Minecraft For The Nintendo Wii U Rumored To Be In The Works

Minecraft For The Nintendo Wii U Rumored To Be In The WorksMinecraft was originally released for the PC, but due to its popularity, the game eventually made its way onto platforms like the Xbox 360 and the PS3, and with over 33 million units of the game reportedly sold to date, it looks like the game is a huge success. However there are still platforms left to conquer, such as Nintendo’s Wii U platform, and according to recent rumors, it has been suggested that Minecraft could be making its way onto the Wii U in the future. This is based on an anonymous source who spoke to the folks at NintendoEnthusiast and claimed that Mojang, the developer of the game, had recently received development kits for the Wii U and had already begun developing the game for the console.

The rumors claim that the GamePad would be used as part of the game, and given that the GamePad is what makes the Wii U console unique, we guess this is sort of unsurprising. It is unclear what the GamePad could be used for, but it has been speculated that perhaps it could be used to manage one’s inventory or craft new objects. So far developers haven’t exactly been supportive of Nintendo’s Wii U platform, with big name developers having no plans to launch games for the platform, or in some cases have even been removed certain features that other platforms get access to. With Minecraft expected to make its way onto the Xbox One and PS4 come 2014, adding the Wii U to the list of supported platforms would no doubt expand its reach.

Wii Sports Club – Golf Appears On Nintendo eShop

Wii Sports Club Golf Appears On Nintendo eShopGolf can be said to be a rich man’s sport, and while it might have come down in price in this day and age compared to a couple of decades ago, the entry level cost is still prohibitive to many. After all, why pay for the green fees when you can just spend a few bucks for a pair of goggles and take a swim? Not only is it a whole lot more affordable, you exercise more of your body as well. Well, Wii Sports Club – Golf has just been announced, where it will join the all-star Wii Sports Club range over in the Nintendo eShop on the Wii U.

At least electronic golf is a whole lot more affordable than the real thing, never mind that you aren’t going to burn as many calories as playing the game in the actual world. Wii Sports Club – Golf will boast of special controls that rely on the Wii U GamePad and Wii Remote Plus controllers. You will need to place the GamePad on the floor, where you then see the golf ball that you are about to hit shown off on the GamePad screen. After swinging the Wii Remote Plus controllers like an actual golf club, watch the ball will fly from the GamePad display to the main TV screen, and followed by the virtual course, now how about that? Mario Kart 8 And Super Smash Bros. In fact, we now know that one of the more popular characters found in the Super Mario 3D World game happens to be making her way to two of its biggest titles of 2014 for the Wii U. Wii U Expected To Sell 25 Million Units In Its Lifetime, According To Market Research Firm

Wii U Expected To Sell 25 Million Units In Its Lifetime, According To Market Research FirmIt is no secret that at the moment, Nintendo’s Wii U console is not doing as well as it should. In fact even against the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, the Wii U appeared to be struggling, with many claiming the lack of blockbuster titles as one of the main reasons. However there are developers who are also staying away from the console because of that, which does seem like a pretty vicious cycle. In any case while it remains to be seen how many units the Wii U will sell in its lifetime, a market search conducted by DFC Intelligence has suggested that the Wii U will sell about 25 million units in its lifetime.

This pales in comparison to the likes of the Wii which managed 100 million units, and will put it slightly ahead of the Nintendo GameCube and the original Xbox One, which sold 22 million units and 24 million units respectively. Of course there are plenty of titles for the Wii U that has yet to be launched, with DFC Intelligence calling the platform a device mainly for the launch of first-party software, such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. just to name a few. Perhaps with the launch of said titles, and subsequent releases of more popular first-party software, that number will increase, but in the meantime what do you guys make of the 25 million lifetime prediction? Will the Wii U turn out to be a huge flop?
