Microsoft has been planning to do away with its arbitrary Microsoft Points system it first introduced with the Xbox 360 in time for the release of the Xbox One. We first heard it as a rumor earlier this year, but has since confirmed they will be transitioning its Microsoft Points system to one where your local currency will be reflected in the pricing of content. Today marks a a milestone many who hated the Microsoft Points system have been waiting for as Microsoft has just officially released an update to the Xbox 360 that does away with the old pricing structure. Xbox 360 sales reach dismal low, still the best-selling console in the US

The Xbox 360 is on its last legs before the Xbox One officially launches in November to take over the throne, but Microsoft’s current gaming console is still the best-selling console in the US right now, claiming 31 straight months of being on the top of best-selling list, surpassing the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo […]

XCM X1 Plus Controller Shell Adds Xbox One Vibration Triggers to Xbox 360

One of the coolest features of the new Xbox One is the extra vibration motors in the triggers. These add a new sensation to gameplay which can provide feedback directly to your fingertips. Now, there’s a mod available for the Xbox 360 controller which adds a similar feature.

    xcm x1 plus 1

The new XCM X1 Plus controller shell not only replaces the outside of your Xbox 360′s stock wireless controller with something much cooler looking, it adds in a pair of rumble motors in the triggers as well.

    xcm x1 plus 2

It’s not clear at this point how the motors are activated though, as current Xbox 360 games don’t pass along data for these triggers independently like they do on the Xbox One. From what I can tell from the video below, they’ve got them set up to vibrate automatically whenever you press the triggers, so I’m not sure how that would feel, or if it would just be annoying.

There’s no word yet on pricing or a release date for the XCM X1 Plus controller shell, but keep your eye out on their website for more info.

Capcom Essentials Bundle Confirmed, Headed For PS3 And Xbox 360

Capcom Essentials Bundle Confirmed, Headed For PS3 And Xbox 360When it comes to video games, there is nothing quite like a bundle packed in your direction, since it would mean you would have plenty of games to keep yourself occupied over a period of time without having to worry about whatever else that is going to happen in the world around – at least this is what it felt like as a student during the summer holidays, and all you ever want to do is to just sit in front of the TV and “game” your entire summer through. Capcom must have heard this clarion call, which is why they have confirmed the Capcom Essentials bundle for both the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360.

The Capcom Essentials bundle for PS3 will see five PS3 games brought together in a special collection, and just what kind of goodies can you expect to be part of this particular bundle? We are looking at Resident Evil 6, Super Street Fighter 4, Devil May Cry 4, Dead Rising 2 and Mega Man 10, with the entire shebang retailing for $60. That would average out to $12 per game, which ain’t too shabby at all, considering the amount of entertainment hours that you are going to get out of them in comparison to a movie that lasts for two, three hours tops. Not only that, the Capcom Essentials bundle will also be accompanied by a branded bag, and it is ready to launch this October 8th.

Xbox 360 Season Passes Will Be Carried Over To Xbox One

Xbox 360 Season Passes Will Be Carried Over To Xbox One

Microsoft today announced the Season Pass Guarantee program. The company said that if a customer purchases a Season Pass for a participating title now for Xbox 360, they will automatically receive access to get the equivalent Season Pass for Xbox One. Though in order to receive this benefit, Xbox Live members must own the same participating title on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One console. Activision, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are some of the biggest publishers that have signed up for the Season Pass Guarantee program. The company says that more publishers and titles participating in this program will be announced soon.

This is actually the second Xbox One related announcement to come out of Microsoft today. It was announced earlier today that out of the 21 initial launch markets, only 13 will be receiving the console first in November. A number of European markets such as Finland and Netherland will not be receiving the console, though Microsoft says that it will try to make Xbox One available in those markets as soon as possible in 2014. Microsoft’s new console is anxiously being awaited, most retailers have sold through much of their pre-order stock. Microsoft hasn’t yet announced a confirmed release date for the Xbox One, all it says is that the release will take place in November.
