AT&T To Drop U-verse Support For The Xbox 360

AT&T To Drop U verse Support For The Xbox 360Xbox 360 gamers who use their consoles for AT&T’s U-verse might be interested to learn that the carrier has announced that after the 31st of December 2013, AT&T will be ending support for the service.  According to AT&T, “A previous communication referenced that you would need to purchase an Xbox 360 Gold membership for your Xbox 360 to work with U-verse service. We were planning to issue a $60 bill credit to cover that cost. We will now be issuing a $99 bill credit, which includes the $60, on your U-verse bill within one to two billing cycles.”

For those unfamiliar, AT&T’s U-verse service basically offered gamers broadband internet, IP telephone, and IPTV services. It launched back in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and basically allowed gamers to use their existing console as a television receiver. AT&T has also informed the folks at Polygon that the service was cancelled due to low customer demand, which means that if you just got yourself a new Xbox One console and were hoping that maybe AT&T would offer U-verse support for the next-gen console, well it looks like you’d be out of luck. So, any Xbox 360 U-verse gamers bummed by this piece of news?

Call of Duty: Ghosts beats up Xbox One and PS4 launch title charts

If there’s a single title that seems to have done things especially right with the launch of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, it’s Activision and Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts. The teams behind the push to both systems are likely sharing a hearty set of high-fives this week as they’ve come up first […]

Xbox One Outsell Xbox 360 In The UK By 2-to-1 In Its First Week

Xbox One Outsell Xbox 360 In The UK By 2 to 1 In Its First WeekIt’s been about 8 years since the launch of the Xbox 360, games have come and gone, and technology has improved by leaps and bounds, which is why it is not surprising that the Xbox One is as successful as it is. The console was released just last week and has since gone on to sell 1 million units in just 24 hours which is admittedly an impressive feat, but more impressive is the fact that the Xbox One has managed to outsell the Xbox 360 in the UK by 2-to-1, and that’s just in the first week alone!

This is according to the Ukie Games Charts which shows that 80% of home consoles sold in the UK during the Xbox One’s launch week belonged to the console. Both the Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4 have had phenomenal success, with the PS4 also managing over 1 million units sold in a 24 hour period of time. Both consoles can thought of as evenly matched, even though gamers and either side of the fence would claim that their console is better, but ultimately in the end it boils down to personal preference as well as what sort of games are available for the platform of their choice. What do you guys think? Will we see the Xbox One outsell the Xbox 360 by even greater numbers by the end of the month?

This was revealed on Spike TV by Geoff Keighley who stated that Xbox gamers would receive their own exclusive content as well, although at this point in time it is unclear as to what it might be. Chances are it could be of equivalent value to what PlayStation gamers are getting, but for now it remains a complete mystery. In the meantime what do you guys think the Xbox’s exclusive content would be? Could we be looking at a different skin and level in the form of a DLC as well? Let us know in the comments below on what sort of content you would like to see for the Xbox version of the game!

Deconstructed Video Game Controllers: The ABXY’s of Gaming

If you love staring at gadget teardowns, check out photographer Brandon Allen’s Deconstructed. It’s a series of images of dissected video game controllers, their parts neatly arranged for the camera. All of the controllers in Brandon’s series were donated and heavily used (some of them don’t work anymore) hence the dust and worn out parts.

I would’ve loved to see labels for the parts as well, but I guess they would only clutter the images.

There are 18 controllers from different consoles in Brandon’s series; you can see the rest here and here. If you really want to take a closer look at the parts you’d be better off looking at the desktop wallpaper-sized images, which Brandon so generously made available for free. You can also buy prints of the dissected NES, SNES, PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers from his online shop.
