MSI X-Slim X320 and X340 coming in April

Hint of déjà vu notwithstanding, we’re pretty stoked to hear MSI”s ultra-thin X-Slim laptops, the 13.4-inch X320 and X340, are making their way to the retail channels this April. The X320 is sporting a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, while the Intel CULV-equipped X340 will be available in two configurations: a 1.2GHz Celeron M 723 and a 1.4GHz Core 2 Solo SU3500. MSI’s Director of U.S. Sales Andy Tung says he expects the trio to run for around $700, $750, and $999, respectively. If that’s not enough, two more X340 models are coming in May, in 1.3GHz Core 2 Solo SU2700 and a Core 2 Solo SU9600 options. No word on the 15.6-inch widescreen X600 model, but we’re hoping to see it sooner rather than later.

MSI Wind Box DC100 hands-on

MSI was showing off its latest Wind Box at the same pre-CeBIT press event Engadget Chinese caught the X-Slim X340 at, and man — looks like someone at MSI was studying up on the ASUS Eee Box. Nothing you don’t know about the internals here: 1.6GHz Atom N270, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, same as the other Wind Box — but it’s seriously tiny. No word on pricing or a US release date, but we’ll keep an ear to the ground. One more shot after the break.

MSI showcases Wind Top AE1900, AE2010, AE2200 touchscreen all-in-ones

Those sexy X-Slim X340s weren’t the only computers MSI was showing off ahead of CeBIT. The company also had on display three new Wind Top all-in-one desktop computers: the 19-inch AE1900, 20-inch AE2010, and 22-inch AE2200, each with touchscreen display. As for specs, here’s what we know: the AE2010’s running on an AMD 780G chipset with Athlon 1.5GHz, 2GB DDR2 RAM, DVD burner, and 1600 x 1900 resolution. We also spotted an Intel logo on the AE1900’s placard and Windows XP on its screen, but other than that, we’re pretty much in the dark here. With the Hannover conference just around the corner, here’s hoping that shroud of mystery is promptly lifted. Check out a pic of the AE1900 after the break.

MSI X-Slim X340 hands-on

Engadget Chinese managed to score some face time with MSI’s new X-Slim X340 at a pre-CeBIT press event today, and we’re seriously impressed — just like the Atom-based X320, the X340 weighs just 2.8 pounds with a four-cell battery and 1366 x 768 13.4-inch screen, but it’s got more horsepower with a ULV Penryn chip and GMA4500 graphics with HDMI out. Not bad, especially if this thing comes in under $1000 like we’ve heard — we’ll keep an eye out while you check out the rest of the pics in the gallery.

MSI unveils new X-Slim models ahead of CeBIT

MSI unveils new X-Slim models ahead of CeBIT

We certainly aren’t tired of the X-Slim 320 laptop from MSI, with its Air-like form-factor in less expensive and slightly more practical packaging — it’s still many moons away from release, after all. Despite that, MSI felt the need to announce two new models to round out the still unreleased lineup: the 13.4-inch X340 and 15.6-inch X600. We don’t know much about these two yet except that the X340 is slated be priced somewhere in the (wide) range of $699-$999 in the US, that both offer HDMI in addition to VGA output, both are Centrino 2-based, and that the X600 even has an eSATA port on top of its two USBs. We’ll surely be seeing a lot more of this pair (plus the X320 as well) at CeBIT in just a few weeks, and are hoping that MSI will go ahead and maybe release one before introducing any more.

MSI Wind NetOn AP1900 gets official photography treatment

MSI has gone official with its all-in-one Wind NetOn A1900, which looks to be the M19 we saw in November that was also at CES. The 18.5-inch desktop houses an Intel Atom N270, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB SATA HDD, DVD burner, 4-in-1 card reader, 1.3 megapixel webcam, and an optional 802.11 b/g. Its display is soft-rocking a WSXGA 16:9 resolution with 5 ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 250 cd/m² brightness — nothing worth writing home about. No word here on here pricing or availability, but back when it called itself the M19, it was scheduled to hit retail channels last month for five Benjamins.

MSI gets official with GT627 gaming laptop

MSI briefly mentioned its GT627 gaming laptop amongst hordes of other machines at CES, but now the outfit is playing favorites by officially unveiling its latest 15.4-incher. Said rig features a pixel-packed 1,680 x 1,050 resolution display, a six-cell battery, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, an optional Blu-ray drive and a Core 2 Duo CPU. It’s also the first MSI laptop to feature the 1GB NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS GPU, and there’s even a 320GB HDD, 4-in-1 multicard reader, twin USB 2.0 ports, HDMI / VGA outputs, gigabit Ethernet, a two megapixel webcam and an ExpressCard slot to round things out. All told, the machine weighs in at 5.8 pounds, but it’s your best guess as to how much it’ll retail for. Full release is after the break.

Atom-powered MSI WindBOX nearly ready to ride your LCD

Finally, a nettop we can really support. Rather than forcing consumers to deal with yet another underpowered box on their desk, MSI is enabling Earthlings to totally conceal said underpowered box so long as they have an LCD monitor with a VESA-compatible mount. The WindBOX, which actually broke cover back in November, is now completely official, and within the slim slab will be a 1.6GHz Atom CPU, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, Intel’s GMA 950 graphics set, 802.11b/g WiFi, audio in / out, three USB 2.0 sockets, a VGA port and a 3-in-1 multicard reader for good measure. There’s no mention of a price, but it should start filtering out later this quarter. Better tell your LCD to start working out, don’t you think?

MSI’s Wind U120 netbook is go for purchase

The Wind U120 has been drifting around for months now in the minds of undersized laptop aficionados, and being that you’ve already heard it talked up, seen it ripped apart and perused a gallery full of hands-on images, all’s that left to do is break out the plastic. Yeah, we know — $469.99 is tough to hand over even for a rather respectable 10-inch netbook, but at least you get a six-cell battery, right?

[Thanks, Abigail]

MSI Wind U120 gets ripped apart, examined in detail

We manged to get up close and personal with MSI’s new Wind U120 at CES, but not quite as up close and personal as the folks at the folks at MSIWind.es, who managed to recently get their hands on the netbook and promptly ripped it apart. As you may be able to glimpse in the picture above, this one is actually the U120H with built-in 3G, but the differences between the two apparently stop there, with each boasting otherwise identical specs and innards. There’s not too many other surprises either, as you might expect, but modders will no doubt at least be pleased to see that the system seems to be about as accessible as its predecessor. Hit up the link below for a closer look.

[Thanks, Johan]
