Microsoft Windows Gift Card On Amazon

Microsoft Windows Gift Card On AmazonMicrosoft did give us some time to bid adieu to the Microsoft Points system sometime last month, as the software giant made the jump to include real world currency when it comes to being able to purchase downloadable games, music as well as movies from its Xbox service. Microsoft Points gift cards are currently still on sale and accepted, but it does seem as though Microsoft themselves are working to roll out a new range of actual money gift cards to meet the Windows 8.1 launch that is about to happen soon.

Right now, we have seen Amazon place a pre-order listing for a $15 “Microsoft Windows Gift Card”. According to the page’s description of the Microsoft Windows Gift Card, it mention that it can be used to purchase content on the “Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox stores.” There was no actual image of the card itself, but in the listing, it touts an October 18 release date – which incidentally, happens to fall on the same day that Windows 8.1 will launch officially. Other than that, the Amazon UK page does have several listings for Microsoft Gift Cards which the site claims will be made available nearly three weeks earlier, which is October 1st, and they will arrive in £15, £25, and £50 denominations.

Jeff Bezos: “People’s jaws hit the table”

Jeff Bezos is happy. More than happy, he’s hooting with excitement. Yes, you might expect that from someone with an estimated net worth measured in multiples of billions of dollars, but today the Amazon CEO (and Washington Post owner, and clandestine private spaceship project Blue Origin founder) has something specific in mind: scraping the wince-inspiring […]

    SkyDrive Users Experience Access Issues

SkyDrive Users Experience Access IssuesHmmm, it seems that gaining access to a particular online service is not all that plain sailing in the past few days. Google had issues with their Gmail, with slow email deliveries being one of the major thorns recently, and here we are with Microsoft’s SkyDrive – a cloud data storage service that does seem to affect a bunch of folks who are unable to see or modify their files.

In a Live Status page, it posted an alert at 4 pm Eastern time today that stated, “SkyDrive is having problems accessing and modifying files. You might not be able to view, change, upload, or delete files.” So far, it remains to be seen as to what is the cause of such issues. Of course, this is not the first time that something like this has affected Microsoft’s online services, and knowing the law of probability, it will not be the last, either. In August, Microsoft also stared down a barrel of problems which affected SkyDrive, Outlook.com and People services, with the Outlook.com problems taking a few days to resolve. That was certainly a far bleaker situation compared to today. Hopefully, Microsoft’s engineers will be able to iron out the kinks in no time at all.

SAN FRANCISCO — SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The longest America’s Cup in history will come down to two 72-foot, space-age catamarans making a final, dramatic sprint around San Francisco Bay, on a five-leg course framed by the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island.

Microsoft Organizes Surface Tour For The Curious

Microsoft Organizes Surface Tour For The CuriousYes, so we do know that Microsoft has already begun to offer pre-orders for both the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 tablets, but do bear in mind that these tablets will not begin to ship within another month or so. Waiting can be quite a pain for those of us who are not patient, and Microsoft knows that, which is why they have decided to organize a Surface tour at various places so that you will be able to check out the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 before the October 22nd release date.

The dates will vary from September 30th and it goes all the way to October 17th, where some of the venues include the University Village in Seattle, Washington, the Westfield San Francisco Centre in San Francisco, the Westfield Century City in Los Angeles, the Houston Galleria in Houston, Dadeland Mall in Miami, Specialty Store at Shops at North Bridge in Chicago, Specialty Store at Time Warner Center in New York City, and the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City in Arlington, among others. Of course, it remains to be seen whether there will be groupies following the entire slew of Surface tours that have been organized, but I guess in this case, waiting till near the end of next month ain’t too difficult a thing to do.
