You Got Comments Aids MySpace Addicts

This article was written on February 20, 2007 by CyberNet.

There’s no doubt that MySpace is one of the most popular social networks out there, in fact, it’s remained as one of the top 10 visited sites on the web for quite some time now. Some MySpace users visit many times throughout the day, often spending countless hours there.  Because of that, there are hundreds of web sites dedicated to providing backgrounds, themes, and other MySpace goodies.

One of the latest tools for MySpacer’s is a download called “You Got Comments.” In a nutshell, it monitors your account for you and checks for new comments, messages, friend requests, birthdays, and event invitations.  Essentially, many of the excuses people have to check back constantly throughout the day are eliminated with “You Got Comments.”

You can customize the program by selecting the interval.  If you’d like it to check every five minutes, it will.  If you only want it to check once a day, it will.  This way you can keep up with all of the latest changes to your MySpace account.

So, if you find yourself constantly checking MySpace throughout the day, You Got Comments just might be a good solution for you.

Sony NEX-FS100 review

We’ve been uncommonly keen to get our hands on the Sony NEX-FS100 ever since we first heard about it back in March. You see, this is no ordinary camcorder. Its spec sheet reads like a liturgy of filmmakers’ prayers: a large Super 35mm Exmor CMOS sensor, interchangeable lenses, XLR inputs and proper, professional controls. Sure, it comes with a $6,600 price tag to match, but it also heralds a trend that should ultimately benefit pros and ordinary gadget denizens alike: the arrival of big, bold DSLR-style optics within dedicated camcorders. How do these optics effect the quality of the NEX-FS100’s footage? Plant yourself somewhere comfortable and click past the break to find out.

Engadget NYC Reader Meetup recap

Meetup

What can we say? It was an amazing night. We filled the joint to capacity, made about a million new friends, smashed (and fixed!) an iPad 2 live on stage, and literally had so much stuff to give away that we ran out of time. The staff is still buzzing (and our ears still ringing) after a fantastic night in the City, and we’re hugely thankful for everyone who came out last night to party with us. And, of course, we’re hugely thankful to our sponsors that helped to make it possible, including Motorola, Get-a-Game, RIM, HTC, Samsung, and AT&T — who brought artist Matt Siren to create a little art live. We have a time-lapse video of that coming together after the break, along with footage of what happens when a set of in-line skates meet up with the display on an iPad 2 provided by uBreakiFix. Spoiler alert: it ain’t pretty.

Purported Pic of iPhone 5 Back-Cover Surfaces

This could be the back of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5. Source: MacPost.net

The iPhone 5 may not look all that different from its predecessor, the iPhone 4.

What is said to be a photo of an iPhone 5’s back cover has emerged, and it features a model number widely believed to be associated with the next generation Apple smartphone.

The image, first published by MacPost, shows a white iPhone back styled much like the iPhone 4. It bears internal model number “N94,” which according to previous reports is a model that supports T-Mobile’s 3G services and is not currently used by Apple. The cover also is labeled “EVT2;” the letters mean “engineering verification testing.”

The photo follows images of a supposed iPhone 5 that leaked in January, which show a device that looks remarkably like the iPhone 4. But many expect the new iPhone to have a slightly different look. A larger display, curved glass and a flat metal back have been rumored, and a number of iPhone 5 case mockups seem to verify. Inside, the iPhone 5 is supposed to sport an A5 processor like the iPad 2, and a beefed-up 8-megapixel camera.

Competing designs and a cryptic statement from new CEO Tim Cook) have some saying we’ll see two new iPhones later this year: An iPhone 5 and a more affordable iPhone 4S. We don’t think we’ll see two models.

So what about that “N94″ label? The AT&T iPhone 4 is labeled N90, while Verizon’s is labeled N92. BGR first noticed the N94 labeling in leaked photos that appeared in April. It’s obviously different than the two current models.

Based on the images we’ve seen so far, the N94 reportedly will include a different antenna design. It also will support T-Mobile’s network and feature an A5 processor — all features the iPhone 5 is expected to have.

For now, the iPhone 5 is expected to launch in October, possibly on Sprint’s network as well.
