Fable Anniversary Release Date Pushed Back To February 2014

Fable Anniversary Release Date Pushed Back To February 2014

Microsoft and Lionhead Studios announced earlier this year Fable Anniversary would be headed to the Xbox 360 “holiday this year.” It looks like it’ll be missing the holidays as Fable Anniversary lead designer Ted Timmins announced the game would be hit with a delay.

Just how long of a delay could Fable fans expect? Well – Fable Anniversary is expected to now release in February 2014, nearly three months after the Xbox One has been in the homes of those who picked it up as soon as it launches on November 22. Timmins doesn’t go into the nitty gritty as to why exactly Fable Anniversary will be delayed, although he does go into detail just how tough the decision was to make.

“It’s not easy making these decisions and I know that us asking you to wait a little longer whilst we get to play test the game every day is downright unfair, so over the next few weeks we’re going to be sharing with you more screenshots, more game footage and perhaps even some… top secret announcements!”

Top secret announcements, eh? We could only hope one of those announcements is Fable Anniversary headed to the Xbox One in addition to its original Xbox 360 release. We’re sure by February, many Xbox One owners will completely forget they ever had an Xbox 360, so an Xbox One release would certainly be a welcomed bit of news.

Xbox Live Rewards revamped with loyalty ‘punchcards’ and local currency payouts

Xbox Live Rewards revamped with loyalty 'punchcards' and local currency payouts

As part of its march toward the Xbox One’s arrival, Microsoft has relaunched the Xbox Live Rewards service — and it looked to your coffee shop for inspiration. Just as your local barista punches a tab toward that next free coffee, completing Redmond’s MyPunchcards will net you Rewards Credits. Complete the current cards by Halloween and you’ll get 5,000 credits ($5) for buying five map packs and 3,000 credits ($3) for renting five movies or TV episodes. As before, you’re rewarded for re-upping your Xbox Live Gold subscription and referring friends, and each time you amass 5,000 Credits, they’re converted to your local currency and deposited to your wallet. What’s more, if you’re impatient and have at least 1,000 credits in the bank, you can request an early payout. So much for saving for a rainy day.

Xbox One Launch Availability Expected To Be Better Than Xbox 360

The Xbox One is set to be released on November 22 across 13 different regions, which just so happens to be the same exact day the Xbox 360 launched in North America back in 2005. If you were one of those lucky enough to have pre-ordered the Xbox 360, you probably know too well just how scarce they were to find at its launch. Microsoft executive Phil Spencer wants to make sure those who didn’t pre-order the Xbox One will still be able to get one come launch day. (more…)

Microsoft Adds Jinni Engine To Improve Xbox Video Recommendations

Microsoft Adds Jinni Engine To Improve Xbox Video Recommendations

We know how important it is to have nearly every device in your living room connected to the Internet so you can stream video from a number of different content providers, but one thing people take for granted is how difficult it is for some of these devices to recommend content based on a variety of options. Netflix, YouTube and even video game consoles all have recommendation systems to place content available on their platform directly in front of those who would enjoy it. Microsoft is taking its Xbox Video recommendations a step in the right direction as the company is announcing a multi-year deal with Jinni in order to enhance the feature on the Xbox platform.
