It’s unclear whether Verizon will ever get HTC’s 7 Pro, but it’s a lock that Big Red will eventually have some manner of Windows Phone 7 gear in its lineup — and now we’ve got one in the flesh. Looks like HTC will be remixing the Trophy for use on CDMA networks, featuring a 3.8-inch WVGA display, 5 megapixel cam, 16GB of storage, and 802.11n, and Verizon is circulating a brochure for Microsoft employees saying they’ll be able to buy the Trophy in “early 2011” for $199.99 at launch when they renew their contracts now (they’ll also get a leather case and a car charger for free, but hey, they’re Microsofties). Oh, and that’s not the best part: the Trophy is also identified as being a “quad band global phone,” meaning you’ll be able to roam on GSM networks when you leave the US behind — a feature Verizon seems to be pushing pretty hard across its smartphone lineup now. Yes, Verizon’s calling them “Windows 7 mobile devices,” but the underlying message is clear — Verizon’s tossing the Windows Phone 7 CDMA ball squarely into Microsoft’s court. There are no CDMA-ready smartphones running Microsoft’s latest mobile operating system (save the late-blooming HTC 7 Pro for Sprint) and Verizon doesn’t intend to take any of the blame for that. You’re up, Microsoft. Time for a three-point basket.

P.S. We suppose this could also be a coy reference to CDMA-ready Windows 7 tablets.

If you weren’t so keen on that LTE-enabled LG handset for Verizon that we saw recently, feat your eyes on this puppy. What we’re looking at here is allegedly the HTC Mecha — which may be known at retail as the Droid Incredible HD — and from the looks of it, it’ll be the first true EVO 4G equivalent from HTC for Big Red. And yes, when we say “EVO 4G equivalent,” we mean 4G network support, too: you’ll notice a little “4G” symbol up there toward the right side of the status bar, suggesting this will likely be among the company’s inaugural LTE phones early next year. Android Central‘s source says that the phone is getting 9Mbps down and 5Mbps up in testing right now… so let’s just hope those speeds hold up when the network actually launches.

So it was written, and so has it been done. Hot on the heels of T-Mobile, the little Samsung Galaxy Tab 7-inch Android tablet that could just hit Verizon retail for $599.99. Of course, that’s before taxes and options for month-to-month data plans (with $35 activation fee) are factored in starting at $20 per month for 1GB on up to $80 for 10GB. So feel free to jump right in if the idea of waiting for a Super AMOLED version, a 10.1-inch flavor, or a tablet-tuned Android release sounds like crazy talk.

If the paper trail for this handset wasn’t enough for you, here’s the first official imagery of the Samsung Zeal. It is, as speculated, a dual-hinge, dual-display affair, equipped with an E Ink keyboard that transitions from a four-row QWERTY arrangement to a dialpad depending on orientation. If you’re thinking you’ve seen this before, that might be because you were one of the few to notice Samsung’s Alias 2, which also called Verizon its home. The Zeal is expected to arrive in stores on November 11th, so you can expect this premature little cameo to be augmented with full specs and a price very soon indeed.

Update: The leak has turned into a full-on press release. The Zeal will cost $79.99 on a two-year contract (after a $50 mail-in rebate) and will be available in stores and online starting on November 11th, as expected. Skip past the break for the full announcement. Having checked it out for ourselves, we’ve found that this isn’t like the Alias 2, this is the Alias 2 … but in black. Shame on Verizon and Samsung for building up our interest for what’s essentially a soft relaunch with a freshened up nomenclature.
