We know, we know — you’re ready to be done with the Droid Bionic. After all, we’ve been lusting after this monstrosity guy for nearly eight months now, so is all of this building up to be a major disappointment? We’re just as eager to find out as the next person, but here are some new images of the real deal to (hopefully) tie you over a bit longer. We’ve seen shots of the Motorola XT875 up close and personal before, but this is the first time it’s been spotted snuggled up next to another phone. Hanging out next to the Samsung Droid Charge, the Bionic’s slightly larger appearance lends credence to reports that it has a 4.5-inch display. A few other cosmetic features that stick out — quite literally, we might add — are the tapered back that bulges halfway up the phone to accommodate the camera, and the beveled edge around the perimeter. As already expected, the microUSB / HDMI port on the bottom right side for Webtop access can easily be discerned. Will this be enough to whet your whistle for another few weeks? If not, we hear there’s another Verizon device inbound that you might be interested in.

Well, hello beautiful! Can’t say we were expecting to see RIM launch a new BlackBerry this evening, but we’re sure there’s quite a few of you out there that’ll take it. The same BlackBerry Torch 2 that we previewed back in June has made the trek over to Ma Bell’s network, with a ‘Coming Soon’ page emerging just moments ago. AT&T claims that this is the world’s first 4G BlackBerry on its airwaves, but of course, that asterisk upside the “4G” logo couldn’t possibly be more telling. Regardless, the full-featured slider will arrive with BlackBerry 7 OS, a full QWERTY keyboard, sliding display, 1.2GHz processor, 8GB of onboard memory, room for 32GB of expandable storage, 720p video capture, inbuilt WiFi and support for the carrier’s HSPA+ network. Mum’s the word on a price and release, but you can tap that source link to get signed up for more.

What we have here, is a decidedly low-end Android tablet from the folks at MSI (possibly a member of the Enjoy family) flying through the FCC as fast as its single-core 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU and 512MB of RAM will carry it. Inside you’ll find Bluetooth and WiFi antennas, as well as enough room for a full-sized SD card, though oddly the user manual says this model (listed as MS-N0Y1) only supports sizes up to 8GB. Up front you’ll find a camera for video chatting, the requisite buttons for navigating the customized version of Gingerbread, and a 10-inch screen sporting a rather uninspiring 800×480 resolution. There’s a second camera around back, as well as the all important FCC tag. There’s something bittersweet about watching a Symbian phone march through the FCC knowing that Nokia is slowly thinning the herd. This particular model, the N5, made its requisite Mr. Blurrycam debut last month and now we’ve got some details about what the glossy white exterior is hiding. You’ll find Bluetooth and WiFi radios inside, which isn’t surprising, as well as NFC for all the contactless purchasing your Finland-loving heart can handle. On the mobile broadband side of things, there’s support for the 850MHz, 1700MHz, and 1900MHz bands, which means it’ll work with either T-Mobile or AT&T. Besides price and release date, the big question on our minds is whether or not anyone will buy a Symbian phone knowing the platform is destined for extinction?

That Atrix unlocked bootloader that leaked last month had one nagging limitation — it was only for the AT&T version of Motorola’s dual-core device. Now, thanks to the tireless folks who haunt the XDA forums, all of our international friends rockin’ the laptop-dockable handset will soon be free of Moto’s chains. Project Cheesecake, as the quest was known, has dug up files from a forthcoming Orange UK firmware upgrade that can be applied to any Atrix across the globe. That means even our impatient neighbors to the north on Bell will be able to get in on the unlocking action early. If you can’t wait for Motorola to officially get the update out the door, just keep an eye out at the source and more coverage links. The devs are doing some final testing to ensure it doesn’t brick phones and creating localized builds, so you’re just gonna have to wait a tiny bit longer.
