EA Apologizes To Nintendo For Unacceptable Wii U JokeSometimes during April Fools, pranks get carried a little too far, or perhaps the person pulling the prank does not see how their prank might have been mean spirited or done in bad taste. Well it seems that EA did not appreciate the “jokes” that were being made by their Frostbite Twitter account which made fun of the Nintendo Wii U.

In response EA has since issued an apology on Twitter, calling the jokes “unacceptable” and “stupid”. According to the tweet, “Our apologies to partners @NintendoAmerica & fan @FrostbiteEngine ’s poor attempt at April Fools not condoned by EA : unacceptable/ stupid.” (more…)

    Redbox May Offer PS4, Xbox One And Wii U Rentals Soon

    This won’t be the first time that Redbox will offer video game rentals. The company has done this before, but if a recent report is correct, it may be the first time that Redbox offers titles from next generation gaming consoles. The rental company is expected to offer titles for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and the Nintendo Wii U over the next couple of weeks.

    Over 50 Unity Titles Developed For The Wii U

    Over 50 Unity Titles Developed For The Wii UThe Nintendo Wii U isn’t the hottest selling console at the moment and it does not even look like they are coming close. We’re not sure if it’s the Wii U’s hardware, the price, the complexity of the GamePad, or if there just aren’t enough major titles for it. Well the good news for Wii U gamers is that it looks like you will be able to expect a bunch of new games in the coming months, according to Damon Baker, the Senior Manager of Marketing at Nintendo of America’s Licensing departmennt.

    According to Baker, who spoke the folks at Siliconera during GDC 2014, Wii U gamers can look forward to around 17 new Unity powered indie games in the next two months. Baker mentioned that during GDC, Nintendo had about 9 games on display, and revealed that there are more in the pipeline that will be released in the next couple of months. (more…)

    Japan To Get New Wii U Bundle

    Japan To Get New Wii U BundleWhat you see above happens to hail from Nintendo of Japan’s official site, where it has listed the new console pack at the ¥30,000 price point (which you can roughly convert to $300), and is touted for a March 27th release. Apparently, this particular console pack does seem to come with a 32GB Wii U console in addition to a GamePad, passes for Wii Sports Club events Tennis, Bowling and Golf, in addition to a WiiMote controller and a wrist strap. Has Nintendo actually replaced the standard premium pack with this particular one?

    Watch Dogs For Wii U Still Alive And Well Despite DelaysEarlier this year it was mentioned that Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs for the Nintendo Wii U had been delayed. In fact some even went as far as suggesting that the game had been cancelled due to the Wii U’s unpopularity, although has since been denied by Ubisoft.

    Either way the game’s release date has since been revealed to be for the 27th of May, with the Wii U version still slated for a later date.     Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition Revealed

    Good news gamers, if you were planning on getting your hands on Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U when it is released on the 30th of May, you might be interested to learn that Nintendo has recently announced a limited edition version of the game.

    This is basically the same version of the game that other gamers can look forward to, although the main difference here is that the limited edition version will come with a real life Spiny Shell! According to the video above, the shell looks more like a miniature toy as opposed to something a little larger, like a plushie, but we’re guessing fans will still be pretty happy about it. (more…)
