Exclusive: White iPhone 4 lands at Vodafone UK

Well, would you have a gander at that? That, friends, is Apple’s long-awaited, hardly-forgotten white iPhone 4, and so far as we can tell, this is actually the real deal. We’ve seen retailers making space for the elusive handset over the past few months, and earlier today, we heard that Vodafone UK’s inventory systems were showing the white iPhone 4 as shipping in. Now, we’ve secured a few images of a 16GB model from a separate source that has seemingly made its way into the hands of one lucky customer (read: bloke) over in Britain.

As the story goes, the salesperson rang it up as a black iPhone to help facilitate the transaction, and shortly after the sale went down, Voda sent out a notice to halt sale of these gems “until next week.” Just so you know, the MC604B/A model number shown here is particularly interesting when compared to our own in-house UK iPhone 4; the latter, which is also a 16GB edition, sports a model number of MC603B/A. We suspect we aren’t going too far out on a limb by suggesting that the “3” and “4” are there to represent hue variations, and if you’d like to stretch the theory one step further, MC605B/A represents the 32GB black iPhone 4. In other words, don’t be shocked when the white 32 gigger rolls in as MC606B/A. So, is this the first legitimate sign that a white iPhone 4 is but days away from going on sale? We’re hardly experts in meteorology, but it sure felt like spring in Londontown today.

P.S. – 9 to 5 Mac suggests that it’ll be landing on April 27th, at least in the Netherlands.

Motorola Xoom, Nexus S 4G hitting Sprint in early May?

Sprint service the only thing standing between you and a Motorola Xoom? Good news — a tipster passed along an internal calendar showing an April 25th employee training date for the Honeycomb tablet, and while we’re still taking it with a grain of salt, it seems like the real deal. If past products are any indication, it should hit Sprint stores a fortnight later, in early May, lining up nicely with those Xoom cases that were spotted a week back. The Nexus S 4G also looks to be slotted for employee training the same day, foreshadowing busy times ahead for the Now Network cashiers.

Still need an iPad 2? Head to Best Buy on Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

Well now, this is interesting. We’ve been hearing a lot of chatter about Best Buy and the iPad 2, rumors that the company was sitting on a giant pile of tablets ahead of some great event. Well, now we have an interesting tip that says the company will tap into that stock-pile ahead of a big Sunday launch. According to the above image, stores will, in general, have a minimum of three slates each — which in many cases isn’t going to be enough. Good, then, that the company has a guide on how to “minimize customer disappoints.” BBY has earlier said that it is fulfilling reservations first, so if you’re still holding your ticket but not a tablet this might be a good time to give your local big box a ring.

Windows Phone 7-certified microSD cards emerge at AT&T stores: $32 for 8GB

Well, well — what have we here? For avid users of Windows Phone 7, you no doubt remember the hubbub last year surrounding the so-called difficulties with Microsoft’s latest and greatest mobile OS accepting microSD cards. We’d been pounded with news of “WP7 certified microSD cards,” but even now, they’re more ghost than reality. That said, it looks as if the tables are turning, with an nondescript AT&T store grabbing fresh stock of “certified” 8GB Class 4 microSDHC cards. Based on the packaging, it’s fairly clear that Microsoft’s taking the lead here, but SanDisk has been knighted to provide the hardware. $32 will soon get you a card that doesn’t destroy itself upon insertion in your Samsung Focus, and we’re guessing that they’ll be available to purchase sooner rather than later. So, you sizing up, or what?

Leaked sign confirms Droid Incredible 2 will be a world phone, launch is likely imminent

We already had a pretty strong inkling that HTC’s poorly hidden Droid Incredible 2 would be a world phone, and now we’re even more certain (if that’s even possible), thanks to this sign / billboard / flyer sent in by an anonymous tipster. What’s interesting is how the handset’s dual CDMA and GSM connectivity appears to be Verizon’s biggest selling point, taking top billing over the front-facing camera and larger screen, which doesn’t even get a nod. No word on when this open secret will launch on Big Red, but we say it’s about time.

Motorola to begin beta testing rugged Android tablet, steps up enterprise efforts

We’ve been keeping our eyes on Motorola’s plans to sink its claws into the enterprise market for at least the past couple of months, and it looks like the company is ramping up its efforts with a rugged Android tablet fit for the workplace. A presentation provided to us by a helpful tipster outlines Moto’s plans to be the “first physical embodiment defining Android for the Enterprise,” with a Gingerbread-equipped tablet entering beta testing this October. As you can see from the slide above, the slate will sport both a 1.3MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear-facing camera “with illumination and aiming” for barcode scanning. It’s also carrying a dual-core 1GHz OMAP 4 CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB NAND, a 7-inch LCD display, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, and USB connectivity. It should also pack enough juice to supply five and a half hours of streaming video, and should be able to withstand a four foot drop, extreme temperatures, excessive dust, and splashing water. From the look of things, this tablet’s going to be more at home in the workshop than the boardroom, but we’ll just have to wait and see what becomes of it once the thing makes it out of beta.

Samsung’s Droid Charge spotted in leaked promo material, multimedia dock in tow

Like it or not, it’s a Big Red kind of day. The latest VZW news to splash down in our inbox is the shot you see above — the first hint of promotional material surrounding Samsung’s Droid Charge. If you’ll recall, this phone began its (public) life at CES 2011 sans a name, but as a source correctly predicted, the name shown above will be the one that sticks. Proving that the Atrix 4G setup was more than just a fluke, Sammy’s also showcasing a must-have peripheral: the multimedia desktop dock. Said accessory ships with a built-in battery charger and spare cell, but with no apparent signs of a video output, we’re having a hard time getting too hot and bothered.

White Nexus S with AT&T 3G bands hands-on! (video)

Well, what do we have here? Sure enough, it’s that coveted white Nexus S with AT&T-compatible 3G that we mentioned yesterday, and we just got our dirty little paws on it thanks to a friendly tipster. This particular handset was purchased from Negri Electronics, and it’s both unlocked and running Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread), the version that just barely started rolling out to existing AWS Nexus S units in February. As you can see, it’s pretty much identical to the current model, except of course for that white tuxedo and 850 / 1900MHz-friendly 3G radio. Feast your eyes upon Google and Samsung’s latest prodigy in our gallery below, and hit the break for our hands-on video.
