can’t Stop

The tower of Pringles cans you’re looking at here isn’t the remnants of a week-long gaming marathon (though it could be). Instead, it’s a fully-functional musical instrument – assuming that you like slightly off-key, strange sounding tunes.

The functional sculpture was made by Brooklyn music production company Fall on Your Sword. It’s made of almost 250 green, red and yellow Pringles cans – and was rigged to play sounds when the containers are pressed on. It’s not clear how it works, but it sounds like it uses recorded sound samples, not steam. Here, check it out:

Okay, it’s not exactly the most ear-pleasing sound, but imagine what it would have sounded like if the cans still had potato chips in them.

A weird black ring appeared in the sky in England and then disappeared

A weird black ring appeared in the sky in England and then disappeared

This is bizarre. A 16-year-old girl saw a giant black ring in the sky above England and captured it on video. After three minutes of floating around like a cloud, the black ring disappeared completely. So far, experts have no idea what it was.

Using a 3D Printer to Draw Tattoos: InkD

It’s one thing to allow a professional tattoo artist to ink your arm. It’s another thing altogether to allow a 3D printer to do it. But that’s exactly what a team of designers in Paris recently did.

3d printed tattoomagnify

By hacking together a custom tattoo gun attachment for a MakerBot 3D printer, they were able to draw a computer-generated tattoo on a man’s arm. As you can see in the video below, the tattoo is very rudimentary (a simple circle), but I’m assuming that’s because it would be pretty difficult to compensate for small movements in the recipient’s arm like a human tattoo artist can do.

What do you guys think? Will there be shopping mall kiosks in the future where you can stick your arm inside and have the art of your choice drawn on by a robot?

Me? I’m sticking with temporary tattoos.

This Zombie Beer is Brewed with Goat Brains

Zombies crave brains not beer. However, if they did drink beer, they wouldn’t drink just any beer. They would want a beer with some brains. Real brains. They would want Dock Street Brewing Company’s Walker.

This beer is brewed with real brains. Cranberries too. Presumably to hide that brain taste when humans try to drink it. They use smoked goat brains in what is otherwise a fairly standard American pale stout. I always knew it took brains to brew a good beer.

And since zombies have different tolerances than mere humans, this pale stout is 7.2% ABV, or about 50% more potent than most American beers. So after a few drinks you will be walking like a zombie yourself.

If you want one of the first bottles of Walker, you’ll need to head to Dock Street Brewing for their The Walking Dead season finale party on March 30th in Philly.

Pasta Pops: Spaghetti-Flavored Popsicles

If there’s one place where spaghetti-flavored popsicles would exist, then it would be Japan. True enough, frozen treats that are packaged and sold as being spaghetti-flavored are available in the land of the rising sun.

To the adventurous, this is just another unique treat to try. For others, it’s something to avoid at all costs.

Icy tomatoes and bits of meat don’t exactly sound like a very delectable frozen treat. However, while the image above of the spaghetti popsicles have made the rounds on the Internet, its actual taste hasn’t been confirmed yet. It could be that it’s packaged as spaghetti popsicles in the sense that it’s the color of tomato sauce when it’s mushed with the pasta, though I prefer to assume that it’s made from actual spaghetti and meatballs.

Gari-Gari Kun, the company that makes these popsicles, also make Corn Pottage and Rice Cakes with Bean Paste-flavored popsicles.

Mocoro Rolling Mop Ball Gathers no Moss, Only Dust Bunnies

It seems I can’t go more than a couple of days without finding another wacky Japanese gadget that seems to solve no real problem. Here’s another crazy product from the island nation. This robotic ball that works like a rolling dust mop.

mocoro dust mop 620x410magnify

While most of us would resort to using a vacuum cleaner or maybe a Swiffer to perform the task of sweeping up dust bunnies, the folks who designed the Mocoro rolling mop ball opted for something decidedly more whimsical.

Just release the Mocoro on your hardwood, tile or vinyl floors, and it’ll roll around collecting dust for about 15 minutes. Once it’s done, it’ll sing a little song to let you know its work is complete. It seems like a great idea until you realize that you have to wash it off between cleanings. The point is moot though, as your dog will probably use it as a chew toy before long anyhow.

Normally available only in Japan for ¥3,980 (~$40 USD), the folks over at White Rabbit Express should be able to help you get your hands on one.

Superheros Poop Too

You know how superfans are. These are the folks who want a lock of hair from their idol or a used Kleenex. It’s weird, I know. Overly-obsessed superhero superfans who are in this category will certainly want to buy some superhero poop from their favorite hero. And now they can.

Yes, Etsy seller AntonisArtAsylum sells super-poop. You can choose from Batman, the Hulk, Spider-Man and more.

That Hulk poop with the fist on the end? That’s gotta hurt coming out. No wonder he is so freakin’ mad all the time. Never mind the fact that it’s green and purple. At least he’s a doctor, I suppose.

So if you ever wanted some superhero poo, you can get a jar for only $15.99 to $19.99(USD). Enjoy your purchase. You weirdo.
