Live Mesh for Mac OS X
Microsoft is readying a Mac version of their Live Mesh synchronization software. That means it will be available on both the Windows and Mac platform, plus they have a mobile version that is capable of performing some of the simpler tasks. [related]
Twhirl Adds Identi.ca Push Support
A newer version of Twhirl should be released soon that not only adds support for Identi.ca, but it will actually push notifications to the app so that messages appear almost instantaneously. You’ll need to have a Google Talk account in order for push notifications to work.
iPhone 2.0 Jailbroken… Available to the Public
I’ve heard comments from a lot of people that they didn’t want to upgrade to the new iPhone 2.0 firmware until it was jailbroken, and that is partly due to the fact that there are a lot of unlocked 1st-generation iPhones out there. It’s all been hacked once again, but the bad news is that the new iPhone 3G cannot be unlocked…yet.
Amazon S3 Down for Several Hours
Amazon’s S3 web storage service is very well known for its stability, which is why a lot of people and companies have come to rely on it so heavily. When it goes down, however, the word gets around. Yesterday Amazon S3 came to a screeching halt for several hours, and it brought services like SmugMug down to their knees.
Gmail 2 Works in Opera 9.5
One of our readers, “x”, commented saying that Gmail 2 works great in Opera 9.5 now… no hacks needed. I gave it a whirl and can confirm that things like chat, the contact manager, and more work out-of-the-box just as you would expect them to in Opera. [related]
Wii Passes Xbox 360 in Overall Sales
The Xbox 360 had a one year head start on sales over the Nintendo Wii, but despite the initial lead the Wii has managed to surpass the Xbox 360 in total number of consoles sold. Almost 10.9 million Wii consoles have been sold according to NPD Group. [related]

Twitter has apparently been testing a new website design with some of its users. What they should really be doing is figuring out a way to keep the service up and running.

Did you know that you can get a refund for a copy of Vista that comes pre-installed on a new computer… that is if you don’t accept the license agreement. In Vista’s EULA it even says that you can contact the manufacturer to determine their refund policy. One user got $200 back from HP by doing this.
Convert Videos to an iPhone-compatible Format
Free software called Videora is capable of converting AVI files, DVD’s, YouTube videos, and more into a format that plays nice with the iPhone. It’s completely free, and for Windows only.
Use Gmail Gadget to Get Around Blocked Gmail
If you’re company blocks you from using Gmail you can always use the new iGoogle Gmail gadget to get around it. Now that the iGoogle gadget is more full-featured this is actually a viable solution… that is until your company blocks iGoogle. [related]
