    We’re just days away from Microsoft’s BUILD 2014 conference and there’s a lot of anticipation and excitement about the announcements that are expected. Nokia has also scheduled a press event on the sidelines of BUILD 2014 where it may unveil new Lumia smartphones. Microsoft is expected to talk in detail about Windows Phone 8.1, its next major update for the mobile platform. A new report claims that the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview release has been scheduled for April 10th.

    It has been quite a while since Samsung has launched a new Windows Phone device. There have been countless rumors over the last few months that Samsung is working on one such device. While the company hasn’t officially confirmed anything as yet, we’ve already seen several leaked images of the Samsung ATIV SE, its new WP device. Initial rumors suggested that the smartphone would be one of the first few to come with Windows Phone 8.1 pre-installed. That might not be the case.

    BBM For Windows Phone Coming In Q2

    Last year BlackBerry finally opened up BlackBerry Messenger to other platforms. For now it is only available as a standalone app for iOS and Android. Since it went cross-platform, BBM has added millions of new users, a decent growth on which the company plans to cash in. The company now has set its sights on Windows Phone, Microsoft’s mobile platform, which has outdone it in several markets. BlackBerry CEO John Chen has confirmed that BBM for Windows Phone will be released in the second quarter of this fiscal year.

    Google Chrome Could Arrive On Windows PhoneWindows Phone users would not have been too thrilled in recent memory as Google does not seem to want to allocate resources to develop apps for the mobile operating system simply for the fact that the number of users as opposed to Android and iOS platforms are tiny in comparison.
