Windows 8.1 Update 1 Release Apparently Delayed

Microsoft’s “Spring” update for Windows was initially believed to ship in March. From all the rumors we have heard over the past couple of weeks, it was held that Windows 8.1 update 1 release will come around the second week of next month. Apparently the release has now been delayed to April, with Microsoft planning to distribute it on a Patch Tuesday, this would mean that instead of March 11th, Windows 8.1 update 1 release will take place on April 8th.

Windows 8.1 Update 1 Leaked Build Making The Rounds

Over the past couple of weeks we have been hearing a lot of chatter about the upcoming Windows 8 update. We have seen several leaked screenshots as well, while there have been numerous rumors about the changes that this update is said to bring. Earlier today a Windows 8.1 Update 1 leaked build appeared online, its a bit older than the build seen in yesterday’s leaked screenshots, but it does appear to have almost all of the changes that have been rumored up till now.

Windows 8.1 Update Will Boot To Desktop [Rumor]

Microsoft in expected to release a new Windows 8.1 update in the coming weeks. So far there have been many rumors about the changes we can expect to see in the upcoming update. several screenshots of test builds have also leaked online over the past few weeks. The latest screenshots, and accompanying claims, from well known Russian leaker WZor predicts that the next Windows 8.1 update will automatically boot straight into the desktop, bypassing the tiles interface of the Start screen altogether.

Windows 8.1 Update 1 Release Expected On March 11

There has already been a lot of speculation about the spring Windows 8.1 update. We have also seen leaked screenshots, but so far Microsoft has not confirmed when this particular update is going to be released to end users. Apparently the Windows 8.1 update 1 release falls on a Patch Tuesday, which happens to be March 11th. Do keep in mind though that this release date is a rumor at this point in time, it hasn’t been confirmed by the company. The only thing known for sure right now is that Microsoft releases new updates on Patch Tuesday, that’s actually the whole reason behind the exercise any way.

Windows 8.1 Update 1 Screenshots Leaked

Rumor has it that Microsoft is working on a new Windows 8.1 update that is expected to be released in the next couple of months. Apparently called “Update 1,” it is claimed to be a minor update which will primarily focus on improving shared code use between Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1, thus allowing developers to easily build apps that are compatible with both platforms. Screenshots of this unreleased Windows 8.1 Update 1 have leaked online today.
