AVN: BoneCraft, the Porno World of Warcraft Knockoff

bonecraft.png

We already knew about the folks at D-Dub software. The company old us that it aims to be the “adult video game version of South Park. Last year at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, it was showing off BoneTown–a game that could only be described as a comedic, pornographic sex fighting game.
This year, D-Dub has upped the ante with BoneCraft, a pornographic comedy sci-fi game that it promises “will appeal to both the adult gamers who always loved BoneTown and to the legions of fans the fantasy/sci-fi genre, who will now be able to experience what has never been possible in other games of the genre–taking the action all the way to bedroom.”
In other words, the game is a dirty, dirty take off of Blizzards World of Warcraft and Starcraft. The company debuted the BoneCraft trailer today at the AVN show. The game (only single play, for better or worse) is due out later this year.

Turn Your PlayStation Move Into a Sniper Rifle

ps3 move rifle.jpg

The PlayStation Move may be Sony’s attempt to target a younger audience, but that doesn’t mean you can’t turn the thing into a violent weapon of destruction. The folks at CTA are offering up this accessory, which transforms a run of the mill Move controller into a sniper rifle, perfect for games like Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. Keep in mind, however, that the include scope is really only there for decoration, however.
Using the thing is pretty simple–just plug in your Move joystick and the thing is good to go. There’s also Nintendo version that works with the Wiimote.
The gun is hitting stores later this year. It should run you around $40.

Save Your Eyeballs With Gaming Glasses

Vision Concepts International specializes in eyewear for people who stare at computer screens all day. It make sense, then, that the company opted to get into the gaming business. After all, who knows what manner of untold damage you’re doing to your eyes after playing World of Warcraft for 20 hours straight?
The company is offering up Gamers Edge, glasses designed specifically for gamers. The yellow lens tint increases contrast, resolution, and detail on the screen. The lenses also reduce glare and other “annoying” light frequencies.
A pair will run you $39.99. You were probably just going to blow that on online poker anyway, right?

Play Video Games Online With “Hotties”

hotties.JPG

CES has never been as dense with booth babes as a show like, say, E3, but they’ve certainly been around for as long as I’ve been attending. In some cases, their presence just seems superfluous, having little or nothing to do with the actual product. And then there’s PlayWithMe.
In fact of point, it would probably be ridiculous for PlayWithMe to not have booth babes. After all, the company’s tagline is “Play Video Games With Hotties.” Yep. It’s an online service that lets you play games online against attractive women.
One of said booth babes tried really hard to get me to play a game against one of the “hotties” (the line between the two is most likely fairly thin), but I told her that I had to go to, you know, do me job. She sent me away with a free play card inside, so I could “play in privacy.”
Gross.

Nintendo President Talks Kinect, PlayStation Move

Reggie_Fils-Aime_20070711_e3_520px.jpg

Earlier today, we had the chance to get some hands-on time with Nintendo’s eagerly-awaited 3DS glasses-free portable gaming system. We also had the opportunity to chat up Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime.

During our discussion, the executive spoke candidly about the Kinect for Xbox 360 and the Sony PlayStation Move, two gaming peripherals that took a page out of the Nintendo play book, following the runaway success of the Wii’s motion controllers.

Fils-Aime echoed that familiar Nintendo sentiment, “it’s all about the games.” He added that it’s hard for him to pick a clear winner between the two devices. “That’s tough to say. I think each does particular games uniquely well.”

The Kinect does have a bit of a leg up, however, in his opinion. “I think Dance Central is, by far, the best Kinect game,” Fils-Aime explained. “For Move, I think it would be hard for me to identify ‘what is their best content.’ I think it’s all about the same.”

Check out a quick video clip of Fils-Aime, after the jump.

Darth Vader took time out of his busy rebellion-crushing schedule today to help Fox announce the availability of all six Star Wars movies on Blu-ray. Starting today, fans will be able to order both trilogies. The movies will hit store shelves in September of this year.
The films will be available in three configurations: Star Wars: The Complete Saga (all six films on nine discs) for $139, the original trilogy (Episodes IV to VI) for $69.99, and the prequel trilogy (Episodes I-III) also for $69.99.

Nintendo 3DS: Hands On

3dshandsonfull.JPG

Nintendo’s 3DS was, hands down, the biggest thing at last year’s E3. Unfortunately, we didn’t really get a lot of hands-on time with the glasses-free portable gaming device. Nintendo gave us a minute or two with the thing at E3, but it didn’t actually have any games to demo.
So, naturally, when Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime asked if we’d be interested in getting some real, hands-on, game-playing time with the device, we jumped at the opportunity.
The device really does look and feel like a Nintendo DSi–that is, until it fires up. The top screen is 3D. Unlike those glasses based technologies that have images spring toward you, the 3DS really offers a sense of depth. It takes a few moments for your eyes to adjust to it–especially the first time–but once used to it, it’s really immersive.

iCade Turns Your iPad Into an Arcade Machine

icade.jpg

If you’re like me–heck, if you’re like anyone who grew up post 1975–odds are you spent your entire childhood lusting after arcade machines, hoping that one day you might have enough money to create your own Silver Spoons-style arcade.
If you’re an iPad owner, you can finally live that dream on the cheap. Just slip your tablet into this $99 machine and go to town. Ion was demoing the device with Asteriods for the iPad–fitting, since Atari is a partner on the device.
I got a little hands on time with the device–the buttons were far from arcade quality, but you always knew you were eventually going to have to settle, right?

Mophie Pulse Turns Your iPod Touch Into a Gaming Device

mophie pulse.jpg

Is the iPod touch the ultimate portable gaming device? Not quite, but strapping one of these Mophie cases on the thing certainly puts it up there. The Pulse adds forward-facing speakers, pulsing game vibration, textured gaming grips, and enhanced stereo for the many games the iTunes App Store has to offer.
Oh, it’s also a case, too. There’s a nice little hole carved out in the back for taking pictures. I had a chance to play with the thing last night at CES Unveiled. It’s pretty slick–for a prototype. Mophie hasn’t actually offered any release or pricing details on the thing–or when it’s coming out with a version for the iPhone, though we were assured that that’s on the way as well.
