Bing Launches A New Way To Discover Music Videos

Bing Launches A New Way To Discover Music Videos

Bing now offers users a whole new way to explore, discover and browse music videos on the search engine. It has been built from the ground up to make it easier for users to access music videos, Bing says that this new experience was designed with music lovers in mind and that it has them covered if they want to search for music videos from artists they’re already familiar with or if they’re looking to discover the up and coming artists.

So when the user searches for a music video from any artist, Bing will display the most popular video in the top left of the screen and the most relevant and popular music video for an artist, album or song will be displayed in the upper right. Bing will pull in videos from YouTube, MTV, Artist Direct, Vimeo and more. Users won’t have to click through to a site to see if its the video they want to see, they can see a preview by simply hovering the cursor over the thumbnail. Moreover, Bing will also display all of the tracks in an album if the user clicks on the album title in the right hand menu. With half a million albums and over 1.7 million songs from over 70,000 artists, the Bing team believes that this new feature will be “music to your ears.”

Minecraft Documentary Now Free To Watch On YouTube

Do you think that humans love to build? I suppose the answer would be in the affirmative, especially when you take into consideration the fairly large number of architectural achievements that we have seen in the past, such as the ancient pyramids of Giza, or the Eiffel Tower, as well as the Treasury in Petra, Jordan. In the 21st century, here we are with video games that encourage gamers to build, from the Sim series of titles to Mojang’s ever popular Minecraft. There is the Minecraft documentary which is now available as a free to watch video on YouTube, although it was originally released sometime last year under the banner of 2 Player Productions.

This would mean you will now be able to enjoy quite the insight when it comes to the making of the indie phenomenon known as Minecraft. The title of the documentary is Minecraft: The Story of Mojang, where it will see Markus “Notch” Persson and his team at Mojang being followed through their first year, which would mean all the way from alpha development to full release. This is a full length documentary, make no mistake about it, so do expect a fair number of discussions and story with the Mojang team.

YouTube Co-Founder Isn’t A Fan Of The New Commenting System

YouTube Co Founder Isnt A Fan Of The New Commenting System

Google first talked about the overhaul of YouTube’s commenting system back in September, when it revealed that it will start implementing users’ Google+ profiles. Basically what this means is that whoever wants to comment on YouTube now needs a Google+ account. This update hasn’t exactly been well received, the video that Google posted on YouTube describing the change has already received a lot of negative comments. One of the co-founders of YouTube itself, Jawed Karim, has expressed his displeasure over this change. Karim posted a question on his channel asking why the “f—” does he need a Google+ account to comment on a video.

Google’s point of view is that the new commenting system puts comments from “people you care about” first. The system personalizes comments for each user, displaying comments from people in their Google+ circles first, after that they can see comments by other users. However, users do retain the option of seeing the most recent comments like before through the “Newest First” layout.  Meanwhile, a number of YouTube users say that they won’t use Google+ to comment on videos, and since there’s no other way to comment, they’ll just have to stop giving their two cents on the videos they watch. Evidently this change has ruffled quite a few feathers, do you think Google might compromise a little here or has it changed the dynamics of YouTube comments once and for all?

It’s been over a month since Google said they’d be making that drastic change in the future, and it looks like all is ready as the company has pulled the trigger to make the update go live.
