Windows Phone Users Want Their Back Button

Windows Phone Users Want Their Back ButtonSometime last week, we brought you a particularly disturbing rumor that Microsoft could very well ditch the hardware “Back” button in Windows Phone 8.1, and this rumor certainly did not make any Windows Phone users happy. That bit of news hailed from a report that can be found on Paul Thurrott’s Winsupersite page, which touted that the whole reason to remove the physical Back button in Windows Phone 8.1 was because Microsoft claimed that users “don’t realize what they’re doing” when the Back button is pressed many times. Still, the folks over at Microsoft have yet to step forward with an official confirmation or denial on the situation at hand.

Windows Phone users have certainly not taken this particular rumor well, and they have started an online protest with hopes to keep the Back button in existence. There was even a post on Microsoft’s official Windows Phone forums which enabled folks to cast their votes on feature suggestions, and just to get a better idea on the overall sentiment, one commenter on a forum thread stated, “I get that some people don’t get how to use the Back Button. Don’t disable it though. It’ll look awkward for those of us who have older models to have a non functioning button. Make it an option to disable it in the settings ! Please don’t make it a mandatory feature!”

Do you agree with the removal of the physical Back button?

Nokia And HTC Rumored To Be Working On Dual SIM Windows Phones

Its no secret that demand for dual SIM smartphones exists in certain markets, demand can particularly be witnessed in emerging markets. Barring Apple, a number of major manufacturers have released a dual SIM variant of their flagship smartphones. Such variants might not gain traction in the West, that’s why they’re almost never released there. Windows Phone 8 Vine App Leaked?

Windows Phone 8 Vine App Leaked? It was sometime earlier this week when there was an update released for the official Twitter app on the Windows Phone 8 platform, which brought along with it a bunch of features. It seems that we might have received more than what we bargained for, as it has been speculated that Twitter could very well have unveiled something extra that it wanted to keep under wraps originally – and we are referring to an official Vine video clip app for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 OS.

In Twitter’s blog post, there was an image that pointed to a Vine Live title in the Windows Phone 8 render, and I suppose this “mistake” was discovered in the nick of time, since Twitter did take steps to rectify that by removing the image from the blog post, but the Internet has a memory now, with a quick search of Google’s web search cache pointing out to the existence of such an image. Not only that, a similar image has also made an appearance over on Windows Phone Store Twitter pages that are in other countries. I suppose this means that the official Vine app for Windows Phone 8 is ready to rock and roll, and all we need to do now is wait for an official announcement for things to move along officially.
