New Fatal Frame For The Wii U Being Developed

New Fatal Frame For The Wii U Being DevelopedWe’re sure that there are some of you guys out there who remembers playing Fatal Frame. Just in case you’re not familiar with the title, it’s basically a horror game in which you walk around the game taking photos, and sometimes in those photos ghosts appear which can be admittedly pretty freaky.

That being said we haven’t really heard much about the franchise for quite a while now and the good news is that it is not dead! According to a recent report on Famitsu, it seems that Tecmo Koei and Nintendo are working on bringing a new Fatal Frame title onto the Nintendo Wii U console.

Unfortunately not much is known about the upcoming game such as its release, its features, and so on, but we guess it’s better than nothing, right? However given how ZombieU took great advantage of the Wii U’s Game Pad, we can only assume that the upcoming Fatal Frame title will do the same as well.

Heck if you thought it was scary before, we can only imagine that with the Game Pad acting as a secondary display, things are about to get freakier. In the meantime there is a live action movie based on the franchise that is expected to make its way into Japanese cinemas this year, but in the meantime who else is excited at the idea of a new game?

Nintendo Sued For Alleged Patent Infringement Over Wii U’s Dual Screen Capabilities

Nintendo Sued For Alleged Patent Infringement Over Wii Us Dual Screen CapabilitiesOne of the Nintendo Wii U’s unique selling points is the fact that it is essentially like a much bigger 3DS system in the sense that the GamePad on the Wii U can act as a secondary display in which gamers can interact with. For games like ZombieU, this meant that the GamePad can be used to access your inventory while your main screen will display all the action.

Unfortunately it seems that Nintendo did not create this technology or idea themselves, and it seems that they might not have licensed the technology either, at least that’s according to a recent lawsuit in which a company by the name of Secure Axcess is suing Nintendo for allegedly infringing on the patent.

This is not the first time that Nintendo has been sued for patent infringement and while they might have lost some, they have also won some of their cases before. According to the patent that Nintendo allegedly infringed upon, it is described as “a computer providing multiple display capability where one display presents the current document and another display may show a true display of a previously opened document.”

Secure Axcess is also suing retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target, and Amazon who sold the devices, although we’re not sure how successful they will be since those retailers only sold the device as opposed to making it and selling it. The company is current asking for compensatory damages, costs, among other reliefs.

If anything it sounds like Secure Axcess might be just another patent troll looking to reach some kind of settlement agreement based on a vaguely worded patent. Will they be successful? We guess we will just have to wait and see, but either way we’re pretty sure another patent lawsuit is not what Nintendo needs at the moment.

Box Art Hints At Mario Kart 8 Wii U Bundle

Box Art Hints At Mario Kart 8 Wii U BundleWe know that Mario Kart 8 is expected to see a release on the 30th of May, but what if you don’t have a Wii U? Well the obvious answer would be to go out and get yourself the console if you were hoping to play the game, but not just yet. Thanks to a recent image of a box art that appeared online, it seems that there will be a Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle that could be released, thus allowing gamers to buy both the game and the console at the same time.

The bundle is said to launch on the 30th of May, which is the same time as the game itself, so you will be able to enjoy it the minute it has been released. Now Nintendo has yet to officially announce the bundle themselves, so do take it with a grain of salt for now, but at the same time we wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo indeed had such a bundle planned.

No word on how much this bundle will cost, but presumably it will be priced the same as other bundles. Based on the box art, it also seems that this bundle will include a black Wii U Premium console, a copy of the Mario Kart 8 game, as well as a free trial for Nintendo’s Wii U Karaoke app that is good for a week.

Mario Kart 8 is definitely one of the more anticipated first-party Wii U games that is expected to launch this year. The other is probably Super Smash Bros. although according to Nintendo’s announcement, the Wii U version of the game is only pegged for a winter release, but the 3DS version of the game is expected to see a release in time for summer.

Wii Remote Plus Controller Gets Princess Peach Theme

Wii Remote Plus Controller Gets Princess Peach ThemeThere is nothing quite like having a themed piece of hardware, is there? Nintendo is said to roll out a brand new Wii Remote Plus controller some time later this month, where this particular model will come dressed in the iconic colors of Princess Peach. The Wii Remote Plus Princess Peach controller is set to hit stores at the end of this month, sporting an asking price of $39.99 apiece, where it has been specially designed in the same manner as that of the Mario and Luigi controllers.

The main body of this controller will feature a shade of pink, complete with a golden crown design emblazoned across the remote’s speaker. The middle buttons on the controller happen to be blue in color, while the plus pad arrives in a shade of golden yellow, which so happens to be colors that reflect Princess Peach’s very own jewelry and crown. Expect this uniquely colored remote to play nice with the entire library of Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii U games, where among them include the soon-to-arrive kart racer Mario Kart 8 that is set to launch later this May 30th. Are you interested in collecting all of the specially colored Wii Remote Plus controllers, or is the plain old version good enough for you?

Mario Kart 8 Footage May Make You a Nintendo Fan Again

I have to be honest. I haven’t been a Nintendo fan for ages. These consoles that once had great games just haven’t had anything worth playing for ages. That’s just my opinion. However, this footage from Mario Kart 8 has me actually excited for a Nintendo game.

Mario Kart 8 Will Run At 30fps With 3-4 Players

When it comes to gaming, the higher the FPS the smoother the game tends to be. Of course some gamers don’t mind it when their games run at low FPS rates, while there are those who want at least an FPS of at least 60 before they even consider it.

Of course the type of game matters as well. In a slower-placed game, lower FPS isn’t as important compared to twitch gaming like FPS or RTS where a lot of movements and reactions are needed. That being said, it seems that the upcoming Mario Kart 8 has been reported to run at 30dfps when playing in split screen mode. (more…)
