They say it’s good to talk to plants–that hearing the sound of your voice will actually help them grow. That’s all well and good, but it tends to lead to a fairly one-sided relationship. PocketGrow won’t actually give voice to your house plants, but it can do the next best thing–teach them to tweet.
PocketGrow claims to be the world’s “smallest, fully contained hydroponic grow box.” The box features LED, which provide the light that your plants need to grow. It features a PicAxe 14M micro-controller, which maintains temperature, lighting, and watering control.
The package also includes LabBox Server software, which let’s you control the
PocketGrow directly from your computer. Online controls let you manage the device directly from an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.
Once you’re up and running, the tweet function sends plant status updates, including temperature, water lever, and light schedule, to Twitter.
It’s also pretty darn snazzy looking. You can find more information at the PocketGrow site.
