New Xbox One System Update Starts To Roll Out Tonight

New Xbox One System Update Starts To Roll Out TonightIt seems that the new Xbox One system update is all set to roll out later tonight, and special mention to the Xbox Live members who actually previewed the features, while sharing some of their feedback which will hopefully make the final update a whole lot better. Just what are some of the features that this new update will deliver? Check it out after the jump.

For starters, there will be game and app saves and updates, where a game save progress bar will let you see the status of your game saves, now how about that? This would also allow you to tell at a glance the games and apps which are being updated, or have been updated recently.

Apart from that, improvements have also been made to your friends , where notifications will be added in order to check out just when favorites and friends sign in to Xbox Live. This also happened to be one of the most frequently requested features, hence it became a priority for inclusion in this particular update. Friends who happen to be in multiplayer too, will be identified in the friends list.

There are also improvements made to Kinect voice and motion, where some of the gesture functionality have been updated to reduce false positives on non-hand objects triggering gesture commands. [Press Release]

Codemasters Teases Announcements, New F1 Title Likely

Codemasters Teases Announcements, New F1 Title Likely

Judging by the comments left by Codemasters community team on their official blog, it seems like they’re gearing up to make announcements this week. Lee Williams, a community manager, teased that “developers are getting builds ready, the PR guys are preparing PR stuff and the Community Team are busy teasing something…” The developer has been hinting at new titles quite a lot recently without actually jumping into specifics, it’s likely that later this week it may finally have something good to unveil.

Part of the announcement could be related to new Codemasters titles for next generation consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Possible announcements include the new F1 title, as well as a new title for the DiRT franchise. Codemasters may even announce a new GRID title if its feeling too generous. These are merely presumptions, the developer hasn’t confirmed as yet when it may or may not announce.

As far as the new F1 title is concerned, previous rumors suggest that Codemasters will release the game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well. It may very well be the last Formula 1 title for previous generation consoles before the developer shifts its focus entirely to next-gen releases only. It is unclear right now if new GRID and DiRT titles will also be compatible with previous-gen consoles. The community team hasn’t provided an exact date on which we can expect the announcements. We’ll keep an eye out for you.

Skype mentioned, “We found ways to better identify people in the picture, especially when there are multiple people in the room. The camera can adjust and see the entire family, even the little ones.” Apart from that, the app will also enable Skype users on the Xbox One to capture a new profile picture using the included camera on the console’s Kinect, now how about that? In addition, the Skype app will also support the use of one’s Xbox Live gamer pic as their Skype profile picture too if that is what you prefer.

As for whether Skype for Xbox One will enter Snap mode on the right hand side so that one can handle a video call while continue playing their game in the main window will be seen remains to be seen, although you can be sure that this is one particular feature that many would look forward to.
