WWDC 2013 is coming up, and we’ve already heard some rumors concerning it, such as the expected MacBook refresh based on some leaked SKUs. With only a handful of days left before things kick off, another rumor has surfaced, this time concerning OS X 10.9. According to a bug report that was spotted, the next
We’ve already been hearing a bit of chatter about a possible Mac Pro refresh coming to WWDC next week. Inventory has been dwindling at various retail locations, and that usually means new models are incoming. Furthermore, it’s said that an Apple project manager responsible for the Mac Pro mentioned that an updated model is coming
At last year’s opening keynote during WWDC 2012, Apple introduced a refreshed line of Macs, so it would make sense for the company to do the same this year, and it seems that’s exactly what’s going to happen. According to a set of leaked SKUs, Apple has plans to refresh at least one of its MacBook lines with new models.
9to5Mac said they received a set of new SKUs that are most likely new MacBook Pro models. The first set includes SKUs MD711LL/A, MD712LL/A, MD760LL/A, and MD761LL/A. These SKUs are most likely associated with either the MacBook Air line or the MacBook Pro with Retina display, as each of these lines have two screen sizes with two different hardware configs.
The second set of SKUs are ME177LL/A, ME182LL/A, and ME918LL/A. No one’s really sure what these SKUs are for, but it’s likely a specific a screen size of a particular MacBook model will see a refresh, but we’re not sure if that’s case, as it would strange for Apple to focus only on a particular screen size for a refresh.
As far as what else we’ll see at WWDC this year, new Mac Pros could be on the menu, and it could be the first time in a few years that we’ll see a significant update to the tower computers. iOS 7 may also be unveiled, complete with a Jony Ive-designed user interface that will sport a flatter, minimalistic look and feel.
At this point, it could be anyone’s guess as to what exactly Apple will unveil next week. On top of a possible Mac Pro refresh, we’ve heard a full MacBook refresh is possible, as well as specifically new MacBook Airs to come our way next week. Furthermore, we’d be a bit shocked if Apple didn’t give a boost to their MacBook Pro Retina lineup, and with Haswell launching this week, we could easily see the new chips make their way into MacBooks and Mac Pros next week.

Apple‘s annual Worldwide Developers Conference starts in just one week, and to help attendees prepare for the week-long event, the company has released a WWDC app that includes all sorts of information that should prove useful for conference goers. The app includes session info, videos, and maps of the convention floor at Moscone West.
The app works on both the iPhone and iPad, and it lets attendees keep track of all the different sessions that are taking place, including when and where they’re happening. The maps are essentially layouts of Moscone West, and it gives users a visual view of where sessions are taking place, and they can help attendees find their way around if they ever get lost.
The app also provides videos of the sessions for those who want to watch a session over again, or for those who aren’t able to make it to the conference. They can also be great for attendees who weren’t able to go to some of the sessions, as they’re are plenty of them, and some of them even overlap with one another.
One of the more interesting sessions that will be going on during the conference is a talk with Bill Nye the Science Guy who will be leading a session called “Twenty Years Exploring the PB and J (Passion, Beauty and Joy) of Science. That should be rather interesting, and other notable speakers during WWDC also include Star Trek actor LeVar Burton, and director JJ Abrams.
WWDC kicks off next week on Monday, with an opening keynote from CEO Tim Cook and company. That’s the time when we should be seeing some new hardware from Apple, including new Macs, as well as iOS 7, which designer Jony Ive has taken over the reigns for recently. Of course, no one is positive as to what Apple will announce, but we’ll be their live to report back the details to you as they happen.
