Cortana Spotted On Bing Personalization Page Ahead Of AnnouncementOne of the upcoming features of Windows Phone 8.1 is allegedly a voice assistant named Cortana after the AI in the Halo game franchise. Microsoft has yet to confirm this feature but based on leaked photos and videos, it seems to be pretty real, and with hours away from Microsoft’s BUILD conference, it seems that Cortana is already featured on the Bing personalization page.

The page has since been taken down but not before a screenshot was captured (see picture above) which more or less confirms the feature. Not much is known about Cortana for now or what the full extent of its capabilities are, but it is said to be very tightly integrated with Bing. This is hardly surprising since we doubt Microsoft would want Cortana pulling up Google search results, right? (more…)

    We’re just days away from Microsoft’s BUILD 2014 conference and there’s a lot of anticipation and excitement about the announcements that are expected. Nokia has also scheduled a press event on the sidelines of BUILD 2014 where it may unveil new Lumia smartphones. Microsoft is expected to talk in detail about Windows Phone 8.1, its next major update for the mobile platform. A new report claims that the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview release has been scheduled for April 10th.

    Windows Phone 8.1 Released To Manufacturers [Rumor]

    At BUILD 2014 Microsoft is expected to finally unveil Windows Phone 8.1. There has been a lot of chatter about the upcoming major Windows Phone update, and it is not quite known for sure exactly when the update is going to be released. Earlier this week we picked up on a report claiming that Windows Phone 8.1 core development has been completed, and that only a few minor bugs remain which the secondary team will iron out. According to a new rumor, Windows Phone 8.1 has achieved RTM status, meaning that Microsoft has shipped the firmware to its OEM partners.

    Windows Phone 8.1 Spotted on Microsofts WebsiteSo it is more or less common knowledge by now that Microsoft will be releasing Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows Phone users in the near future. When exactly will this update be rolled out remains to be seen, but in the meantime it has been suggested that perhaps we might be getting pretty close to the release.

    This is according to a recent sighting on Microsoft’s Windows Phone website where as you can see in the image above, Microsoft has made an official reference to Windows Phone 8.1, although this by no means confirms when the update will be released, but we reckon if Microsoft is already putting it on their website, they should be pretty close.     Samsung makes and sells Android phones like hot cakes, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise if most people didn’t know that it actually makes Windows Phone smartphones as well, albeit not as frequently. It has actually been quite a while since Samsung released a new Windows Phone device, and according to recent rumors, it has one up its sleeve that is going to be a Verizon exclusive. Believed to be called the Samsung ATIV SE, recently the smartphone was seen passing through the FCC. Now its press image has surfaced online.
