Netbooks for all! We’re convinced that’s the motivational saying plastered to the wall in the HP lab where the company births Minis for everyone but your pet fish. But of all the company’s Pine Trail offerings, we’re most excited about the $425 Mini 210, which has a 10.1-inch HD screen and a Broadcom Crystal Accelerator chip that promises decent HD video playback, even with Flash. With an attractive new thin design, improved chiclet keyboard and that promise to handle high-def content, the Mini 210 has the potential to kick the others to the curb. Given the issues we had with the Broadcom-powered Dell Mini 10 and HP’s newer touchpads, though, we had to put on the glasses and take a closer look. Oh sure, the world may be off creating underpowered, web-based tablets, but Lenovo’s not giving up on those who still need an old-fashioned, fully-powered tablet PC (all 10.1 of you). Truth be told, powerful is exactly how we would describe the new X201 Tablet with its new Intel low voltage Core i7 CPU and 4GB of RAM. But beyond being one of the speedier 12-inch laptops out there, its capacitive touchscreen now lets the touch-happy among us alternate between taking notes with its Wacom stylus and putting two fingers down to zoom or scroll. Sounds like a near perfect experience to us, but before tossing over $1,900 we figured you’d want to make sure it really is. We’ve been putting the X201T through the paces over the last few days, so hop on past the break for our full review.

You know what can’t be easy? Making a netbook stand out amongst the hordes of them out there, and yet despite run-of-the-mill specs Fujitsu’s done just that with the MH380. Maybe it is the rounded red lid or the small crater in its palmrest that doubles as a scroll pad, but the $449 netbook has struck us as more than just another Pine Trail netbook ever since its appearance at CES. We’d like to take that at face value, but given the fact that Fujitsu doesn’t have the best netbook track record, we wanted to spend some quality time with it to find out if the 10-inch mini-laptop has the battery life, performance and ergonomics we expect for its higher-than-average price. MSI’s refreshed C-Series laptops appear to be quite boxy, but that may just be the sacrifice you make to own a seriously affordable Core i3 and i5 machine. The 15.6-inch CR620 models — which include the CR620-030, CR620-033 and CR620-031 — range from $650 to $750, and pack new Core i3 or Core i5 processors, Windows 7 Home Premium and six-cell batteries. Those wanting to spend even less have the $529 16-inch CR600, but despite its NVIDIA GeForce 8200M graphics it only has a Pentium Dual Core CPU. We had to do some digging of our own to see just how good these deals could be, and discovered that the CR620-33 with a 2.13GHz Core i3 330M processor, 4GB of RAM and a Blu-ray drive is only $699 at NewEgg. Yeah, we just said $699. If you’re not looking at the gallery or the press release below, we’ll assume you went shopping.

Back in the beginning of December, when Dell outed its business-oriented, 17-inch Precision M6500 laptop, it boasted some pretty meaty specs: Core i7 CPU, up to 16GB of DDR3 memory, a choice of ATI FirePro M7740 or NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800M graphics chips, plus support for up to three storage devices, and a 1920×1200 LED-backlit display. Well, it’s added some new configuration options today, including USB 3.0 and a Core i5 processor, making this one bad boy all around. There’s no word on the pricing yet, but the previously available Core i7 configuration runs around $2,700. We’ll let you know when we find out what these new options will cost you.
