Titanfall Beta To Open To All Xbox One Gamers

Titanfall Beta To Open To All Xbox One GamersJust the other day we reported that Titanfall beta signups had gone live, with the betas expected to be a closed one and limited to a lucky few who managed to be selected. Well the good news is that it looks like plans for a closed beta might have been put aside in favor of an open beta, according to Respawn Entertainment who has decided to open up the beta to all Xbox One gamers. According to Respawn’s founder, Vince Zampella, he originally tweeted, “We have limited server capacity for the beta, but would be good to hit that ceiling,” However he later tweeted that he had heard from Jon Shiring, one of the programmers at the studio, “Ok, just heard from [Respawn programmer Jon Shiring]. His words are ‘Let’s break it’, so the plan is to make the beta fully open and have you max stress it!”

As per the studio’s announcement, it looks like the beta will be open to all Xbox One gamers in a bid to stress test the game’s servers. Stress testing a game is nothing new and most studios who include multiplayer modes of their games tend to offer that. After all what good is a multiplayer game if the developer’s servers can’t handle the load from gamers, right? In the past we have seen titles, such as Blizzard’s Diablo 3, open up its beta to the masses ahead of the game’s launch to stress test the servers and to make tweaks and improvements so that once the game is launched, everything will be running like a well-oiled machine. As for the beta testing of Titanfall for PC, Zampella expects that the open beta will follow shortly after the Xbox One’s beta.
