Amazon: Xbox One Pre-Orders Post August 15 Is Not Guaranteed For Launch

Amazon: Xbox One Pre Orders Post August 15 Is Not Guaranteed For LaunchAccording to Amazon, folks who placed their Xbox One pre-orders after August 15th will not have the guarantee that they would be on receiving end of an Xbox One at launch later this year, which would be a bummer. Truly, this is where the proverb concerning the early bird getting the worm comes into play. Apparently, Amazon UK has already sold out of its entire allocation of Xbox One’s Day One Edition, hence the online retail giant has fired a warning to customers that whoever placed a pre-order for the Standard Edition after August 15 “will be received after (the) release date“.

Amazon also mentioned, “Please note–due to high demand, we are now out of stock of the Day One Edition Xbox One console and will not be taking further orders.” Of course, this does not mean that Amazon is no longer accepting pre-orders for the Xbox One Standard Edition, where they will “ship orders as soon as we receive inventory”. Those who want the Day One Edition might want to try their pre-order luck over at GAME and Shopto.net. Having said that, the Xbox One’s life has not exactly been smooth sailing ever since it was announced, having run into its fair share of issues already.

Microsoft Explains Xbox One Delay For Other Regions, Confirms Games Will Not Be Region-Locked

Microsoft Explains Xbox One Delay For Other Regions, Confirms Games Will Not Be Region LockedThe other day Microsoft dropped some bad news for gamers around the world when they announced that launch markets for the Xbox One would see a reduction to 13 markets instead of 21. This is no doubt bad news for gamers whose markets got dropped and can only expect to see a release in 2014 and will probably join those in Asia who are waiting for the console as well. However Microsoft has since clarified that the reason why some regions will see a delay in launch is not because there aren’t enough copies of the console, but due to getting local language and voice support to work for those regions first before releasing it. Sony PS4 Pre-Orders Suspended, Says The Telegraph

Sony PS4 Pre Orders Suspended, Says The TelegraphAt the end of this year when the crazy holiday season kicks off with plenty of frenzied shopping going on, you know that the two upcoming gaming consoles, the Sony PS4 and Xbox One from Microsoft are just going to be hot sellers. While both consoles have already been announced a few months back, the Xbox One seems to be getting more press coverage – and not necessarily because of good reasons. Still, pre-orders for the Xbox One and Sony PS4 seem to be pretty all right by estimates.

The Telegraph in the UK has reported that Sony might have directed major retailers in the UK to stop accepting pre-orders for the PS4 simply because they have been going so well. This particular instruction was sent out simply to avoid one simply yet potentially embarrassing pitfall – to avoid stock shortages this coming holiday season. Do you think that Microsoft might follow Sony’s route in this matter eventually, and close the books for the Xbox One pre-orders? Only time will tell, and we the audience, will sit tight and watch. Which particular console would you be gunning for first, and do you plan to pick up both consoles eventually? Building up your game library might be another potential cash drain issue to take into consideration.

Microsoft has taken to the Xbox.com news feed quite a bit lately, clarifying and otherwise tweaking information related to its upcoming Xbox One, such as digital game sharing and Home Gold. Xbox 360 Season Passes Will Be Carried Over To Xbox One

Xbox 360 Season Passes Will Be Carried Over To Xbox One

Microsoft today announced the Season Pass Guarantee program. The company said that if a customer purchases a Season Pass for a participating title now for Xbox 360, they will automatically receive access to get the equivalent Season Pass for Xbox One. Though in order to receive this benefit, Xbox Live members must own the same participating title on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One console. Activision, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are some of the biggest publishers that have signed up for the Season Pass Guarantee program. The company says that more publishers and titles participating in this program will be announced soon.

This is actually the second Xbox One related announcement to come out of Microsoft today. It was announced earlier today that out of the 21 initial launch markets, only 13 will be receiving the console first in November. A number of European markets such as Finland and Netherland will not be receiving the console, though Microsoft says that it will try to make Xbox One available in those markets as soon as possible in 2014. Microsoft’s new console is anxiously being awaited, most retailers have sold through much of their pre-order stock. Microsoft hasn’t yet announced a confirmed release date for the Xbox One, all it says is that the release will take place in November.

Xbox One Launch Markets Reduced To 13 Instead Of The 21 Initially Announced

Xbox One Launch Markets Reduced To 13 Instead Of The 21 Initially Announced

Xbox One is expected to be released in November, Microsoft is yet to announce the official release date. There has been evident consumer interest in this console, some retailers seem to have run out of pre-order stock. Microsoft today posted an update on its Xbox One launch plans. When they initially announced the console, the company said that it would be available in 21 markets around the world at launch. In order to meet demand, the company announced today that it is reducing launch markets from 21 to 13, which will receive the console first in November.

These 13 markets include Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand. The markets that have been dropped from this list include Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland. Microsoft says that it hopes to launch Xbox One in these markets “as soon as possible” in 2014. Rising demand in certain markets is just one factor. The company says that various factors determine the timing of a launch, such as localizing the Xbox One dash and incorporating local voice and languages. This can cause delays, though to show its appreciation for those who are affected by the delay, Microsoft says that all those who have pre-ordered Xbox One before today in these particular markets will receive a pack-in game when the console launches.
