After seeing the Symbian-based Nokia X7 leak into the wilds with its quartet of speakers a few weeks ago, you just knew that it was only a matter of time until Eldar Murtazin got his hands on the device for a preview. Last time he did this he burned the then unannounced Nokia N8 to the ground. He’s coy with any details but the “I do not like this device” machine translation is pretty telling as is that AT&T logo. One more pic of the backside 8 megapixel shooter after the break as we brace for things to come.

Update: We’ve been told by a source that only two of the four “speakers” at the corners emit sound. At least that was the case for the unit tested by our contact.

Is Sigma announcing an EVIL (as in Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens, not malevolent) camera today? Digital Photography Review forum member Ryan Shine seems to think so, and says it’s “here” in China. As if to prove his point, we’ve got a trio of pictures for the mirrorless shooter. Hey, don’t say we didn’t warn you — and if it doesn’t become official soon, at least there’s pictures to enjoy.

Update: We tracked down the source and turns out this is just an enthusiast’s modded Sigma DP1, which has been given a Leica M mount. Quite a daring mod, if we may say so.

Sure, we’ve already gorged ourselves on plenty of Gingerbread by way of Mr. Blurrycam and even Eric Schmidt himself, but it’s only now that Google’s officially (or accidentally) given us a tour around the next Android release. In a recent voice search video tutorial from Google Hong Kong, eagle-eyed peeps have spotted many tell-tale signs of Gingerbread on what appears to be a Nexus One. As you can see above, said firmware sports the previously-seen black status tray with its new icons, along with a subtly tweaked launcher bar at the bottom of the home screen. A quick peek in Settings also reveals the restyled buttons, as well as a new tab called “Related” or “Similar” on Market’s app description page. Help yourself to some more spicy goodness before it’s too late — the video’s right after the break (from 0:47).

It’s quite fitting for a device that’s purportedly codenamed Zeus to make its first video appearance somewhere in the wilds of Greece. What we have here is the apparent full motion debut of Sony Ericsson’s big crossover device, the PlayStation Phone, one half portable gaming console, one half Android smartphone. Unfortunately, we never see it flexing out its slider to reveal that delicious control pad, but judging from its curves and little design details, it does indeed look to be the real deal. Techblog.gr reports that it’s dubbed the Sony Ericsson Z1 and comes with Gingerbread on board — something that meshes well with earlier indications that some Zeus devices in the wild are already running Android 2.3 (and above) — while the screen is a 4-inch panel that apparently offers great touchscreen responsiveness. Excited for Tegra 2 to finally take the Android smartphone world by storm? Recent leaks out of LG and Motorola certainly suggest that NVIDIA’s finally going to make some inroads with its silicon somewhere around the Gingerbread or Honeycomb time frame — and that might happen sooner rather than later if a posting on Facebook is to be believed. Remember that shiny black Olympus (pictured above) that leaked last week? Someone in the captain’s chair of one of AT&T’s official Facebook accounts responded to a question about availability of the phone earlier today, matter-of-factly reporting that “the Motorola Olympus should be available in December or January.” We would’ve been willing to chalk it up to confusion on an employee’s part, but the post was later removed without a trace, and a follow-up with AT&T elicited a standard “we don’t have any information to share about upcoming devices” response. The company claims the posting was made “erroneously,” and we’ll agree with them on at least one level: neither AT&T nor Motorola intended for that information to slip out today.
