William Barber: North Carolina GOP ‘Majority’ Does Not Grant ‘Authority’ To Violate Constitution (VIDEO)

North Carolina NAACP President and Rev. William Barber appeared on Tuesday’s edition of “All In with Chris Hayes,” reinforcing the causes that prompted him to lead a Monday protest against Republican legislators.

The Raleigh News & Observer reported that of 50 Barber-led individuals marching outside the state Senate, 17 members were arrested, including Barber. The protests were in response to the aftereffects of a rare scene in North Carolina political history.

As Fox News detailed in January, the state is in uncharted territory, with its first GOP governor since 1993 and first instance of Republican control since 1870 in both the executive and legislative branches. When asked by Hayes whether that is a consequence of democracy, Barber gave an emphatic no.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Obtains More DLC This May 14

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Obtains More DLC This May 14When it comes to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, you know that plenty about the game has been written about it so far, and earlier this year, we did talk about how Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on the PS3 would be on the receiving end of exclusive VR missions, which is a boon for those who are gaming on the PS3 platform. Well, here are additional nuggets of information on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, where it is tipped to pick up additional downloadable content later in May (May 14th, to be exact), which will make LQ-84i playable in the side story.

After all, who does not want to step into the shoes, er, paws of a robot ninja dog, right? Not only that, the LQ-84i is certainly a crowd puller, especially among the ladies, which might very well be one of the incentives for the existence of the next Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance DLC. Konami claims that this new add-on will boast of “multiple hours” of new gameplay, where it will revolve around Bladewolf and its origins. With a DLC name like “Blade Wolf,” ‘nuff said.

‘World’s Worst Tenants’: Man Converts Abandoned Hospital’s Morgue Into A Hotel (VIDEO)

If you have access to an abandoned building, apparently you can start running an illegal hotel. One man started doing just that in an abandoned hospital on “World’s Worst Tenants.” And to ensure it was the creepiest scenario possible, he was running the illegal hotel out of the morgue.

When the team arrived and confronted one of the customers, there was certainly some confusion. “We paid to be here,” the customer insisted, which was technically true. Did the customer know that the man running the hotel had no legal right to do so?

It was the property owner who’d sent in the team, and the cameras, to find out what was going on in this hospital’s morgue. But this whole concept isn’t completely unheard of. One Tasmanian businessman had plans to make a morgue a rentable room for thrill-seekers.

Leap Wireless Will Not Re-Order iPhones Despite Sales Figures

Leap Wireless Will Not Re Order iPhones Despite Sales FiguresSome mobile carriers depend on the kind of smartphones that they carry in order to make even more money by snagging new subscribers who cannot wait to pick up the device, even more so when said device is available exclusively only to a particular mobile carrier. Remember when AT&T was the sole carrier in the US to offer the Apple iPhone? That certainly drew a whole lot of subscribers to the mobile network for sure. Well, Leap Wireless came to an agreement with Apple in June last year, where they signed a contract with Apple in order to purchase close to $1 billion worth of iPhones ($900 million to be exact) over the course of three years,

According to Leap CEO Doug Hutcheson, he claims that they are offering a device financing program to help sell additional units of the iPhone, with the company in line to roll out another phase of the financing program which will see it expand it to cover two-thirds of those switching over to Leap from post-paid carriers. Regardless, the recent increase of iPhone sales will not change Leap Wireless’ mind to purchase additional iPhone units other than the ones that they have already agreed to pick up. There is an expected drop off of iPhone sales this spring according to an analyst.

Uber details its New York City e-hailing service

We talked in recent weeks about New York City’s move into the digital age, allowing yellow taxis to be hailed electronically after months of legal wrangling at the behest of livery cab drivers. Shortly after the one-year test pilot was approved, the Taxi and Limousine Commission said that it had approved Uber as the first company with an official go-ahead to roll out its service in the city. It has been a few days, but now Uber has spoken up.

Taxi

In a post on its blog, Uber officially announced its return to New York City following the approval it received last Friday. Says Uber, such a move demonstrated NYC’s “commitment to technology and innovation,” saying that it is proud to be part of that. The excitement in the post is quickly curbed down to more serious business, however, with users being reminded multiple times that they can’t forget to pay their driver.

Uber advises that as of right now the system is not yet set up to allow users to automatically pay their fare, meaning they’ll still need to do it the old fashioned way even if their hailing has progressed from arm-raising to finger-swiping. While the company doesn’t come right out and say that it will provide automatic payments in the future, it does everything it can to suggest that it’ll be an eventual feature.

In addition, Uber also advises its users that initially the number of taxi drivers who can be summoned via the app will be low, but that the number will increase “in the coming weeks.” Likewise, black cars are still the default option, and so those looking for a taxi will need to be sure they switch the slider over before hailing. And finally, because of its requirements by the the TLC, Uber isn’t available for getting cabs at LGA, JFK, and beyond the five boroughs.

More On The Sony Honami And Its 20-Megapixel Camera

More On The Sony Honami And Its 20 Megapixel CameraThere was a leak on the upcoming quad-core smartphone from Sony Mobile which was was said to feature a 20-megapixel in the works earlier this morning, carrying the nickname the Sony Honami. Wow, a 20-megapixel shooter would definitely place this as a flagship device under Sony’s stable for sure. We have more details on the alleged Sony Honami now, where it reportedly comes with a Sony 1/1.6″ Exmor RS stacked sensor and Cybershot G glass lens. The inclusion of a 1/1.6″ sized camera sensor would obviously make it larger compared to any of its other competitors, albeit for the one found in the Nokia 808 Pureview.

Apart from that, it is whispered that there will also be an all new image processing algorithm as well as revamped camera user interface which is based off the current generation of Sony Cybershot cameras. It is tipped that the automatic scene recognition will get a massive boost in improvement, even more so over the Sony Xperia Z. Will it come with xenon or dual LED flash? Only time will tell, as time is the great confirmer or destroyer of rumors.

OmniVision OV2724 should lead to super-small, 1080p60 front phone cameras

OmniVision OV2724 may lead to supersmall, 1080p60 front phone cameras

When most front-facing mobile cameras are shoehorned in between a myriad of sensors, they seldom have the breathing room they’d need for truly noteworthy performance. OmniVision can’t quite defy physics, but its new OV2724 sensor could challenge at least a few of our common assumptions. The OV2722 successor stuffs 1080p imaging into the company’s smallest chip of the kind, at 5mm by 5mm by 3.5mm — ideally, leading to full HD front cameras in tinier devices. Full-size devices still stand to benefit, though. The OV2724 has the headroom to record at an extra-smooth 60 frames per second, and individual frames should be more eye-catching between the higher dynamic range and better low light shooting. The only frustration left is having to wait for mass production of the new sensor in the summer quarter — we won’t see any phones or tablets reaping the rewards for at least a few months.
