Microsoft Preps Xbox One For Japan

Microsoft Preps Xbox One For JapanIt seems that apart from games having different languages, such as Japanese or English, Microsoft has more to worry about other than the language barrier. While Microsoft has not mentioned when their latest console will be released in Japan, a 2014 timeframe has been given and speaking with Weekly Famitsu, Microsoft Japan spokesperson Takashi Sensui has come forward with additional details about the Xbox One and how it will play nicely with the Japanese market and how it will cater to the culture as well. As Microsoft has marketed the Xbox One as a multimedia device, Sensui has revealed that the company has been in talks with local device manufacturers and content providers. (more…)

Xbox One Is Best Selling US Console In December 2013

Xbox One Is Best Selling US Console In December 2013Ah, the never ending sales figures fight between two bitter rivals has always been an interesting proposition to be in. Over the years, we have seen classics such as the NES vs Master System, the SNES vs Mega Drive, the N64 vs PSOne vs Dreamcast, and so on and so forth. Fast forward to today, and we have Microsoft announcing (proudly, I might add) that the Xbox One is the best selling console in December over in the US.

Diablo 3 For Xbox One Listing Spotted On Retailer’s Website

Diablo 3 For Xbox One Listing Spotted On Retailers WebsiteAfter what seemed like a mountain of rumors and speculation, Blizzard revealed last year that Diablo 3 would be arriving on consoles like the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360. That’s good news for gamers but also bad news if they were thinking about purchasing next-gen consoles like the PS4 and the Xbox One. This is mainly because Blizzard has stated that availability for next-gen consoles, like the PS4, could take a while, but we guess better late than never, right? Now we know about the game’s availability for the PS4 but what about the Xbox One? After all Diablo 3 was released for the Xbox 360, so presumably they would release it for the Xbox One as well, right?

Well according to listings by some retailers, they seem to think so as well as a listing on Argos’ website has revealed Diablo 3 for the Xbox One where customers could even pre-order the game and where the retailer has speculated for a 2014 release. It is possible that Diablo 3 could be an exclusive to the PlayStation console for a period of time, which might explain why Blizzard made the announcement during Sony’s PS4 event as opposed to a separate event of their own. Blizzard has since released a statement to the folks at Eurogamer stating, “One of our goals is to bring Diablo 3 to as many players as possible, but we don’t have any other platform announcements to share at this time.”  It definitely does not sound like Blizzard is denying it so hopefully we will learn more about Diablo 3 for the Xbox One in the near future.

Xbox One Titanfall Limited Edition Controller Unveiled

Xbox One Titanfall Limited Edition Controller Unveiled

Much of the hype surrounding the actual next generation gaming consoles has now died down. Gamers are now looking forward to the new titles that leverage the improved performance offered by said consoles. EA and Respawn Entertainment are set to release the sci-fi shooter Titanfall in the near future. This highly anticipated game will be followed by a “must-have” commemorative companion released by Microsoft. The Xbox One Titanfall limited edition controller has been unveiled today, it will go on sale the same day Titanfall launches for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

This controller is the result of a collaborative effort of the Xbox design team with Respawn’s art department. Lead Artist at Respawn, Joel Emslie, said that the aim was to develop a controller that feels like “a piece of military spec hardware transported from the universe of Titanfall and into the players hands.” This wireless controller was inspired by the C-101 carbine that’s used by elite IMC Titan pilots of the Frontier in the game, it has been crafted to offer maximum authenticity in color as well as graphics. The Xbox One Titanfall limited edition controller costs $64.99, it will be available on March 11th in North America and March 13th in Europe.

Twitch Streaming For Xbox One Still Months Away

Twitch Streaming For Xbox One Still Months AwayJust like the Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft’s Xbox One is expected to feature live streaming of games where gamers can tune in to watch other games play games, do live commentary, and so on. While the PlayStation 4’s streaming is up and running, Microsoft’s service still remains MIA and did not manage to make it to the Xbox One’s release, and the bad news for gamers looking forward to that particular feature is that you guys might have to wait for a few more months until Microsoft decides that it is good to go. This is according to a tweet from Twitch TV themselves who wrote, “Xbox One Direct Broadcasting: There is no ETA at this time from Microsoft. Expect a few more months. If we know sooner, we’ll update.”

The integration with Twitch TV was announced during Microsoft’s press conference at E3 2013, which was more than half a year ago, so we have to wonder why it is taking them so long. While not officially confirmed by Microsoft or Twitch TV, some have speculated that the reason why Microsoft is taking so long is because they might be trying to figure out a way to prevent unsavory materials to be streamed live, which is what happened with Sony’s streaming service where people took advantage of the live stream to broadcast adult videos, causing Sony to remove Twitch support for The Playroom augmented reality demo. However this is only speculation but either way if video streams are what you are after on the Xbox One, you could be in for a wait.

Rayman Legends Kisses Goodbye To Load Times On PS4 And Xbox One

Rayman Legends Kisses Goodbye To Load Times On PS4 And Xbox OneI clearly remember one of the early debates that concerned the PSOne and the Nintendo 64 – the latter had virtually no load times thanks to the use of a cartridge, while you could grow a beard while waiting for Gran Turismo to load a particular track. Having said that, all consoles in the years after that used some sort of optical media format like DVDs or Blu-ray discs as it was a whole lot more affordable than cartridges, not to mention the huge amount of information that they can carry. Rayman Legends, it seems, will not feature any load times whatsoever on the Sony PS4 and Xbox One, which is an extremely interesting proposition.
