Razer debuts Anansi MMO gaming keyboard, dares you to ever leave your basement

And you thought you were set after procuring one of the many Naga mice on the market now. Think again. In a never-ending quest to milk the MMO market, Razer has just issued the planet’s first (or so it says) MMO gaming keyboard. The Anansi is a jet black board with a rather standard layout, but those seven thumb modifier keys are bound to enhance gameplay in some way or another. You’ll also get over 100 programmable Hyperesponse keys with on-the-fly macro recording, storage for up to 20 gaming profiles, five bonus gaming keys and 16 million color backlight illumination. Oh, and for those of you doubting Razer’s attention to detail, you can totally deactivate the Windows key while in “gaming mode.” Check it this December when it ships worldwide for $99.99 / €99.99.

Razer Offers MMO Gaming Keyboard

RZR_Anansi.jpg

Gaming peripheral-maker Razer just announced a keyboard just for MMO gaming. The Razer Anansi MMO Gaming Keyboard echoes the design of the Razer Naga gaming mouse and gives gamers MMO functions and features such as dedicated thumb modifier keys and macro capabilities.

Players can use up to seven times more commands with the Anansi versus the number normally accessible on a standard keyboard. It features over 100 programmable keys, on-the-fly macro recording, five additional gaming keys, and the ability to customize the key backlighting from over 16 million colors. It’s designed to be used seamlessly with the 12-button keypad on the Razer Naga and Razer Naga Epic, and lists for $99.99.

Razer Unveils StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Lineup

RZR_Spectre.jpg

Just in time for Blizzard Entertainment’s BizCon gaming convention, gaming peripheral-maker Razer has unveiled a line of peripherals designed with StarCraft II in mind (first announced back in June). StarCraft fans can pick up the Razer Spectre StarCraft II gaming mouse (shown), the Razer Marauder StarCraft II gaming keyboard, and the Razer Banshee StarCraft II gaming headset.

All three peripherals include features designed to enhance the StarCraft player’s gaming experience. They feature an APM (actions per minute) lighting system that provides the gamer with feedback on performance, responding directly to the player’s maneuvers and speed. Each one also features a StarCraft universe design. The mouse lists for $79.99, the keyboard for $119.99, and the headset for $119.99. Look for them in November.

Razer Launches Wireless Version of Popular Mouse

RzrNagaEpic.jpg

The best-selling Razer Naga most is getting a lot of attention these days. It was updated not long ago, and now Razer is offering a wireless version. The Razer Naga Epic features 17 MMO-optimized buttons, as well as three ergonomic interchangeable side panels for the best fit. Players can customize the glow color by choosing from over 16 million colors. It also offers dual mode wired/wireless functionality, so players can enjoy the response time of a wired mouse when they want one, and detach for convenience the rest of the time.

If you’re wondering how Razer came up with such an odd design, the final button configuration was chosen by the Razer ergonomics team after testing and screening more than 80 different model versions. The Razer Epic lists for a big $129.99 and will be available in November.

Razer debuts wireless Naga MMO mouse, Ironclad mousepad

While our eye-hand clicking capabilities are usually relegated to “upload image” and “RT” and the occasional “ban commenter,” that doesn’t stop us from dreaming of a world where we’re an elite vid-gamer (that’s “video gamer” to any n00bs out there), an entire virtual world at our beck and call. Razer can help us live that dream with its Naga MMO mouse, which has a wild assortment of numbered buttons on its side to be theoretically assigned to those high-powered abilities we’ve theoretically invested countless hours into obtaining — or theoretically paid a good price to a gold farmer for. Now Razer has a wireless version of the 5600 dpi laser mouse, using the same wired / wireless tech of the Razer Mamba (which is nice for when a theoretical gaming session stretches beyond the 12 hour continuous use mark the mouse is rated for) to let you plug in at will. There’s also a charging dock that conveniently doubles as the 2.4GHz wireless base station. “That’s great, Razer,” you might say, “but what will I put this mouse on top of?” They’re glad you asked. Razer is simultaneously launching a new ultrasmooth mousepad dubbed “Ironclad,” built out of a single piece of aluminum. The pad will retail for $60 this month, with the mouse following for $130 in November.

Razer Debuts the Ironclad Mouse Mat, for Comfortable Devastation

Rzr_Ironclad.jpg

PC gamers know they’ve got to keep their mice moving if they’re going to sweep away their enemies. Gaming peripheral-maker Razer knows it too, which is why the company just released the Razer Ironclad, a hard gaming mouse mat. In fact, this is the only metal mat in Razer’s product lineup built to enhance and optimize a mouse’s gliding capabilities.

Made from anodized aluminum, the Razer Ironclad features a robust unibody construction for reinforced strength and durability. Its extra-large surface area is great for low-sensitivity settings and wide sweeping movements. It’s available for $59.99, which seems high, but how can you put a price on devastation?

Razer’s special edition Naga Maelstrom and Molten mice: too pretty to touch

Still curious if there’s a market for mice with a dozen or more buttons on the side? Wonder no more. Just over a year after Razer caused every MMO addict in existence to salivate uncontrollably with the Naga comes this: a new duo of special edition Naga creations. For all intents and purposes, the Naga Maelstrom and Naga Molten are identical to the original in terms of functionality, but there’s a decent chance you’ll want to lift your palm from the surface of these a lot more frequently. Both units are graced with special edition lids, and somehow still feature 17 “MMO-optimized” buttons while adding a touch of glow underneath. Both models are slated to ship worldwide next month, with pricing set for $79.99 / €79.99 (the same as the original, if you just have to know). Per usual, the full presser is after the break.

Rzr_Naga_Maelstrom_Side.jpg

Razer has just announced that the Razer Naga, the gaming mouse with a name you might feel a little funny saying, is now available in two special editions. Check out the Razer Naga Maelstrom and the Razer Naga Molten.

They both offer the same 17 buttons that made the original Naga such a hit with the MMO gaming crowd, but they have their own aesthetic appeal. The Maelstrom Special Edition offers a whirlpool of blue light as a decoration, and its buttons glow blue. The Molten Special Edition glows in fiery red hues and its buttons likewise glow red. It’s Frost Miser and Heat Miser all over again. Which will you choose? Each lists for $79.99.

Razer Updates the Lachesis Mouse

razer-lachesis.jpg

The nifty-looking Razer Lachesis gaming mouse has been around for a while, but Razer has just updated it with, among other improvements, a wider choice of DPI settings. It also holds a 5600 DPI laser sensor with a new multicolor LED that lets you customize the mouse’s lighting with up to 16 million colors. Clearly, choosing the absolute best one is going to take a while.

As before, the Lachesis has a unique claw shape meant to keep your movements precise, while still allowing for speed. Specs include 60kb of onboard memory, 9 independently programmable buttons, and tracking up to 200 inches per second. It’s available for pre-order now (for $79.99) and will ship on October 8. You’ll also be able to find it at an electronics store near you.

Razer Mouse Bungee promises to let your corded mice roam freely

Mouse bungees may not be the most popular gaming accessories around, but we’re sure there’s at some dedicated gamers reading this that wouldn’t think of using a corded mouse without one, and Razer is now hoping to increase that user base with a mouse bungee of its own. Developed in partnership with Mouse Bungee — the company itself — the contraption simply promises to keep your mouse’s cord off your desk and not impede on your freedom of movement in any way thanks to suitably springy suspension mechanism and a sturdy, non-slip base. No word on pricing just yet, but you can look for it to be available sometime in the fourth quarter of this year. Full press release is after the break.
